Texas AD Chris Del Conte plans for affordable tickets in 2024 season

Chris Del Conte shares plan for affordable tickets to make sure the team has a full stadium in 2024.

Texas may not have exorbitantly high ticket prices for its first SEC season. That is, if Longhorns athletic director Chris Del Conte has anything say in the ticket prices.

Orangebloods’ Anwar Richardson shared the following plan for Del Conte heading into an SEC slate.

“Texas AD Chris Del Conte said they have reduced tickets to make games more affordable. Said they did not want to “jack up” the prices because Texas was entering the SEC in 2024. They want to pack the house.”

It’s unclear what the secondary ticket market will do with the price of tickets for the team’s inaugural season in its new conference. Nevertheless, Texas will want to leverage its fanbase’s passion into home field advantage rather than suppress it with unreasonably high ticket prices.

The Longhorns’ most recent season finale against Texas Tech this season gives somewhat of an idea of what DKR-Memorial Stadium in primetime can look like late into the season. Texas will want to keep that intensity against teams in its new conference.
