Typically, your homecoming game is against a weaker opponent you’re fairly confident you’ll come away with a win against.
For Georgia, a likely homecoming opponent would be Vanderbilt.
Tennessee, however, took the opposite approach and scheduled its homecoming game against Georgia, which will likely lead to the most anticlimactic weekend after the Vols lose to UGA.
That game is slated for Nov. 13 in Neyland Stadium.
Wait, wait, wait….
Tennessee designated its game against Georgia as homecoming for this year??

This will be the first time since 2013 that Tennessee will play an SEC team on homecoming. Last time did not go so well — Tennessee lost to Auburn 55-23.
Georgia has won the last four against the Vols and 10 of the last 13.
