TCU at West Virginia: Three things to know
- The TCU offense has produced just six aerial touchdowns in as many games this fall. The Horned Frogs have averaged 211.7 passing yards per game (85th in FBS). Things don’t figure to trend the other way this week: West Virginia ranks fourth in the nation in passing yardage allowed. The Mountaineers have yielded just 161.6 passing yards per game.
- West Virginia QB Jarrett Doege is a fourth-year talent who has thrown 57 TD passes and 21 picks over his career. After throwing a combined three interceptions in games against Baylor (Oct. 3) and Kansas (Oct. 17), Doege has responded by logging three straight 300-yard games without a pick. Over that stretch, the WVU signal-caller has thrown 134 passes.
- WVU has won three of the last four meetings in this series (4-0 against the spread). The Mountaineers won in Ft. Worth last fall, beating the Frogs 20-17 in a defensive struggle which produced just 541 combined yards ad five turnovers.

TCU at West Virginia: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks
Prediction
West Virginia 27, TCU 24
Money line (ML)
Both teams have a couple of one-score losses this season, but TCU figures to have a bit more momentum. There is quite a bit of gray area, however, in quantifying much more than that. In a game that should perhaps have more of a one-and-a-half-point line, TAG A SLIGHT LEAN ON TCU (+125) due to some value on the price.
Against the spread (ATS)
Too many conflicting signals: PASS.
Over/Under (O/U)
The profiles of these teams have the total tamped down into the mid-40s. Peg that total as yielding some value on the high side. Both defenses are adept at creating havoc, enough so to set up several short-field scores. Figure TCU as being able to stay on schedule perhaps more than is suggested by surface numbers and apply the same logic to West Virginia’s big-play potential.
Throw in a default setting for 2020 college football, and BACK THE OVER 45.5 (-106).
