Feliciano’s spot

This big blow for the Bills this past week injury-wise was Jon Feliciano. Buffalo’s starting right guard from a year ago suffered a chest injury. Now he’s out for the next few months and someone is going to have to take his spot for the time being.

“(Feliciano) brings an edge, he brings energy, you see his energy on the field,” Beane said. “They play different positions, but I think him and Josh Allen are wired the same way.”

Good news is, the Bills have plenty of candidates to fill-in. Plenty of those guys we know, and Beane mentioned multiple of them.

In order, Beane said the names of: Daryl Williams, Evan Boehm, Ike Boettger, Spencer Long, Cody Ford and Ty Nsekehe as candidates to replace Feliciano.

Of all of these guys, Ford’s name is the most interesting. The rookie started at right tackle in 2019. He split his first season there with Nsekhe. Prior to being drafted, there was some speculation by draft analysts that Ford could be a better guard in the pros, but to this point, the Bills have been set at keeping him at tackle.

According to Beane, the Bills are still committed to having Ford start. But where? For the first time that’s up for debate.

“There’s a lot of combinations we can do… a long way to go before it’s settled of how that would play out at right guard, right tackle, I think Cody (Ford) will be in the mix at one of those. Just have to see where it fits best. Are we better with someone else at right tackle and sliding Cody in? Or are we better leaving Cody at right [tackle] and giving someone else that job?” Beane said.
