An MSU DE transfer is heading to Missouri:

Michigan State defensive end Zion Young made the decision to transfer after the disastrous 2023 football season. Young, a member of the 2022 recruiting class, had been a bright spot on the MSU defense these past two seasons. In his two seasons with MSU, he recorded 47 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks.

Now, Young is headed to Missouri via the transfer portal.

Another Michigan State Spartan is hitting the transfer portal.

Defensive end Zion Young announced on Friday that he will enter the transfer portal and look for a new home for next season. Young will have two years of eligibility remaining.

Young appears in 20 games in his first two seasons for the Spartans, including all 12 games this past year. He recorded 47 tackles and 2.5 sacks during his two years at Michigan State.

Mel Tucker releases statement, initial suspensions as a result of tunnel altercation at Michigan Stadium

Mel Tucker has released a statement regarding his team and its involvement in the altercation in the Michigan Stadium tunnel following the Michigan State and Michigan rivalry game on Saturday night.

In the statement, Tucker revealed Itavion ‘Tank’ Brown, Angelo Grose, Zion Young and Khary Crump were suspended for their actions in the tunnel until the conclusion of investigations by the schools, law enforcement and the Big Ten.

Additional student athlete participation and contributing factors are being investigated.

MSU has completed the flip and has earned the commitment and signature from Georgia DE Zion Young

Michigan State football has completed the flip of defensive end Zion Young, and have been given his national letter of intent signature.

Young, a one-time West Virginia commit, visited East Lansing unofficially for the Michigan game late in October and followed that with an official visit in the first weekend of December. The Spartans held off late pushes by Missouri and Florida to ultimately seal the deal.

Analysis: Zion Young is another very athletic pass rusher. A big senior season saw the Spartans along with Missouri and Florida entering the picture for the talented defensive end. A long frame with a lot of athleticism, Michigan State coaches will have a strong foundation to work with as they rebuild the defensive end room.

It’s down to Michigan State and Missouri for 2022 three-star defensive end Zion Young.

Young announced on Tuesday night that he has narrowed the list of schools he’s considering to just two, with the Spartans and Tigers remaining in contention for his talents. Early National Signing Day is on Wednesday.

Young — who hails from Atlanta — is ranked as the No. 158 defensive lineman in 247Sports composite rankings. He holds scholarship offers from 11 schools, including Michigan State, Missouri, West Virginia and Florida.

Keep an eye on Young on Wednesday, as he could be another great addition for the Spartans’ 2022 class.

What to Watch: Early National Signing Day

Previewing what to expect for Michigan State on early national signing day:

December 15th marks a very important day in the college football universe. It is the early signing period, where recruits in that year’s respective class can sign their National Letters of Intent, officially binding them with the school they committed to.

The Spartans coaching staff has done a really nice job piecing together their 2022 recruiting class, already holding 20 commitments. When the class is put together this well, it takes some of the drama out of signing day, but it definitely has not taken all the drama away.

Three-star defensive lineman Zion Young may be committed to West Virginia but that isn’t stopping the Spartans from pursuing him.

Young announced on Tuesday that he’s received a scholarship offer from the Spartans. Young has been committed to West Virginia since June but has picked up a couple of offers this week, with Missouri also handing him a scholarship offer.

Young is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 135 defensive lineman in the 2022 class.

Young hails from Atlanta, and plays for Westlake High. He’s listed at 6-foot-5 and 230 pounds.
