Who Titans fans are picking in PFF’s mock draft simulator

One of the top-two choices by Titans fans is no doubt a surprise.

Pro Football Focus recently did a mock draft using the top fan picks from its mock draft simulator, and one of the top-two choices of Tennessee Titans fans is very surprising.

According to PFF’s Sam Monson, the 2022 NFL draft prospect Titans fans are taking most is Boston College guard, Zion Johnson, who is a personal favorite of mine.

He’s a perfect scheme fit and could contribute right away. Adding to that, we all know how much head coach Mike Vrabel likes players he’s familiar with, and Johnson checks that box as a former teammate and roommate of Tyler Vrabel.

The player taken second-most by Titans fans in the mock draft simulator was EDGE Jermaine Johnson (12.7%) — and that’s who the Titans ended up with in this particular mock, as the other Johnson was already off the board.

Tennessee is doing pretty well in the edge rusher department at the moment, with Bud Dupree, Harold Landry and Rashad Weaver all in-house, so taking an edge rusher doesn’t feel like an early-round option.

However, like cowbell, Titans fans apparently believe the team needs more.

This could also partly be a result of fans picking several different receivers who could be there at No. 26, thus spreading the percentage for any given wideout thin enough to fall to third or worse.

Unfortunately, PFF didn’t list the full breakdown of who was chosen most after these two prospects so the world may never know.

Even taking that into account, these results are still pretty surprising given all of the attention on Tennessee’s wide receivers and offensive line this offseason. But, hey, at least it wasn’t Nakobe Dean.

2022 NFL draft: Zion Johnson scouting report

Everything NFL draft fans need to know about Boston College offensive lineman Zion Johnson

A tough, versatile lineman who made the most of his week at the Senior Bowl, Boston College’s Zion Johnson enters the 2022 NFL draft as one of the top interior blockers in the class.

Here is everything you need to know about this dominant guard prospect:

7-round mock draft for Chargers after free agency

The Los Angeles Chargers address all of their needs in this latest mock draft.

The Chargers are set with nine picks in next month’s draft.

Some bargain free-agent moves could still take place before the draft starts on April 28, but for the most part, the current roster shows what areas they should be targeting.

As we are now officially four weeks away from the highly-anticipated event, here is a look at what Los Angeles could do with each of their selections.

Iowa’s Tyler Linderbaum listed in Bucky Brooks’ top-5 interior blockers

Iowa center Tyler Linderbaum was rated by NFL.com’s Bucky Brooks as one of the top-five interior offensive linemen in this NFL draft class.

NFL.com’s Bucky Brooks put together his latest top five 2022 NFL draft prospects by position. As expected, Iowa center [autotag]Tyler Linderbaum[/autotag] is highly regarded.

In fact, Brooks has Linderbaum as his second highest-rated interior blocker. According to Brooks, Texas A&M offensive lineman Kenyon Green is the top interior blocker in this class. After Linderbaum, Brooks ranked Boston College guard Zion Johnson No. 3, Georgia offensive lineman Jamaree Salyer No. 4 and Nebraska center Cam Jurgens No. 5.

Here’s what Brooks wrote about these interior blockers in this 2022 NFL draft class.

The class of interior blockers includes technicians with enough power and pop to play bully ball at the line of scrimmage. Green is an athletic phone-booth controller with the strength, power and explosiveness to blow defenders off the ball in the running game. The former Texas A&M standout excels in a pin-and-pull scheme, but he displays enough athleticism to thrive in zone-based or man-blocking systems, as well. Linderbaum is an athletic pivot with polished skills and a nasty finishing move. The Iowa product is a rare find as a scrappy player with a versatile game. – Brooks, NFL.com.

Linderbaum actually fell one spot in Brooks’ rankings of interior blockers. In Brooks’ first top five 2022 NFL draft prospects by position on Feb. 16, Linderbaum was the No. 1 interior blocker according to Brooks. Now, he’s swapped Green for Linderbaum at the top.

Either way, it’s clear that Linderbaum is considered one of the elite interior offensive line talents in this draft class. Linderbaum started all 35 games at center for Iowa over the past three seasons after making the transition from the defensive line to the offensive side of the football.

Jaguars among teams to attend Boston College Pro Day

The Jacksonville Jaguars sent offensive line coach, Phil Rauscher, to Boston College to check their top offensive line prospects Zion Johnson and Alec Lindstrom.

The Jacksonville Jaguars sent offensive line coach Phil Rauscher to check out two of the best offensive linemen in the 2022 NFL Draft on Friday at Boston College’s pro day. Those players were probable first-round pick Zion Johnson and Alec Lindstrom, who is expected to be taken before Round 5.

According to Reese’s Senior Bowl Executive Director Jim Nagy, the Jags were one of five teams to send their offensive line coach to the event.

Many NFL scouts believe that Johnson is the best guard prospect in this year’s draft and could sneak into the first-round after a stellar performance at the Senior Bowl and the NFL Scouting Combine earlier this month.

Johnson played in 22 games and started in 19 for Davidson during the first two years of his college career before transferring to Boston College. There in his first season with the Eagles in 2019, he earned Second-Team All-Atlantic Coast Conference honors after starting seven games at left guard. Johnson was moved to left tackle in 2020 where he made 11 starts, and then returned to left guard and started 10 in 2021.

The Jaguars had to replace both of last season’s starting guards in Andrew Norwell and A.J. Cann after it was clear the offensive line needed remodeling. General manager Trent Baalke and head coach Doug Pederson signed right guard Brandon Scherff to help upgrade the interior. The team could address the hole at left guard with Ben Bartch, Will Richardson, Walker Little, or a rookie like Johnson.

As for Lindstom, who plays center, he was a three-year starter for Boston College. He is a two-time first-teamer for the ACC and is known as a technician at his position. He’s the brother of Atlanta Falcons offensive lineman Chris Lindstrom, nephew of former NFL players Eric Lindstrom and Dave Lindstrom, and son of former USFL player Chris Lindstrom Sr., so football is simply in Alec’s genes.

15 prospects to watch if the Eagles trade down in the NFL draft

#NFLDraft2022: 15 prospects to watch if the #Eagles trade down in the first round

The Eagles will be the team to watch during the 2022 NFL draft and if Howie Roseman really is unsure about the future of Jalen Hurts, then Philadelphia could look to push a first round pick back into 2023.

The Eagles will pick at 15th, 16th and 19th overall, and even if they use two of the those picks, Philadelphia truly could choose to trade back, while still able to accumulate top notch talent.

The draft’s first round will continue to fluctuate as teams around the league jockey for quarterback arm talent and dynamic pass rushers.

We’ve identified 15 players Philadelphia could target if they trade down in round one.

Potential Bengals draft pick Zion Johnson posts 32 bench press reps…barefoot

Zion Johnson…future Bengals starter?

[mm-video type=video id=01fvt4pxhan3jty9nm7e playlist_id=none player_id=none image=https://images2.minutemediacdn.com/image/upload/video/thumbnail/mmplus/01fvt4pxhan3jty9nm7e/01fvt4pxhan3jty9nm7e-a22df79a2f128452f7d9e08c49fe4c81.jpg]

Boston College OL Zion Johnson, who was recently mocked to the Cincinnati Bengals by Luke Easterling, confirmed his status as a genetic outlier at the Scouting Combine.

Johnson was one of just a handful of players that actually took part in the bench press Friday, as many players are opting out of benching, due in part to the new, rigorous drill schedule for the players of benching and on-field drills on the same day. In the past, players would be on the field the day after benching.

Johnson took the bench by storm, posting 32 reps of 225 pounds. And the best part? He did it barefoot.

Thanks to his great week at the Senior Bowl and now his performance today, Johnson may have solidified his status as a first-round pick. In fact, there’s probably a chance now he may not even be on the board when the Bengals select at No. 31. If he is, he makes even more sense for the Bengals now.
