Boise State at Wyoming odds, picks and predictions

The No. 13 Boise State Broncos (9-1, 6-0 Mountain West) meet the Wyoming Cowboys (2-8, 2-4) at War Memorial Stadium Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (CBS Sports Network). Below, we look at Boise State vs. Wyoming odds from BetMGM Sportsbook’s college football odds and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Boise State extended its winning streak to 8 games, defeating San Jose State 42-21 Nov. 16. The Broncos covered as 14-point road favorites, with the Over (62.5) hitting.

Despite the win, Boise State’s secondary struggled, allowing 446 passing yards. Heisman candidate RB Ashton Jeanty (+400 at BetMGM Sportsbook) had a standout performance, rushing for 159 yards and 3 TDs.

Wyoming fell 24-10 at Colorado State Nov. 15, but failed to cover as a 7.5-point favorite while the Under (47.5) hit.

The Cowboys struggled offensively, totaling just 120 passing yards and 117 rushing yards. Defensively, Wyoming allowed 451 yards, ranking 119th out of 134 NCAA programs.

Boise State at Wyoming picks and predictions

Prediction

Iowa State 30, Cincinnati 21

Moneyline

PASS.

Boise State (-2500) will dominate on the road Saturday, but there’s no way you should bet $2,500 to win $100 in return. I’ll take my bet to the spread.

Against the spread

BET BOISE STATE -22.5 (-110).

Boise State is 5-1-1 ATS in its last 6 games and has dominated Wyoming in recent years, winning 9 of the last 10 meetings. The Broncos are 4-1 on the road during that stretch and have been led by Jeanty, who’s had a remarkable season.

As Boise State pushes for a spot in the College Football Playoff, it should easily handle Wyoming, a team that’s 4-6 ATS this season.

Over/Under

BET OVER 56.5 (-110).

The Over has hit just twice in the last 10 meetings, but the 2024 season has seen a big shift.

Wyoming’s defense ranks 119th in the country, allowing over 450 yards per game and 31 points on average.

Meanwhile, Boise State has gone Over in 2 of its last 3 contests and 7 of its last 10, averaging 38 points per game on the road. For Wyoming, the Over has hit in 6 of its last 10 games, with plenty of points allowed.

Wyoming at Colorado State odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Wyoming Cowboys at Colorado State Rams odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Wyoming Cowboys (2-7, 2-3 Mountain West) and Colorado State Rams (6-3, 4-0) meet Friday. Kickoff from Canvas Stadium is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET (CBS Sports Network). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s college football odds around the Wyoming vs. Colorado State odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Cowboys picked up a thrilling 49-45 win at the New Mexico Lobos last time out on Nov. 2 as a 9-point underdog. While Wyoming is no longer bowl eligible, it isn’t throwing in the towel. The Cowboys have covered a season-high 3 straight, while going 4-1 against the spread (ATS) in the previous 5 outings.

The Rams are already bowl eligible, but they’re unbeaten in the Mountain West and have loftier goals. Colorado State topped the Nevada Wolf Pack 38-21 as a 2.5-point road favorite last time out on Nov. 2, and CSU has covered 6 in a row, The Under has a 3-1 edge in the past 4 tilts.

Wyoming at Colorado State picks and predictions

Prediction

Colorado State 31, Wyoming 20

Moneyline

Colorado State (-350) will set you back 3 1/2 time your potential return, and that’s way too much risk for a standalone wager. Even if you were to include the Rams in a multi-leg parlay, it would suck all of the value out of your ticket.

AVOID.

Against the spread

Back COLORADO STATE -9.5 (-110) laying the points in this Mountain West battle.

The Rams have been on fire against the number, covering 6 in a row. Yes, the Cowboys are equally hot, cashing in 3 in a row, and 4 of the past 5 games. However, Wyoming is 2-2 ATS in 4 road games this season.

Over/Under

OVER 46.5 (-110) is the play in Fort Collins on Friday night.

The Over cashed for Wyoming in the ABQ last time, as the Pokes and Lobos combined for 94 points on a total of just 61. The Over is 5-2 in the past 7 contests for the Cowboys.

For the Rams, the Over cashed last time out on the road against UNR, but the Under has hit at home in each of the past 4 games, so be careful.

BYU at Wyoming odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s BYU at Wyoming odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The BYU Cougars (2-0) are on the road Saturday against the Wyoming Cowboys (0-2) for a non-conference matchup. Kickoff is at 9 p.m. ET from Jonah Field at War Memorial Stadium (CBS Sports Network). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s college football odds around the BYU vs. Wyoming odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

BYU has started out undefeated, beating Southern Illinois 41-13 in the opener and then upsetting SMU on the road last week 18-15. They were 12.5-point underdogs in that matchup.

Wyoming is 0-2. They started the season with a 48-7 road loss to Arizona State. They are coming off a 17-13 home loss to Idaho when they were 7.5-point favorites.

BYU at Wyoming picks and predictions

Prediction

BYU 34, Wyoming 13

Moneyline

Wyoming has struggled this year. Arizona State just ran over them in their opener, going for 241 rushing yards and 499 total yards.

BYU is a similar opponent, having averaged 156.5 rushing yards per game.

The Cowboys have only scored 20 points this season, while the Cougars have not allowed more than 15 through 2 games.

BYU should roll, but there is no reason to bet the moneyline at that price.

PASS.

Against the spread

The Cougars are 2-0 ATS this season, while Wyoming has not yet covered the spread.

BYU has averaged 431.5 yards a game so far. Wyoming has averaged only 194.0. If that keeps up, the game will not be close at all.

BET BYU -10 (-110).

Over/Under

Arizona State put up 48 points alone against Wyoming in their opener, surpassing the 46-point projected total along. BYU scored 41 in its opener.

Both teams saw their game stay Under the projected total last week, but expect BYU to move the ball. As long as Wyoming can hit double digits in points, you should be safe betting the Over.

Wyoming at Arizona State odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Wyoming at Arizona State odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Wyoming Cowboys and Arizona State Sun Devils open their seasons Saturday at Mountain America Stadium in Tempe. Kickoff is scheduled for 10:30 p.m. ET (FS1). Below, we analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Wyoming vs. Arizona State odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Cowboys picked up 9 victories in the final year under legendary coach Craig Bohl. He elected to retire, but the program is in good hands under his hand-picked successor, former defensive coordinator Jay Sawvel.

And the former DC-turned-coach has 7 starters back on that side of the ball, including DL Jordan Bertagnole, DB Wyett Ekeler and LB Shae Suiaunoa. If the name sounds familiar, too, Ekeler is the half-brother of NFL star RB Austin Ekeler of the Washington Commanders.

Wyoming is breaking in a new QB Evan Svoboda as he takes the reins from Andrew Peasley. That likely means, at least early on, there will be a heavy dose of RB Harrison Waylee, the top returning player on offense.

For Arizona State, it moves to the Big 12, and this is the 1st official game as a member of that conference, although not a league game.

Sparky won just 3 games a season ago, and just 2 against FBS opponents. The defense allowed 49 or more points in the final 3 games, including to Arizona and Utah, which have moved over with AZ State to the Pac-12.

To make matters worse, QB Jaden Rashada, of NIL fame, bolted for greener pastures at Georgia, where he is projected as QB3. That likely means a 2-headed QB situation early in the season, with former Michigan State QB Sam Leavitt and Trenton Bourguet seeing reps.

RB Cam Skattebo not only has one of the best names ever for a running back, but he is pretty good, too. WR Jordyn Tyson was discarded by Deion Sanders at Colorado, but he is a talented receiver with pop who will help whomever is under center.

Wyoming at Arizona State picks and predictions

Prediction

Arizona State 24, Wyoming 20

Moneyline

Arizona State (-250) will cost you 2½ times your potential return, and that’s way too risky for not nearly enough reward.

Even as part of a multi-leg parlay, including Sparky is much too risky considering the fact Wyoming (+202) was a bowl team a season ago, while AZ State managed just 2 wins against FBS foes. If this matchup was in Laramie, the Sun Devils likely would be underdogs.

PASS.

Against the spread

Back WYOMING +7.5 (-124), and shop around to make sure you get the hook. Some books are only offering a flat 7.

Arizona State -7.5 (+102) failed to cash last season in its only game as a favorite and is 1-3 ATS in the past 4 as a favorite since blasting rival Arizona as a 20-point favorite in the regular-season finale Nov. 27, 2021.

The Cowboys have actually won in the state of Arizona more recently than the Sun Devils, as Wyoming edged Toledo 16-15 in the Arizona Bowl Dec. 30, 2023, whereas Arizona State’s most recent win in its home state came Oct. 28, 2023, against Washington State.

Over/Under

The UNDER 48.5 (-114) is a strong play. The total varies by as much as a point to a point and a half, so be careful shopping around here, too.

We have a new QB at Wyoming, so expect more of a ground-based attack. That always favors the Under bettor. And, for Arizona State, we have a potential 2-QB system and a new coaching system, with the best offensive player being Skattebo, the tailback. Sparky might also have a run-heavy offense, at least to start. That’s great news for a potential lower-scoring game.

Wyoming at Air Force odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Wyoming at Air Force odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Wyoming Cowboys (5-1, 2-0 Mountain West) and Air Force Falcons (5-0, 3-0) clash Saturday in Colorado Springs. Kickoff from Falcon Stadium is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (CBS Sports Network). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Cowboys vs. Falcons odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Wyoming defeated Fresno State, then ranked No. 24 by the US LBM Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports, as a 6-point underdog last Saturday. A middle-of-the-pack Cowboys rush defense held FSU to just 38 yards, as UW won its 3rd straight game since losing 31-10 to current No. 11 Texas on Sept. 16.

The Falcons figure to test that UW run defense. Air Force runs the ball 60.8 times per game (most in the nation), and it leads FBS tackle football in rushing yards per game (329.8). The Falcons have 4 ball carriers who have registered over 250 yards.

Wyoming at Air Force picks and predictions

Prediction

Air Force 28, Wyoming 14

Moneyline

Too much juice.

AVOID.

Against the spread

Air Force is 5-2 ATS in its last 7 games. Wyoming is 6-12-1 ATS in its last 19 games on the road.

Wyoming took last year’s meeting 17-14 but you can expect Air Force to get a measure of retribution on this contest at home. Both teams like to run the ball a lot. The Cowboys are adequate in succeeding on the ground; Air Force is prolific.

The Falcons are exceptional when it comes to staying on schedule. Their 5.4 yards per carry helps, and so do some well-timed, change-of-pace pass plays (82.0 YPG). Air Force piles up chain-moving drives with a 4-down philosophy, and when it reaches the red zone, it converts. USAFA’s 85% touchdown rate in the red zone ranks 2nd in the nation.

Air Force is quite good at defending on 1st downs and limiting big plays. UW’s 35.2% 3rd-down conversion rate ranks 11th in the MWC.

Look for some stalled Wyoming drives and an early Air Force lead. The Cowboys’ pass game and Falcons’ aerial defense is not a good match-up for the visitors, and that lead growing past a couple of scores is likely enough.

BACK THE FALCONS -11.5 (-110).

Over/Under

The projected game flow makes the Over stand out, but the slow pace of each team needs to be respected. Forty-one is a big key number in totals betting. An Over 40.5 would make for some partial-unit interest. But PASS on the current offering.

Fresno State at Wyoming odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Fresno State at Wyoming odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Fresno State Bulldogs (5-0, 1-0 MWC) and the Wyoming Cowboys (4-1, 1-0) meet Saturday at Jonah Field at War Memorial Stadium in Laramie, Wyo. Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET (FOX). Below, we analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Fresno State vs. Wyoming odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Bulldogs struggled a bit in a 27-9 win over a winless Nevada team last weekend, failing to cover a 25.5-point number as the Under (50.5) cashed. Still, Fresno State’s defense has locked it down in the past 3 games, allowing a total of just 19 points, or 6.3 points per game (PPG). It’s no surprise the Under is 2-1 in those 3 outings.

The Cowboys kicked off the season with an exciting 35-33 win in overtime at Jonah Field, cashing outright as a 13.5-point underdog.  Ironically, Wyoming also covered at Texas, and it is 2-0 against the spread (ATS) in 2 games against opponents from the Lone Star State, and from the Big 12, while going 0-2-1 ATS against everybody else.

Fresno State is No. 24 in the US LBM Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

Fresno State at Wyoming picks and predictions

Prediction

Fresno State 24, Wyoming 17

Moneyline

Fresno State (-235) will cost you nearly 2 1/2 times your potential return, and that’s too much risk for not enough return. Wyoming (+195) is very good at protecting its home field, going 4-0 SU in 4 tries so far this season, although the Cowboys have lost its only game against a ranked opponent.

PASS, and look to the spread instead.

Against the spread

FRESNO STATE -6.5 (-105) has covered 3 of 5 games overall, and the defense has been electric lately. That includes a 29-0 shutout at Arizona State, a Power 5 opponent on the road. And it allowed just 9 points, including a safety by Nevada, last week.

Wyoming +6.5 (-115) is just 1-2-1 ATS in the past 4 games, including 0-2-1 ATS in the past 3 outings in Laramie since its huge upset win in the opener against the Red Raiders.

Over/Under

UNDER 43.5 (-105) is a solid play in this Mountain West showdown.

We’ve touched on Fresno State’s tremendous defensive effort lately, with the Under going 2-1 in the past 3 games, including its only conference game. However, Wyoming has hit the Under in 3 of the past 4 games, with the offense averaging just 22.3 PPG in the past 3 contests.

The Under has cashed in each of the past 4 meetings in this series, and 6-1 across the past 7 overall, with the winning side pitching a shutout in the past 2 battles. In fact, the losing team in the past 4 meetings has scored 7 or fewer points, and we have had a total of just 97 points in the past 4 meetings, or 24.3 PPG.

The No. 6 Texas Longhorns (2-0) welcome the Wyoming Cowboys (2-0) to Darrell K Royal Memorial Stadium Saturday. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Wyoming vs. Texas odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Longhorns are coming off a huge 34-24 win on the road against now-No. 10 Alabama Crimson Tide, covering as a 7-point underdog. Texas opened the season with a 37-10 win over Rice, but failed to cover as a 35.5-point favorite. It is led by NFL prospect QB Quinn Ewers, who has 6 TDs and 609 yards passing in 2 games. Texas is No. 6 in the US LBM Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

Wyoming beat Texas Tech 35-33 at home to kick off the season, covering as a 13.5-point underdog. It then beat Portland State 31-17 in Week 2 action, but did not cover as a 28-point favorite. The Cowboys are led by QB Andrew Peasley, who has 5 TDs and 1 INT in 2 games. He is a dual-threat option and has 111 rushing yards as well.

Wyoming at Texas picks and predictions

Prediction

Texas 45, Wyoming 17

Moneyline

PASS.

There’s nothing to see here. While it is tempting, do not include Texas in your moneyline parlays.

Against the spread

LEAN WYOMING +29.5 (-105).

The Longhorns are coming off a captivating win at Alabama, but as a favorite this season, they are 0-1 ATS. This is a large spread against a Wyoming team that has a win over a Big 12 side, one that lost to top-15 Oregon by 8 in Week 2. Wyoming is 1-0 ATS as an underdog as well.

Wyoming QB Peasley has a terrific 6:1 TD-to-INT ratio. He should be able to keep this game somewhat close.

Take WYOMING +29.5 (-105) to cover this massive spread.

Over/Under

BET OVER 48.5 (-110).

Wyoming has a good mix of offensive potency and turnover-forcing defense that should help it aid the total. It has 3 fumbles through 2 games (4 total turnovers) and Wyoming has tallied at least 31 points in each of its 1st 2 games. Both teams are 1-1 O/U this season with Texas having scored at least 34 points in each of its 1st 2 games as well.

The quarterbacks have combined for 1 INT in 2 weeks and should play turnover-free football which will help possessions to continue and points on the board. Back OVER 48.5 (-110).

Texas Tech at Wyoming odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Texas Tech at Wyoming odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The No. 24 Texas Tech Red Raiders will kick off the college football season against the Wyoming Cowboys Saturday. Kickoff from Jonah Field at War Memorial Stadium is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET (CBS). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Texas Tech vs. Wyoming odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Red Raiders produced an 8-5 record in 2022 — the first season the program tallied more than 7 wins since 2013. Texas Tech would go on to defeat Ole Miss in the Texas Bowl last season, giving the program something to build off of entering the 2023 campaign. Texas Tech enters the season as the No. 24 ranked team in the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll.

The Cowboys notched a 7-6 record for the 2nd straight year in 2022. Wyoming would sustain a narrow loss to Ohio in the Arizona Bowl to finish its season, earning the program a bowl game bid in 5 of the last 7 seasons.

Texas Tech at Wyoming picks and predictions

Prediction

Texas Tech 31, Wyoming 14

Moneyline

The Red Raiders should come out firing in Week 1 of the college football season, but I’ll PASS on their moneyline in this contest. Wagering on Texas Tech (-550) at the current odds isn’t worth the risk.

Against the spread

TEXAS TECH -14 (-110) is the play in this matchup as the Red Raiders should have an impressive aerial attack with QB Tyler Shough set to start under center. Wyoming doesn’t have the offense to keep pace with Texas Tech.

Over/Under

Nothing indicates that the Cowboys are going to have a much-improved offense from a season ago that averaged only 20.3 points per game (26th fewest in the nation), making UNDER 50.5 (-110) the pick in this game. The Red Raiders will jump out to an early lead and then take their foot off the gas in the second half to help the Under hit.

Wyoming at San Diego State odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Wyoming at San Diego State odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Wyoming Cowboys (9-20, 4-13 MWC) battle the No. 19 San Jose State Aztecs (23-6, 14-3) Saturday. Tip from Viejas Arena is set for 10 p.m. ET (CBS Sports Network). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Wyoming vs. San Diego State odds, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and bets.

Rankings courtesy of the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll.

San Diego State beat Wyoming 80-75 on the road on Jan. 7, failing to cover as an 8.5-point favorite as the Over (133.5) hit.

The Aztecs had a 6-game win streak snapped with a 66-60 loss at Boise State Tuesday, failing to cover as 2.5-point underdogs. They are 4-2-1 against the spread (ATS) over their last 7 games to improve to 12-14-2 ATS on the season.

The Cowboys are last in the Mountain West Conference and are just 2-6 over their last 8 contests. They are 3-5 ATS along that span, including 2-2 ATS on the road. Wyoming is 10-17-1 ATS on the season.

Wyoming at San Diego State picks and predictions

Prediction

San Diego State 76, Wyoming 61

Moneyline

The moneyline was OTB at the time of publication.

However, even when it opens there will be value on the San Diego State moneyline. AVOID.

Against the spread

LEAN SAN DIEGO STATE -14.5 (-115).

The Cowboys are just 2-4 ATS as a road underdog this season. They have also struggled in conference play, posting just a 7-10 ATS record.

The Aztecs are 9-7-1 ATS in MWC competition, 11-12-2 ATS this season as a favorite and 3-2 ATS following a loss.

The Cowboys are just 1-3 ATS over their last 4 games and 2-3 ATS over their last 5 road games. Considering the weakness on the road and as an underdog, back SAN DIEGO STATE -14.5 (-115).

Over/Under

BET OVER 135.5 (-105).

The Cowboys are 7-3 O/U in their last 10 games and 3-1 O/U in their last 4. They are also 6-2 O/U in road games. Their defense ranks 301st in the nation in opponents’ field goal percentage (46%).

These teams are a combined 19-15 O/U in conference play as well. Although San Diego State’s trends point towards the Under, the porous Wyoming defense is worth betting against.

Back the OVER 135.5 (-105).

Nevada at Wyoming picks and predictions

Prediction

Nevada 74, Wyoming 66

Moneyline

The moneyline was off the board at the time of publishing. Even if it was available, Nevada would likely be too expensive and not worth pursuing.

AVOID.

Against the spread

NEVADA -5.5 (-110) is a strong play, as the Wolf Pack tries to keep its faint Mountain West regular-season championship hopes alive.

The Wolf Pack is 22-8-2 ATS in the last 32 games overall, while going 7-3 ATS in the last 10 against teams with a losing record.

Wyoming +5.5 (-110) is 2-5 ATS in the last 7 games overall, and 2-7 ATS in the last 9 against teams with a winning overall mark.

Over/Under

OVER 138.5 (-105) is the lean, but go lightly.

The Over is 9-2 in the last 11 for Nevada games against a team with a winning percentage of .400 or under. For Wyoming, the Over is 11-4 in the last 15 games overall, while cashing at a 9-4 clip in the previous 13 against teams with a winning overall record.
