Arizona Bowl: Ohio vs. Wyoming odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Ohio vs. Wyoming odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Ohio Bobcats (9-4) and the Wyoming Cowboys (7-5) face off in Tucson on Friday in the Barstool Sports Arizona Bowl. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Ohio vs. Wyoming odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Bobcats had a strong season, going on a 7-game winning streak before losing to Toledo in the MAC Championship. They had a 9-4 record against the spread (ATS), going 8-1 in their final 9 games. Ohio had an Over/Under record of 7-5-1 and scored more than 50 points twice. The current O/U of 41 would be the lowest total for an Ohio game, by over 10 points, in its last 10 games.

QB Kurtis Rourke led the Bobcats offense with 3,256 yards and 25 passing TDs with an additional 4 TDs and 249 rushing yards before suffering a season-ending knee injury. QB CJ Harris took over the offense, which leaned more on RB Sieh Bangura (940 rushing  yards, 12 TDs). The Ohio offense ranked 37th in the nation with 424.3 yards per game and its defense ranked 116th, giving up 437.4 YPG.

Wyoming lost its final 2 games of the season after a 4-game win streak. The Cowboys finished the season with a 6-6 record ATS and an Over/Under record of 5-7. The Under hit in each of their final 5 games. The current O/U of 41 would be the 2nd-lowest point total in their last 10 games.

QB Andrew Peasley threw for 1,388 yards and 9 TDs tand rushed for 330 yards and 2 TDs. RB Titus Swen was the star of the Cowboys offense with 1,039 yards and 8 TDs. The Wyoming offense ranked 118th with 315.5 YPG and its defense ranked 57th, allowing 369.3 YPG.

  • Moneyline (ML): Ohio -135 (bet $135 to win $100) | Wyoming +115 (bet $100 to win $115)
  • Against the spread (ATS): Ohio -2.5 (-111) | Wyoming +2.5 (-109)
  • Over/Under (O/U): 41.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

Ohio vs. Wyoming picks and predictions

Prediction

Ohio 27, Wyoming 24

Moneyline

BET OHIO (-135).

The Bobcats’ offense was rolling prior to the MAC Championship, scoring 32-plus points in their previous 4 games. Expect Harris and company to come out strong and look to attack a Cowboys rush defense that gave up 149.5 yards per game.

Against the spread

LEAN OHIO -2.5 (-111).

The Bobcats are 8-1 ATS in their last 9 games. Wyoming is 4-0 ATS in its last 4 bowl games, but closed its season 1-3 ATS in its last 4 games. This game should remain close with the Bobcats edging the Cowboys for an ATS victory.

Over/Under

BET OVER 41.5 (-110).

Both teams combined have had an O/U line of under 41 in just 1 of their last 20 combined games. Escaping the cold weather and playing in ideal Arizona conditions, each team should find success on offense whether it be on the ground for Ohio or primarily through the air for Wyoming.

The Over is 4-0 in the Bobcats last 4 non-conference games and 4-0 in Wyoming’s last 4 games against MAC teams.

Boise State at Wyoming odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Boise State at Wyoming odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Boise State Broncos (7-3, 6-0 MWC) meet the Wyoming Cowboys (7-3, 5-1) Saturday at Jonah Field at War Memorial Stadium in Laramie, Wyo. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (CBS Sports Network). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Boise State vs. Wyoming odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Broncos throttled Nevada in Reno last week by a 41-3 score, covering a 21-point number while staying unbeaten in the Mountain Division standings in the MWC. Boise State can clinch a spot in the MWC Championship Game with a win Saturday.

The Cowboys kept their Mountain Division hopes alive with a 14-13 win at Colorado State last week, its 4th straight victory since its only conference loss at home against San Jose State Oct. 1. The Under has cashed in 3 in a row for Wyoming.

Boise State at Wyoming picks and predictions

Prediction

Boise State 23, Wyoming 18

Moneyline

Boise State (-600) will cost you 6 times your potential return, and that’s quite expensive on the road.

While the Broncos lead the all-time series 15-1, winning each of the past 5 meetings dating back to 2016, there is more on the line here perhaps than at any other time in the history of the series.

PASS.

Against the spread

WYOMING +14 (-107) is worth playing with the points, especially if this number should creep up any higher.

The Cowboys have won just once in the series, posting a 30-28 win in Laramie back on Oct. 29, 2016. While Boise State has dominated the series straight up, Wyoming is 6-1 ATS in the past 7 meetings, with the underdog also going 6-1 ATS during the stretch.

Over/Under

Play UNDER 44.5 (-107), but go lightly.

The Under is 6-1 in the past 7 meetings in this series. The Under has dominated for Boise State lately, too, cashing in 11 of the past 16 games inside the conference.

The forecast is for temperatures in the upper teens with wind chill in the single digits thanks to breezy conditions. We should see plenty of running on both sides, keeping the clock running and the scores down.

Wyoming at Colorado State odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Wyoming at Colorado State odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Wyoming Cowboys (6-3, 4-1 MWC) and Colorado State Rams (2-7, 2-3) meet Saturday. Kickoff at Canvas Stadium in Fort Collins is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (CBSSN). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s lines around the Wyoming vs. Colorado State odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Wyoming heads to CSU off a bye week. The Cowboys won their 3rd straight game 27-20 at Hawaii Oct. 29, although they failed to cover as 12.5-point favorites. Wyoming piled up 365 yards on the ground in the victory, and it ran for 330 yards the previous week. The Cowboys rank 2nd in the MWC in both rushing yards per game (194.0) and yards per carry (5.0).

The Rams played San Jose State tough on the road last Saturday, losing 28-16 as 23.5-point underdogs. A troubled Colorado State offense cranked out a season-high 468 total yards in that game. For the season, CSU ranks 11th in the conference in total offense (278.7 YPG) and 12th in scoring (12.9 points per game).

Wyoming at Colorado State picks and predictions

Prediction

Wyoming 27, Colorado State 17

Moneyline

No leverage is to be gained here. PASS.

Against the spread

Wyoming wants to run the ball a lot. The Cowboys are good at staying on schedule through early downs, and this CSU defense likely won’t stand much in the way. In red-zone defense, the Rams have been awful. Overall, they’ve allowed 31.7 PPG (110th FBS).

The Cowboys — 5-1 ATS in the last 6 games of this series — will look to bounce back strong after a shaky game in Honolulu and a bye week.

TAKE WYOMING -8.5 (-110).

Over/Under

The Over is 3-1 in the last 4 head-to-head meetings. It is also 5-1 across the Cowboys’ last 6 games following an ATS loss and it’s 6-0-1 in the Rams’ last 7 games in November.

The Wyoming offense is decent but gettable for a couple of scores in a game where the Rams figure to be chasing. CSU’s defense in the red zone and some short-field expectations make for value on the Over.

BACK THE OVER 42.5 (-112).

Wyoming at BYU odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Wyoming at BYU odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Wyoming Cowboys (3-1) and the No. 23 BYU Cougars (2-1) meet at LaVell Edwards Stadium Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 10:15 p.m. ET (ESPN2). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s lines around the Wyoming vs. BYU odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

(Rankings courtesy of the AFCA Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports).

Wyoming RB Titus Swen ran for a late 4th-quarter go-ahead TD in a 17-14 win at home vs. the Air Force Falcons in a Mountain West Conference opener on Sept. 16. The Cowboys won straight up as 16.5-point underdogs and held Air Force’s No. 1 ranked rushing offense to just 171 yards.

BYU’s run game has struggled in its last 2 contests vs. the No. 18 Oregon Ducks and the No. 17 Baylor Bears. The Cougars finished with a combined 144 yards on the ground the last 2 weeks, a far cry from the 300 yards they generated in their season opener at the South Florida Bulls on Sept. 3.

BYU at Wyoming picks and predictions

Prediction

BYU 35, Wyoming 10

Money line

PASS.

BYU (-1800) money line should hit as the Cougars have not lost at home to Wyoming since 1987. However, risking $1,800 to profit $100 is not worth it.

Against the spread

BET BYU -21.5 (-112).

BYU’s run game and defense should bounce back vs. a Wyoming team that’s due for a let-down after an emotional underdog win.

The Cougars are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games after allowing 40+ points in their previous game. Expect BYU to come out more focused than Wyoming and to win by margin. Lay the points.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 49.5 (-105).

Wyoming will have a hard time scoring vs. a BYU defense that is looking to make a statement after giving up 41 points at Oregon.

The Under is 5-1 in Wyoming’s last 6 games following a win, meaning the Cowboys’ offense should struggle after pulling off an unlikely upset vs. Air Force.

BYU’s offense controlling the clock with the run game should help the Under hit while its defense gets Wyoming’s offense off the field quickly.

Air Force at Wyoming odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Air Force at Wyoming odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Air Force Falcons (2-0, 0-0 MWC) and the Wyoming Cowboys (2-1, 0-0 MWC) meet Friday at Jonah Field at War Memorial Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET (CBS Sports Network). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s lines around the Air Force vs. Wyoming school odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Falcons topped Northern Iowa in the opener, easily covering a 15-point number in a 48-17 victory as the Over hit. That was impressive enough, beating a top-tier FCS team. However, beating Colorado last week by a 41-10 score was even more impressive.

Air Force fired out to a 20-0 lead, and led wire to wire, piling up 435 rushing yards on 70 attempts. It held Colorado to just 111 rushing yards and 51 yards through the air, as the Falcons’ D shined through.

After a 38-6 blowout loss at Illinois in Week 0, Wyoming returned home with a pair of wins over Tulsa and Northern Colorado. The Cowboys are just 1-2 ATS, and the Over has hit in 2 of 3 outings.

Air Force at Wyoming picks and predictions

Prediction

Air Force 31, Wyoming 17

Money line

Air Force (-750) hits the road as the moderate favorite, and it will cost you more than 7 times your potential return. That’s just too risky on the road, even against a Wyoming team that has struggled at times.

AVOID.

Against the spread

WYOMING +14.5 (-112) looked much better at home in 2 games than it did on the road in the opener. The offense is slowly starting to come around, especially the run game, and the Cowboys have been able to slow down the rush.

Wyoming has allowed just 112.0 rushing yards per game through 3 outings, so it should be able to at least slow Air Force’s top rushing attack.

In addition, Air Force is a dismal 2-10 ATS in the past 12 meetings between these teams, including 0-5 ATS in the past 5 meetings in Laramie.

Over/Under

The OVER 46.5 (-112) is the lean here, but play it lightly.

While the Over has cashed in 6 in a row for the Falcons and gone 4-1 in their past 5 road outings, the Under is 4-1 in the past 5 against winning teams.

The Under is 20-7-1 in the past 28 games for the Cowboys against winning teams while going 11-3 in the past 14 meetings against the Falcons.

Northern Colorado at Wyoming odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Northern Colorado at Wyoming odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Wyoming Cowboys (1-1) welcome the Northern Colorado Bears (0-1) to War Memorial Stadium Saturday. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s lines around the Northern Colorado at Wyoming odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Wyoming is entering this matchup with a win on the season, but it was brutally beaten down by Illinois in its opener, losing 38-6. It did win over AAC side Tulsa 40-37 in its 2nd game.

The Cowboys are led by redshirt junior QB Andrew Peasley, who transferred from Utah State. He threw for over 250 yards and 2 touchdowns against the Hurricanes.

As for Northern Colorado, it lost to Houston Baptist 46-34. Despite having a 20-point fourth quarter and 7-6 lead at the end of the first, the Bears still struggled to keep up.

They were led by both QB Jacob Sirmon and QB Dylan McCaffrey, each of which threw for over 175 yards and 2 touchdowns.  Northern Colorado will be heavy underdogs.

Northern Colorado at Wyoming picks and predictions

Prediction

Wyoming 38, Northern Colorado 17

Money line

PASS.

There’s just no value. Upsets happen, but I wouldn’t bank on one here.

Against the spread

BET NORTHERN COLORADO +24.5 (-112).

Wyoming was crushed by Illinois and then went to overtime with Tulsa. It hasn’t necessarily had quality showings. Northern Colorado can’t say the same, but it does have some talent on the roster.

One of their two used quarterbacks, McCaffrey, was a four-star recruit that transferred to UNC to play for his father, who is the head coach of the Bears. His talent may be able to keep this game within 4 scores.

Their starting RB Elijah Dotson is also a graduate transfer, so the Bears, despite struggling to open the season, do have experience and talent on their roster.

Also, Wyoming didn’t have many big-time wins last season, not beating either the Independent (UConn) or FCS (Montana State) by more than 3 scores.

Wyoming hasn’t beaten a Sun Belt team by 24 or more since Texas State in 2017 (having played 2 other Sun Belt teams since then).

Over/Under

LEAN OVER 46.5 (-115).

The Bears didn’t play an efficient game and still put up 34 points. The Cowboys can say the same as they put up 40 points on the Hurricanes without having a player rush for over 45 yards.

With McCaffrey and a lacking defense, the Bears are certainly likely to get some garbage time scores as well.

The Cowboys would’ve barely missed this total in their opener but should be in control for most of this game, and without a strong run game, they could opt to keep the pass game hot and blow out the Bears at home.

Combine both teams’ hot offense in their last game, and I’d preferably play the OVER 46.5 (-115) here.

Wyoming at Illinois odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Wyoming Cowboys at Illinois Fighting’ Illini odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Wyoming Cowboys open the season Saturday against the Illinois Fighting Illini at Memorial Stadium in Champaign, Ill. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. ET (BTN). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s lines around the Wyoming vs. Illinois odds, and make our expert college football picks, predictions and bets.

The Cowboys were hit hard by defections via the transfer portal, including star RB Xazavian Valladay, who is now at Arizona State. Wyoming must start anew under center, too, losing productive WR Isaiah Neyer to Texas. It will be a slow go for the Pokes early on.

The Fighting Illini turn to former Syracuse starting QB Tommy DeVito to try and snap a streak of 10 consecutive seasons with a losing record. Illinois made some strides down the stretch, and new offensive coordinator Barry Lunney Jr. is a good add to Bret Bielema’s staff.

Wyoming at Illinois picks and predictions

Prediction

Illinois 25, Wyoming 12

Money line

Illinois (-520) is expected to be a little better this season, and should challenge for bowl eligibility. Wyoming (+370) was crushed by the transfer portal, and have a lot of big shoes to fill. Look for the Illini to get off to a quick start in this one, the 1st-ever meeting between these universities.

However, risking more than 5 times your potential return isn’t a recommended strategy normally, but especially on a team like the Illini, which has had limited success recently.

AVOID.

Against the spread

Take ILLINOIS -10.5 (-115), not so much because the Illini will be a powerhouse, but because Wyoming +10.5 (-105) is expected to struggle out of the gate.

The Illini pushed as a double-digit favorite last season against Charlotte, winning 24-14 as a 10-point fave on Oct. 2. The last time the Illini won as a double-digit fave was Nov. 2, 2019, against Rutgers 38-10. They’re actually 3-1 ATS since the start of the 2019 campaign as a favorite of 10 or more points.

Over/Under

The UNDER 43.5 (-103) is the lean in this matchup, but play it lightly.

In this day and age of college football, playing Unders in risky business. But Wyoming is going to struggle to move the chains, and Illinois isn’t exactly an offensive juggernaut.

Indiana went just 2-7 from Feb. 5-March 5, but the Hoosiers acquitted themselves well enough in the Big Ten Tournament to earn a berth in Dayton. Indiana defeated Michigan 74-69 and current-No. 16-ranked Illinois 65-63 before falling in a close game 80-77 against No. 19 Iowa in the semifinals. IU led the Hawkeyes by 8 points with fewer than 5 minutes to play.

Wyoming built up enough credit with 11 Quad 1-2 victories to withstand a 4-5 mark down the stretch before bowing out to Boise State in the Mountain West tourney to make it into the NCAA field. The Cowboys excel at both ends of the free-throw frequency exchange, in and around the paint on offense, and in defending the arc at the other end. Wyoming is making its second NCAA appearance since 2002.

Indiana vs. Wyoming odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Indiana 70, Wyoming 65

Money line

PASS.

Indiana is a consideration at -165, but don’t figure on the line movement needed to put that price on the board.

Against the spread

The Hoosiers have won four in a row ATS. Wyoming is 1-4 ATS in its last five.

Wyoming’s offense has been stifled of late and hurt by turnovers recently, shooting just 38.5% from the field across seven games since Feb. 23. The Cowboys play their home games at high elevation, and they have a sharper-than-average home-road differential.

Indiana is a young team playing much better late-season ball under first-year head coach Mike Woodson. Look for IU’s athleticism to force some easy turnover-transition looks and for the Hoosiers — who just may be the sixth- or seventh-best team in this possibly loose East bracket — to advance with a win by 4 or more points.

BACK INDIANA -3.5 (-115).

Over/Under

The mid-paced Hoosiers and slow-down Cowboys are producing a total low enough to leverage on the high side. Some positive shooting regression, transition-game buckets, and a decent expectation for a lot of foul shots makes for a moderate lean on the OVER 132.5 (-110).

Wyoming at Colorado State odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Wednesday’s Wyoming Cowboys at Colorado State Rams odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets in a Mountain West battle.

The Wyoming Cowboys (22-4, 11-2 Mountain West) visit the Colorado State Rams (21-4, 11-4) Wednesday at Moby Arena in Fort Collins, Colo. Tip-off is scheduled for 9 p.m. ET (CBSSN). Below, we look at the Wyoming vs. Colorado State odds and lines, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and bets.

The Cowboys are coming off a 75-67 win against Air Force, although they’ve failed to cover their last two games. Wyoming lost 75-66 at New Mexico Feb. 15 in its most recent road outing.

The Rams are likely champing at the bit to get back on the court after getting routed 72-51 at UNLV Saturday in their last action. It was the team’s first loss since falling 84-78 in overtime Jan. 31 at Wyoming.

Wyoming at Colorado State odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Colorado State 74, Wyoming 70

Money line

Colorado State (-280) is too expensive on the money line, costing you over two and a half times your potential return.

PASS.

Against the spread

WYOMING +6.5 (-115) is worth a small-unit play. The Cowboys are catching over three baskets in a game which should be super competitive and close. These teams are nearly a mirror of each other, and the last time they faced each other the game was decided in overtime.

Colorado State might have given bettors a lot more confidence until getting pounded last time out in Las Vegas against the Runnin’ Rebels. It should be much better at home, but the safe play is taking the Cowboys to lasso the cash.

Over/Under

The UNDER 144.5 (-110) is the lean, ever so slightly. The Under has cashed in each of the past seven on the road for Wyoming while going 13-5 in the last 18 games overall for Colorado State.

The last time these teams played, we saw the Over cash, but that was also decided in overtime. We should see a lower score in this one.

Colorado State at Wyoming odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Monday’s Colorado State Rams at Wyoming Cowboys odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The No. 22 Colorado State Rams (16-2, 6-2 MWC) lock horns and match wits with the Wyoming Cowboys (16-3, 5-1) Monday in Laramie, Wyo. The battle at Arena Auditorium is slated to tip off at 8 p.m. ET (on FS1). Below, we look at the Colorado State vs. Wyoming odds and lines, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and bets.

Colorado State was stunned as a 14-point home favorite in an 88-74 loss to UNLV 88-74. The Rebels had logged just one prior road win before the upset. CSU was undone by a UNLV squad that shot 41.4% (12-for-29) behind the 3-point line. The loss snapped a five-game win streak for the Rams.

After a 65-62 loss at first-place Boise State Tuesday, Wyoming bounced back with a 63-61 triumph at Air Force Friday. The Cowboys covered as 5-point underdogs at the Broncos but failed to cover the spread as 7.5-point favorites in the win vs. the Falcons. The slow-down Cowboys own the nation’s eighth-best, home-floor effective field-goal rate (59.7%).

Colorado State at Wyoming odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Colorado State 75. Wyoming 72

Money line

TAKE COLORADO STATE (-117).

Look for CSU to bounce back from its shaky Friday loss. Wyoming opponents have been abysmal from 3-point range, and the defense is likely just due partial credit there.

Wyoming plays at a slower end of the tempo scale, and that has suited the Rams just fine most of the season.

Against the spread

The Cowboys are 1-6-1 ATS in their last eight home games against foes playing .600 ball on the road. The Rams are 8-4 ATS vs. winning teams.

Consider the ML wager the best play, but more aggressive bettors may want to back the RAMS -1.5 (-102).

Over/Under

AVOID.

Recent O/U results for both bear out the fact it has been difficult to peg either as a decent Over or Under candidate.
