Wide receiver Isaac Smith enters the transfer portal

Former three-star recruit Isaac Smith has entered the transfer portal.

To the surprise of nobody, Badgers wide receiver Isaac Smith entered the transfer portal on Tuesday.

Smith was a member of Wisconsin’s 2020 recruiting class that also featured WR’s Chimere Dike and Devin Chandler.

The former three-star recruit never appeared in a game during his two seasons at Wisconsin.

The program is currently overhauling their receiver room, having brought in three wideouts in the 2022 class, moved Dean Engram over from the defense, and added one (Keontez Lewis) in the transfer portal.

The redshirt-freshman will now look for a better opportunity to see the field.

Wisconsin 2022 QB commit Myles Burkett continues to light up the Badger State

The future Badger has had a tremendous season with Franklin

Wisconsin 2022 QB commit Myles Burkett took an official visit to Madison on June 17. Since that official visit, he has yet to lose a high school game at Franklin.

Burkett’s senior season with the Franklin Sabers is off to a perfect 10-0 start, as this week his team won their WIAA Level 1 playoff game over Milwaukee Riverside in a 62-12 route.

Burkett has been close to perfect on the year, throwing for 28 touchdowns and only a pair of interceptions, rushing for 7.9 yards per carry and four rushing touchdowns, and helping to lead his team to an unblemished record through ten weeks.

The three-star prospect will be a Wisconsin Badger next season, but will hope to finish out his high school career with a state championship. Burkett and the Sabers take on Oak Creek this Friday in their WIAA Level 2 playoff game.

Wisconsin offers 2023 RB Kalib Hicks

The Badgers offered a 2023 RB out of Texas

Wisconsin has kept the offers rolling over the past few weeks, and added to their 2023 list on Thursday.

The Badgers extended an offer to 2023 RB Kalib Hicks out of Denton, Texas. Hicks is a 5-foot-11 speedster with an already impressive offer list after his sophomore season. The three-star recruit per 247Sports has offers from the likes of Colorado, New Mexico, San Diego State, SMU, and TCU.

Hicks won the Texas 5A D-I state championship as a sophomore with Denton High School. He also competes in track, and put up an 11.64 100-meter time during his sophomore year.

Wisconsin 2021 signee Braelon Allen will change positions upon arrival to Madison

A future Badger is changing his position

Sometimes the numbers lie. Sometimes, however, those numbers are so wildly insane that they can only be telling the truth. The latter applies to what Wisconsin 2021 signee Braelon Allen did at Fond Du Lac High School during the Badger State’s spring season.

[lawrence-related id=31197]

Allen rushed for over 1,000 yards in seven games while also starring on the defensive side of the ball. With such a dominant offensive season, questions swirled about where the Badgers would place their four-star signee. 247Sports lists Allen as a linebacker, but the Wisconsin native has worked in a safety/LB hybrid role in high school.

The initial thought was Allen would enter Madison as a safety, but a report from Rivals’ BadgerBlitz.com reporter Jon McNamara Thursday morning, which BadgersWire has confirmed, is shaking things up.

Allen will start his Badger career at running back:

While it’s too early to know if this is a short-term experiment or something Wisconsin intends to stick with through Allen’s career, his numbers running the football at Fond Du Lac should turn heads. Allen will start his Badger career next month as he reports to Madison for the summer.

Wisconsin offers a 2023 WR from Texas

The Badgers are in on a WR from Texas

Wisconsin football is already beginning to send out 2023 offers, and the Badgers are in on a wide receiver from Texas. Earlier today on Twitter, Kaleb Black announced an offer from the Badgers:

Black resided in Spring, Texas and plays his high school football at Klein Oak. Wisconsin is joined by Kansas, Tulsa, Houston, and others in offering and pursuing the 2023 talent. In 2020, he was named the District 15-6A Offensive Newcomer of the Year as a sophomore after transferring from Cy Creek.

The future Badger put up crazy numbers

In one of the most dominant high school seasons you will ever see, Wisconsin 2021 signee Braelon Allen made the most of spring football in the Badger State. His Fond Du Lac team went a perfect 7-0, capped off by a 71-47 win over traditional powerhouse Kimberly this past week.

Although Allen is coming to the Badgers on the defensive side of the football, the offensive numbers are as good as it gets around the nation. The future Badger carried the ball 71 times and racked up 1039 rushing yards for an average of 14.6 yards per carry. Allen finished with 23 total touchdowns and 135 receiving yards. Keep in mind that all of this came in just seven games.

Allen racked up 44 total tackles, including some vicious hits. He also had a forced fumble and an interception to his name.

After an incredible final ride at Fond Du Lac, the four-star recruit will make his way to Madison this summer to begin his Badger journey.

Wisconsin football lands in the top six for a 2022 WR

The Badgers land in the top six for a 2022 WR

Wisconsin made another top list when Michigan native Tommy McIntosh listed the Badgers as part of his final six schools via Twitter.

The class of 2022 recruit is a three-star prospect according to 247Sports. He has starred at Dewitt high school in Michigan for the past few seasons.

Alongside Wisconsin are Wake Forest, Cincinnati, Indiana, Iowa, and Vanderbilt. A long offer list for McIntosh has been narrowed down to just six, with the Badgers firmly in the hunt.

Wisconsin football in the final three for an Oregon transfer RB

The Badgers are in the top three for a former Oregon running back

After building a tremendous 2021 class and returning talent all over the offensive side of the ball, Wisconsin is looking to sure up their RB room by adding depth from the transfer portal.

The Badgers lost RB Nakia Watson to the portal, but have rising sophomore Jalen Berger returning to Madison to lead the way. A possible addition to the room may be Oregon transfer RB Cyrus Habibi-Likio, who listed the Badgers in his final three tonight on Twitter:

In an impressive 2019 season, the former three-star recruit per 247Sports finished with 337 rushing yards on 4 yards per carry and 10 touchdowns in Eugene. At 6-foot-1, Habibi-Likio has been used as a powerful back in the red zone and has had a nose for the goal in the Pac-12.

Alongside Wisconsin lies Boise State and Cal, two places with clear connections to the former Duck. Habibi-Likio grew up near Cal in Palo Alto, California, and new Boise State head coach Andy Avalos served as the Oregon defensive coordinator for the past two seasons.

Still, the Badgers provide an opportunity to play behind a talented line in one of college football’s premier conferences. Habibi-Likio has yet to specify when a final decision will be made, but expect news soon about the next destination for the Oregon transfer.

Wisconsin lands the top 2022 Badger state QB to begin their 2022 class

The Badgers land 2022 QB Myles Burkett

Wisconsin’s 2022 class has now officially begun to take shape. After bat signals from the staff, the Badgers alerted us that a 2022 commit was coming.

The first commit in the Badger class of 2022 (if you don’t count signee Braelon Allen who reclassified to 2021) is Myles Burkett, a QB out of Franklin High School in Wisconsin. Burkett is a three-star dual-threat prospect according to both Rivals and 247Sports, and is seen by both websites as the top 2022 QB in the Badger State.

Once a Wisconsin offer came Burkett’s way this month, it was an opportunity he could not pass up. “I’ve gone to Badger games all my life, I’ve got a bunch of red and white gear at my house, and I played on the Badgers pee wee team in 2nd and 3rd grade,” Burkett told BadgersWire back in a “Locked On Badgers” podcast interview.

“I am definitely a homer, I definitely have a soft spot for Wisconsin. Ive been a Wisconsin fan my whole life. An opportunity at Wisconsin is a hard opportunity to say no to.”

The dual-threat QB had offers from Bowling Green, Central Michigan, and Northern Illinois among others while also receiving  serious interest from Louisville. He was recently named the captain of Franklin football for his upcoming senior season, as his team gets ready for 2021.

The Badgers are officially on the board in 2022.

Wisconsin offers a 2021 WR

The Badgers offer another WR in the class of 2021

[lawrence-newsletter]As the Badgers look to round the 2021 class, another offer went out yesterday at the WR position. Texas native Eric Mcalister became the latest Badger target offered in the class of 2021.

This offer comes on the heels of Wisconsin 2021 QB commit Deacon Pe’a Hill telling BadgersWire that Wisconsin was focused on adding WR’s to the class of 2021. Mcalister is a big target at 6-foot-3. During his junior season at Azle High School, he racked up 23 touchdowns and over 1400 yards according to his Hudl film. He uses his size and physicality well to win one on one matchups, but also has the speed to break a short route open. Mcalister currently holds offers from Nebraska, Virginia Tech, Air Force, and Army among others.
