A running list of all the U.S. professional sports stadiums with sportsbooks

The Cleveland Cavaliers are the latest team to get a sportsbook in their arena.

As more states continue to legalize sports betting, professional teams across every league continue to find ways to capitalize on the opportunity for new revenue created by the industry.

One way they’re doing that is by opening sportsbooks on or near the grounds of their home stadiums, hoping to make customers of the fans who wager on sports and potentially convert a few who don’t.

In May 2021, the opening of the William Hill Sportsbook at Capital One Arena in Washington D.C. took another step in that direction as the first sportsbook to operate inside of an arena in the U.S. But while it was the first, it’s not the last. And there will be more to come.

Here’s a look at stadiums in the United States with a sportsbook or sportsbook lounge in or near them.

This list will be updated.

Audi Field (D.C. United)

FanDuel and D.C. United opened a sportsbook at Audi Field on July 8, 2022.

Citi Field (New York Mets)

The Mets and Caesars Entertainment announced a plan to open the Caesars Sportsbook at Metro Grille during the 2022 season.

Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse (Cleveland Cavaliers)

The Caesars Sportsbook at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse opened in January 2023, just after sports betting became legal in Ohio.

United Center (Chicago Bulls & Blackhawks)

The announced FanDuel Sportsbook lounge at the United Center officially opened in October 2022.

State Farm Stadium (Arizona Cardinals)

The BetMGM Sportsbook at State Farm Stadium opened in September 2022 and became the first stadium with a sportsbook to host a Super Bowl later that season.

Nationals Park (Washington Nationals)

The BetMGM Sportsbook at Nationals Park opened in January 2022, becoming the first retail sportsbook connected to a Major League Baseball stadium.

BetFTW previously took a trip there to get a sense of the day-to-day operation.

Footprint Center (Phoenix Suns & Mercury)

In September 2021, the FanDuel Sportsbook lounge inside Footprint Center opened.

Chase Field (Arizona Diamondbacks)

A Caesars Sportsbook opened at the former Game 7 Grill space outside Chase Field in June 2022.

Wrigley Field (Chicago Cubs)

DraftKings announced a Sportsbook at Wrigley Field coming in 2023.

Caesars Sportsbook at Capital One Arena (Washington Wizards & Capitals)

William Hill, now a part of Caesars Entertainment, opened its sportsbook at Capital One Arena in May 2021, becoming the first sportsbook in a U.S. professional sports facility.

Sports book sets line for Dolphins 2020 projected win total

Sports book sets line for Dolphins 2020 projected win total

The NFL offseason is forging ahead as planned — and despite the inactivity on so many fronts due to the coronavirus outbreak, the wheels continue to turn as though the NFL’s 2020 regular season will take place as regularly scheduled, as well. And with that in mind, some of the sports books across the country have begun to turn their eyes towards the 2020 season; especially now that free agency has opened and teams have begun stacking up veteran players to help boost their rosters for the season ahead.

For the Miami Dolphins, this season will serve as a measure of progress. The Dolphins surged to a 5-4 mark over the team’s final 9 contests — and was a two point conversion against the Washington Redskins and a bogus defensive pass interference call against the Jets away from finishing the year 7-5 over their final 12 games. Football, as they say, is just a game of inches.

But for William Hill, the Dolphins 2019 success at the end of the year offers little bearing on what the year ahead holds. The sports book released their 2020 NFL win totals this past week and the Dolphins own the 5th lowest total in the NFL: 6 wins.

With the draft still left to be played out, there’s plenty more improvement for the Dolphins to undergo; but it is definitely surprising to see Miami with such a low number in the face of Tom Brady’s departure from New England and so many other teams picking around the Dolphins in this year’s draft with higher win lines; such as the Chargers’ 7.5 wins and the Lions’ 6.5 wins.

With a last place schedule in the AFC, Miami is set up favorably to make a push for .500 in 2020, although we’ll need to see how the rest of this roster reclamation goes throughout the offseason. For the time being, we’re leaning “over” on six wins, though.

Deontay Wilder, Tyson Fury pitch fight on ESPN; Fury opens as favorite

Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury sell their fight on ESPN college football stage.

It didn’t take long for Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury to find the biggest stage available to hype their heavyweight rematch, which was formally announced late Friday.

Separated by 1,845 miles, Wilder was in Atlanta and Fury in Glendale, Arizona, a Phoenix suburb, to talk about a rematch that hasn’t exactly been a rumor for the last year

Each was part of ESPN’s pre-game show for college football’s championship doubleheader Saturday, first Oklahoma-Louisiana State in Atlanta and then Ohio State-Clemson in Glendale.

“I’m looking forward to setting the record straight,’’ Fury said a few hours before the scheduled kickoff.

The record, of course, is the Wilder-Fury draw more than a year ago – on Dec. 1, 2018 – at Los Angeles’ Staples Center. It was as controversial as it was dramatic, two elements that Fury promoter Bob Arum thinks can generate 2 million pay-per-view buys for the sequel at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand.

He got up – rose – from the canvas after a crushing, right-left combination from Wilder put him on his back in the 12th-round. The crowd roared in appreciation of Fury, especially after years of substance abuse and over-indulgence. Fury’s weight was reported to be at nearly 400 pounds months before the first fight.

“I rose from the canvas like a Phoenix from the ashes,’’ Fury said while seated in a stadium just a few miles from the desert city named after the mythic bird.

Fans loved him for his astonishing resilience. Yet, those same fans hated the scoring, a split draw for a bout in which Fury appeared to dominate most of the rounds with a superior skill set.

That skill set appears to be a factor in the opening odds for the rematch. Fury has been installed as slight favorite by William Hill, a London-based bookmaker. The U.K. heavyweight is a 13-8 favorite, meaning there’s a 60.91 percent possibility of him beating Wilder, according to the bookmaker.

Wilder, of course, has his own ideas, or at least he has a right hand. When it lands, it’s over. It’s a formula that has played out in virtually every Wilder fight other than Fury.

“After February 22nd there will be no more unanswered questions.’’ Wilder said in Tweet. “I will finish what I started, and this time @Tyson_Fury will not be getting up off that canvas so quickly. I’ve proven myself time and time again and I will do it again in February. #WilderFury2’’

How did one bettor turn $5 into $100K?

How one bettor in Las Vegas turned a $5, 15-team parlay into a $100,000 winning bet.

A bettor from San Francisco made his time in Las Vegas pay off big time. He placed a $5 wager on a 15-team NFL parlay in Week 16 and when every leg connected, the bet paid off to the tune of $100,000.

William Hill punched the winning ticket:

The bettor had the Broncos -7, Raiders +6, Falcons -7, Saints -3 and Saints-Titans Over 51, Giants +2, Jets +3, Dolphins -1, Colts -7, Ravens -10, Eagles +3 and Eagles-Cowboys Under 46, Cardinals +10, Chiefs -5 and Packers +4.

And you thought the Bengals almost blew clinching the No. 1 overall pick by scoring 23 points in the fourth quarter? If Miami hadn’t kicked a last-second field goal in overtime, the bet would have been ashes.

Same with the Giants failing to close out Washington in regulation. The overtime TD kept the ticket alive.
