Steelers style plays into the weather perfectly against Bills

The weather for this week’s playoff game works well for the Steelers.

Over the course of the back half of the NFL season, we have seen the Pittsburgh Steelers get old school and turn to a power run game led by an improved offensive line and two-headed rushing attack.

This is ideal considering the weather for this weekend’s Wild Card game against the Buffalo Bills is going to be played in some nasty weather conditions. According to multiple weather reports, the weather in Orchard Park on Sunday is going to be a mix of terrible and awful/

Temps are going to be in the 20s during the game but thanks to 25 mph winds with gusts up around 50 mph, the wind chill is going to be in single digits. Oh and did we mention it was going to be snowing too?

Downfield passing is going to be all but impossible for both of these teams. Those types of winds along with snow in the air are going to really hinder visibility.

This puts a ton of pressure on Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren to keep moving the chains and just grinding out yards.

NFL playoff rooting guide: Creating Ravens fans’ ideal matchup

I asked Ravens fans who they’d want to face in the divisional round of the NFL playoffs to create this wild-card round rooting guide

The Baltimore Ravens are in the playoffs for the third consecutive season. While their obvious goal is to make it to Super Bowl LV and hoist the trophy as confetti rains down, Baltimore has to first win a playoff game. They’ll get the Tennessee Titans in the wild-card round but their opponent in the divisional round of the AFC playoffs is far from decided yet.

To help create this week’s rooting guide, I went to the RavensFlock to get their ideal matchup. With the possibility of facing the Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo Bills, Pittsburgh Steelers, or Cleveland Browns next, fans overwhelmingly chose a three-peat matchup against Pittsburgh.

The decision makes sense on a few levels. The Steelers haven’t looked very good over the last five weeks, losing four games after going 11-0 to start the season. Despite being pretty lackluster in the first matchup and dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak in the second one, Baltimore was able to keep things close against Pittsburgh the two times they met in the regular season. And if everyone’s being honest, it would be great to see the Ravens get a little revenge on the Steelers in the playoffs when the games matter more.

But in order for that matchup to take place, quite a few things need to go in Baltimore’s way. So, let’s break down what needs to happen for the Ravens vs. Steelers playoff game to occur.

11 super bold predictions for Ravens vs. Titans wild-card playoff game

It’s time for the playoffs which means our bold predictions need to get a little bolder. See what we think happens in the Ravens vs. Titans

The Baltimore Ravens get another chance at revenge, taking on the Tennessee Titans for the second time this season and the first time in the postseason since last year’s disappointing loss. With Baltimore getting healthier and playing its best football of the season recently, we here at Ravens Wire are predicting some pretty big things for this week.

Whether it’s stuffing Titans running back Derrick Henry, a huge day for the offense and quarterback Lamar Jackson, or even just total team domination; our bold predictions go just a touch further now the Ravens are in the playoffs.

As I say every week, our bold predictions are things we think are highly unlikely to happen but far more likely than anyone thinks. We’ve had a history this season of actually hitting on several of our bold predictions, so don’t go dismissing them because they’re outlandish. And as always, these predictions are more about bringing a little levity and fun to a game that is often taken too seriously.

Take a look below to see what each of thinks will happen when the Ravens meet the Titans in the playoffs on Sunday.

Broncos projected to earn a Wild Card spot this season

The Broncos are projected to reach the playoffs this season.

After the NFL Draft, ESPN’s Mike Clay formulated win-loss projections for every team in the league. Clay’s prediction has the Denver Broncos going 9-7 and earning a Wild Card spot in the AFC.

To be exact, Clay predicts 8.7 wins and 7.3 losses for the Broncos with a plus-20 points differential. Here’s a look at his prediction for the AFC West:

Kansas City Chiefs 11-5
Denver Broncos 9-7
Los Angeles Chargers 8-8
Las Vegas Raiders 6-10

In Clay’s prediction, Denver is the No. 6 seed in the conference with a Wild Card matchup against the Indianapolis Colts (10-6). Here’s a look at Clay’s projection for final standings in the AFC:

Kansas City Chiefs 11-5
Baltimore Ravens 11-5
Indianapolis Colts 10-6
Buffalo Bills 9-7
Pittsburgh Steelers 10-6
Denver Broncos  9-7
Cleveland Browns 9-7

The NFL will be adding one more playoff team per conference this season, so the Broncos wouldn’t be the bottom seed as the No. 6 team in the AFC. AFC teams barely missing the playoffs in Clay’s prediction include the New England Patriots (8-8), Tennessee Titans (8-8), Houston Texans (8-8) and Chargers (8-8).
