The NFL began their roll out of the 2024 NFL season schedule on Monday, announcing that two-time MVP Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens will visit back-to-back defending champion Patrick Mahomes and Kansas City in the Chiefs’ home opener. The NFL has a tradition of putting the defending champs in the spotlight game to start off each regular season, and 2024 will be no different.

The league also has a history of pitting the Dallas Cowboys against the New York Giants in Week 1. That quieted down for a little when they were able to square Dallas off against Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers two years in a row, but Brady retired and the Giants were back in that slot for the seventh time in 12 seasons in 2023. That didn’t end well for the competitive nature of things, with Dallas blowing out Daniel Jones and the G-Men, 40-0.

Will the NFL look to exploit that matchup again? Below are our completely irrelevant-yet-fun predictions for what the Cowboys’ 2024 schedule will look like. Any accurate predictions should result in complete and utter bewilderment.

Russell Wilson’s first start as a Steeler as Dallas kicks off on the road.

If Cowboys vs Giants isn’t the season opener, it’s going to be a home opener for someone, in this case Dallas.

The Cowboys travel to the Queen City to start their NFC South rotation.

The Cowboys visit Dan Quinn and Jayden Daniels for the first time in a late-September matchup.

The late-season rematch against Dan Campbell’s Lions and pitting the first-round trade partners against each other.

Dallas travels to Ohio to take on Deshaun Watson and old friend Amari Cooper.

Rest up.

Another season, another trip to the San Francisco Bay to take on the 49ers. Perhaps Mike McCarthy can finally solve the puzzle.

Dallas took a year off from the Bucs but will square off against Baker Mayfield and company.

Joe Burrow appears on schedule to return and hopefully be welcomed back to AT&T Stadium in similar fashion.

Round 2.

What better way to spend Thanksgiving than with a Governor’s Cup matchup between the Lone Star State’s representatives.

A repeat of 2021 when the Saints came for a visit the Thursday after Thanksgiving.

The NFL would be wise to milk the anticipation of these two teams late in the season.

A ton of Cowboys fans are waiting for the date of this matchup to get their travel plans together. Atlanta is going to be a crazy road trip.

A second consecutive season of a brutal down-stretch schedule for Dallas. They have to prove it and beating the reigning MVP would be a good look.

Back-to-back matchups against QBs with serious running ability as Round 2 with the Eagles takes place in late December.

Feels like this is going to be a tradition, ending the season against the Commanders, but unlike the last two years this one happens in Dallas.
