Wisconsin secures official visit for rising 2025 LB target

Wisconsin class of 2025 target LB Elliott Schaper will officially visit the program the weekend of June 7.

Schaper is currently unranked by 247Sports, though does have a growing list of offers. The most notable are Duke, Wisconsin, California, Arizona, Arizona State and Arkansas State. In total, the 6’2,” 210-pound linebacker has received 13 offers.

Wisconsin extended an offer to the linebacker on April 12 and received a crystal ball to land a commitment on April 16.

The Austin, Texas native is entering his senior year at Westlake High School, so he has one more year of eligibility before making the jump to the collegiate level.

Schaper recorded 108 total tackles, 9.0 sacks, 13 tackles for loss, 2 interceptions and 2 forced fumbles during his junior season at Westlake. He also took home 2023 Central Texas Defensive Player of the Year honors and was named District 26-6A Defensive MVP.

Despite the laundry list of offers, Schaper has only scheduled official visits to Wisconsin and Duke thus far.

Luke Fickell’s class of 2025 currently ranks No. 20 in the nation with 10 players committed. It has several linebackers committed: three-star Cooper Catalano, three-star Brenden Anes and three-star Samuel Lateju.

Texas receives two crystal balls for Michigan commit Ethan Burke

Texas is looking to poach a 6-foot-7 defensive lineman from Michigan.

Jim Harbaugh and his staff may be having some reoccurring nightmares anytime now.

After stealing Xavier Worthy from Michigan last season, Steve Sarkisian seems to be poaching someone else from the Wolverines once again.

Texas received two 247Sports crystal ball predictions for three-star edge rusher Ethan Burke. The Austin native plays at Westlake High School, where he and his team are set to compete for a state title this week.

Burke is a massive player that the Longhorns clearly see potential in, and want to add to their already loaded class of defensive linemen. Texas holds seven commits across the defensive line, which means Burke would be their eighth of the class unless they lose or add someone else.

Burke stands in at a towering 6-foot-7 and 225 pounds. Texas was in on Burke extremely late, which is not surprising as not only does he only have eight offers in total, but the Longhorns have been forming connections with other recruits ahead of the early signing period.

He has flown under the radar it seems, as besides Michigan, he holds offers from schools like Army, Air Force, Baylor, Air Force and Nebraska.

It is evident that the staff wants to add way more depth and size across both sides of the line, as those position groups struggled mightily last season, and Burke is looking like he could be the latest addition.

Top IOL target Connor Robertson announces commitment date

Texas has the opportunity to pull someone from their own backyard with OL Connor Robertson. He announced he will be committing on July 2.

Nothing is better than pulling a recruit out of your own backyard. Especially from your own city.

Texas and Kyle Flood have that opportunity on Friday with three-star IOL prospect Connor Robertson. The Austin native announced he plans to commit July 2.

Robertson clearly prioritizes academic, takings summer trips to Northwestern and Stanford. Only his trip to Austin was an official visit; he chose to save the rest for football season.

Getting him to Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium in the fall should not be too difficult considering his hometown. No matter where Robertson commits on Friday, Texas will be a major player in his recruitment going forward.

Texas heavily leads on the 247Sports crystal ball. Four predictions have been made for the Longhorns with an average confidence level of seven. Most came after an offer was extended to Robertson on Feb. 2.

Robertson would be another Westlake prospect to play for Texas. Both Ehlinger brothers played under Tom Herman, while three walk-ons are expected to be on the roster next season. Zane Minor and Michael Taaffe will arrive in the fall.

Adding an all-state offensive lineman from the 6A-DI champions is a great get for Flood.

On the 247Sports composite, Robertson is the No. 20 interior offensive lineman and the No. 546 overall player in the country. Within the state of Texas, he ranks No. 77.
