Everything Brian Kelly said after Saturday night’s win over Florida

Here’s what Kelly said after the win over Florida.

[autotag]Brian Kelly[/autotag] got arguably the biggest win of his tenure so far on Saturday night, winning a shootout on the road in Gainesville over the Gators.

After the two teams traded touchdowns for much of the first half, LSU stretched its lead to 21 points, and it looked like we were heading for a blowout. However, it wasn’t quite so simple. The Gators rallied, and quarterback [autotag]Jayden Daniels[/autotag] nearly had a costly turnover at the end that was wiped out by a UF personal foul.

LSU survived to win 45-35, moving to 5-2 on the season and 3-1 in SEC play ahead of another top-10 matchup in Death Valley next weekend against Ole Miss.

Here’s what Kelly had to say after his colossal win.

Best photos from LSU’s 45-35 win over Florida in Week 7

Here were the best shots from Saturday’s win.

The Tigers suffered a setback last week that interrupted a four-game losing streak, but they got back on track in the Swamp on Saturday night. LSU won a shootout 45-35 against Anthony Richardson and the Florida Gators behind the best performance of the season from quarterback [autotag]Jayden Daniels[/autotag].

Daniels threw for 349 yards on the game, and he finished with a season-high six total touchdowns (three passing, three rushing). The Tigers offense took. a clear step forward, and while the defense struggled to defend Richardson at times, it was an overall improvement from the performance in last weekend’s loss to Tennessee.

Here were the best photos from Saturday night’s win in Gainesville, which extend LSU’s streak in the series to four.

Best reactions from LSU’s road win against Florida

Fans were thrilled to see Saturday night’s win over the Gators.

The Tigers avoided suffering back-to-back losses on Saturday night, getting back in the win column in Gainesville despite being slight road underdogs against the Gators.

It was a back-and-forth game early on, but LSU had a big start to the second half and ultimately stretched its lead as wide as 21 points. Florida put forth a respectable comeback effort, cutting the lead to just seven in the fourth quarter, but it ultimately wasn’t enough as quarterback Jayden Daniels had his best game in a Tigers uniform on Saturday night.

With LSU now sitting at 5-2 on the year and 3-1 in conference play, here were some of the best reactions on the internet to the win.

Instant Analysis: Tigers survive late Gators rally to score bounce-back win in Gainesville

The Tigers moved to 3-1 in SEC play with Saturday night’s huge road win.

LSU didn’t allow Tennessee to beat it twice, but Saturday’s game against Florida ended up being a little too close for comfort.

After a back-and-forth first half that saw the teams trade scores throughout, the Tigers ultimately took control in the second half, stretching their lead out to as much as 21 in the third quarter.

A Florida comeback brought it within seven, and LSU avoided near-disaster when quarterback [autotag]Jayden Daniels[/autotag] threw an interception late that was ultimately called back due to a roughing the passer penalty. The Tigers did enough to survive 45-35 in a shootout in Gainesville, largely thanks to a tremendous offensive performance.

With the win, LSU’s winning streak over the Gators extends to four games.

The star of the show for LSU was Daniels. Aside from his scary almost-turnover, he was phenomenal. It was hands down his best game in a purple and gold jersey as he finished with six total touchdowns (three passing, three rushing). He had 349 yards through the air to go with 44 on the ground.

The bulk of the offense came through the air, but the ground game wasn’t bad, either. [autotag]Josh Williams[/autotag] led the way with 106 yards on 14 carries, due in large part to a 50-yard scamper.

It was finally the breakout game we had been waiting for from star receiver [autotag]Kayshon Boutte[/autotag], who was having a quiet start to the season. UF had no answer for him, though, and he had his best game of the season, finishing with six catches for 115 yards, both of which led the team.

Defensively, it wasn’t the Tigers’ best game. They allowed 395 yards of offense but overall performed better than they did in the loss to the Vols. Quarterback Anthony Richardson led the Gators’ elite rushing attack with 109 yards, most of which came on an 81-yard touchdown. Montrell Johnson also had 57 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.

But the Florida passing game was held under 200 yards as the Tigers fared much better against this struggling offense than it did last week against one of the nation’s best groups.

With the win, coach Brian Kelly’s team moves to 5-2 (3-1 SEC) on the season with another absolutely massive test next week against an Ole Miss team in Death Valley that is undefeated and ranks in the top 10.

Nevada vs Hawaii Game Preview

Why Nevada Will Win

Seriously, Nevada?

It’s not like the Wolf Pack have been anything great, but they did just about everything against Colorado State but win the game. The D held the O without a point until there were all zeroes on the clock – there was an untimed down field goal – all of the seven penalties and two turnovers were a killer, and …

Whatever, Nevada should’ve won, it didn’t, and now it needs to win this or the season is effectively over.

Hawaii might have pushed San Diego State to the final moments, but that was an aberration. The defense can’t stop anything, and San Diego State’s offense can’t do anything. Nevada should be able to run at will, but …

NFL Expert Picks, Week 6

Why Hawaii Will Win

Did the Rainbow Warriors find something against the Aztecs?

They actually got the running game going a bit, the passing attack had a few nice moments, and they came up with a real, live late scoring drive to almost pull it off in the 16-14 loss.

Nevada isn’t getting much out of its run defense lately. Back at home for the first time in a few weeks, this is when Hawaii has to find a burst of energy to try blasting away up front.

After last week’s demoralizing loss, Nevada might have a hard time bouncing back fast and could have a tough time if Hawaii can somehow pound out an early scoring drive.

– Schedules, Previews CollegeNFL

What’s Going To Happen

Again, assume Hawaii’s success of last week had more to do with San Diego State being bad. The Aztec offense was starting a defensive back at quarterback, and the Hawaii secondary couldn’t come up with a big stop against the passing game.

Nevada will throw a little, but it’ll be the ground game that will take over and break the four game losing streak.

Everything Nick Saban said after Alabama’s devastating loss to Tennessee

After Alabama’s loss to Tennessee, Nick Saban spoke with the media. We will provide you with everything that he had to say following the game.

Alabama came up short in Saturday’s matchup against the Tennessee Volunteers. The game was high-scoring and full of a bunch of big plays throughout the course of the game. The Crimson Tide battled until the end but dropped their first game of the season to the Volunteers.

There were a lot of thoughts on Alabama’s decision to throw the ball three times before setting up a potential go-ahead kick for Will Reichard. Ultimately, the Tide had to settle for a field goal which ended in a miss. The Volunteers would capitalize and knock down a game-winning field goal from 40 yards out.

Roll Tide Wire will now take a look at what Alabama’s Nick Saban had to say during his postgame interview with the media.

Box Score Breakdown: Top performers from Alabama’s loss to Tennessee

Today, Roll Tide Wire will take a look at Alabama’s top performers after their loss to Tennessee.

Unfortunately, Alabama suffered their first loss of the season to Tennessee on Saturday. However, several players had key performances in the game.

Quarterback Bryce Young made a profound impact in his return after suffering an AC sprain against Arkansas two weeks ago. Running back Jahmyr Gibbs was on his A-game and came through in several moments for the Crimson Tide.

Although the defense didn’t play particularly well, there were several pivotal plays that keep the Crimson Tide in the football game.

Today, Roll Tide Wire will take a look at the box score leaders against Tennessee.

Penn State vs Michigan Game Preview

Why Penn State Will Win

The offense has found a nice groove.

Amazingly balanced, the offense has a good combination of dangerous running backs, QB Sean Clifford, and a line that’s doing a solid job of keeping defenses out of the backfield. The attack might not be a thrill a minute, but it’s extremely effective.

Forget the sloppy, rain-soaked win over Northwestern when no one could hang on to the ball – Penn State gave it up five times in the 17-7 uggo – the offense doesn’t have a turnover issue. As long as the offense can keep the mistakes to a bare minimum, the other side should take over.

The Penn State run defense has been a brick wall allowing fewer than 80 yards per game. Stop Michigan from running, pressure JJ McCarthy, and …

NFL Expert Picks, Week 6

Why Michigan Will Win

Yeah, the Penn State run defense has been great. That’s what happens when you don’t face anyone who can run.

Auburn has good backs, but the offense isn’t working against anyone. Ohio is throwing it a gajillion times per game, and Purdue chooses to travel by air. Of course Penn State has talent up front to hold up, but it hasn’t dealt with anyone who can pound away.

Blake Corum and the rushing attack should be able to grind – even if the explosive runs aren’t there – and McCarthy is settling in hitting 76% of his throws over the last two games.

The Michigan defense has been better than Penn State’s, the pass rush has been stronger, and the offense is much, much stronger on third downs. For all of the good things Penn State does, it’s only 34% on third down conversions.

– Schedules, Previews CollegeNFL

What’s Going To Happen

How do you know Michigan is good? It was awful against Indiana – ten penalties, a turnover, struggles in key moments early – and still won 31-10.

It might have been tough to put away Maryland, and the Indiana win was tougher than it should’ve been, but it’s been building to this.

Penn State has a ton of talent, athleticism, and parts to make this a fight throughout. Michigan will stall too often after the Nittany Lions get up early, but slow and steady will win the race.

The Penn State attack will struggle late, McCarthy will come up with one terrific drive to finally give the home side the lead, and Clifford’s last two passes will misfire to close out a tense thriller.

Alabama vs Tennessee Game Preview

Why Alabama Will Win

Bryce Young is back.

His injured shoulder needed a little time, and while it’s still not right he appears to be on track to give it a go. Whether he’s back to normal or not out there at all, the Tide offense has the running game to pick up the slack.

The offensive line has been phenomenal at just the right time, backup QB Jalen Milroe and flash-back Jahmyr Gibbs have taken over, and it all should work against a Tennessee defensive that hasn’t seen anything like this.

Florida has a different type of running game – Anthony Richardson was too busy firing away for 453 yards to run – and LSU couldn’t seem to get anything going last week. Bama will bring more power, a great rotation of options, and the passing yards will fly no matter who’s under center.

Oh yeah, and Bama plays a little D, too.

Lost in the issues so far this year is a defense that’s still getting to the quarterback, still coming up large when it absolutely has to, and only two teams in college football are better against the run.

However …

NFL Expert Picks, Week 6

Why Tennessee Will Win

Does this look like one of those typical dominant Alabama teams to you?

Don’t blow off just how good Texas A&M really is – there’s a ton of talent on that team – but Bama should’ve rolled, didn’t, and it came within a better final play call of possibly walking out with a loss.

Arkansas had the Tide on the ropes going into the fourth quarter, and Texas came within a field goal of pulling off a shocker.

Three games against good teams, three tough battles, two that came within an eyelash of going the other way.

Tennessee is a good team.

The offense has been in total command with a tremendous balance, great play out of QB Hendon Hooker, enough explosion to challenge the shaky Bama corners – Xavier Worthy of Texas wore the Tide DBs as a hat in the first half of that – and now its time to show off.

– Schedules, Previews CollegeNFL

What’s Going To Happen

This is the moment the Tennessee program has been waiting so long for.

It has the team, the talent, the upside, and the ability to win a monster game like this because it might be just that good. It has the scheme, the coaching, and the talent to come out firing and …

Welcome to the University of Alabama football program.

Tennessee might have a decent statistical run defense, but that’s mostly because everyone spends so much time throwing. The Crimson Tide will have their fun through the air, but they’re going to pull this off with the running game and a defensive front stepping up when they have to.

The Vols will get up fast. Social media will have Alabama dead, QB Hendon Hooker will be handed the Heisman, and a trip to the College Football Playoff will be a lock, and then Bama will go Bama.

Two quick scoring drives from the Tide running game will set the tone in the second half, the defense will feed off the momentum with a few key stops, and it’ll all slip away for the Vols.

It’ll be fun in the final moments with Hooker getting one last chance to do something amazing, and then the cigars will be lit.
