TCU knows the history of its success on the road against No. 9 Oklahoma. The Horned Frogs have not beaten the Sooners in Norman since 2005, and Oklahoma is riding high after a 25-point comeback win vs. Baylor.

TCU (5-5, 3-4) beat Texas Tech 33-31 on the road last weekend. Quarterback Max Duggan went 25-for-42 with 323 yards passing and two touchdowns. His favorite target last weekend was Taye Barber, who had 137 yards receiving on eight catches. Eight different receivers had at least one catch. The Horned Frogs didn’t get down on themselves after a crushing 29-23 triple overtime loss to Baylor the week before, which shows the resilience and toughness of the team and head coach Gary Patterson.
The Sooners (9-1, 6-1) showed many of the same qualities after trailing by as much as 28-3 in the second quarter vs. Baylor last weekend. However, a combination of offensive and defensive dominance helped the Sooners score 24 unanswered points. Heisman hopeful Jalen Hurts finished the game with 297 passing yards and four touchdowns, along with 114 rushing yards. What made the comeback all the more impressive is that it was done without Hurts’ go-to wide receiver CeeDee Lamb. It’s not known yet if he’ll suit up on Saturday after missing the Baylor game due to undisclosed reasons. Lamb has 983 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns on the season.
The Sooners crushed their opponents the first five games of the season, winning by an average of 34.4 points per game, but four of their last five games have been decided by a touchdown or less. Hurts leads the nation in yards per completion (16.8) and passing efficiency rating (209.1), is second in total offense (402.2 YPG) and third in completion percentage (73). If the Horned Frogs have any hope of a win, they will have to limit the effectiveness of Hurts.
