Here’s a look at what fans and analysts were saying about Klay Thompson’s 28-point performance vs. the Trail Blazers.

After struggling throughout the first quarter of the season, Klay Thompson and Andrew Wiggins answered the bell for the Golden State Warriors on Sunday evening in Portland.

With Steph Curry unable to find the bottom of the net, Thompson and Wiggins stepped up to fuel Golden State’s offense against the Portland Trail Blazers.

Thompson scored a team-high 28 points on 11-of-16 shooting from the field with five made triples and four rebounds. Wiggins tacked on a his second-highest-scoring performance of the season with 25 points to go along with seven rebounds in the Warriors’ 118-114.

Steph Curry’s streak of 268 games with a made 3-pointer ends in win vs. Trail Blazers

The streak is over.

During the Golden State Warriors’ win over the Portland Trail Blazers, something happened that hasn’t occurred since 2018.

Despite securing a much-needed victory, Steph Curry scored a season-low seven points. More notably, Curry failed to knock down a signature 3-pointer in a regular-season game.

Sunday’s game in Portland marked the first time since 2018 that Curry did not make a shot from beyond the arc, ending an NBA-record stretch of 268 regular-season games with a 3-pointer. Curry finished 0-for-8 from deep. Curry also owns the second longest such streak in NBA history (157 games).

While Curry struggled to find the bottom of the net, teammates Klay Thompson and Andrew Wiggins picked him up against the Trail Blazers on Sunday evening, Thompson tallied 28 points while Wiggins tacked on 25 points off the bench to help secure a 118-114 win over the Trail Blazers.

The two-time MVP will have the chance to start a new streak on Tuesday in a rematch of the 2022 NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics at San Francisco’s Chase Center.

Watch: Steph Curry hits Moses Moody with must-see behind the back pass vs. Trail Blazers

Steph Curry made a case for Pass of the Year against the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday night.

Although Steph Curry’s shot wasn’t falling against the Portland Trail Blazers, the two-time Most Valuable Player served as a playmaker for the Golden State Warriors on Sunday night.

While he scored a season-low seven points, Curry was active as a passer, dishing eight assists. Curry has three games this season with eight or more assists. One of his dimes set up a Moses Moody dunk at the rim. Curry whipped a behind-the-back pass reminiscent of Magic Johnson in open court with the Showtime Los Angeles Lakers.

Watch: Draymond Green finds Jonathan Kuminga for explosive alley-oop vs. Trail Blazers

Jonathan Kuminga set Chase Center into a frenzy after Draymond Green found him at the rim for an explosive alley-oop.

After a slow start that resulted in an 11-point deficit for the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday night, Steve Kerr turned to Jonathan Kuminga off the bench for a spark against the Portland Trail Blazers. The third-year wing delivered that spark and more at Chase Center.

Behind Kuminga and a late barrage of points from Steph Curry, the Warriors swung momentum back their way.

With the Warriors attempting to close out the Blazers and complete the comeback, Draymond Green looked to Kuminga for one final haymaker. With just over a minute left on the clock and the Warriors clinging to a two-point lead, Green found Kuminga for an explosive lob dunk at the rim.

Kuminga’s dunk sent the crowd at the Chase Center into a frenzy while extending Golden State’s tight lead over Portland.

Injury Report: Warriors’ Draymond Green (knee) upgraded to probable vs. Blazers on Tuesday

After missing two games, the Golden State forward has been upgraded to probable for Tuesday’s contest against Portland.

After playing two games without three All-Star caliber players, the Golden State Warriors could be getting some much-needed reinforcements on Tuesday night against the Portland Trail Blazers.

Following a two-game absence due to a knee contusion, Draymond Green has been upgraded to probable for Tuesday’s contest at San Francisco’s Chase Center.

Green was ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves after his knee flared up according to Steve Kerr. Green underwent an MRI that later came back clean.

Via @anthonyVslater on Twitter:

Despite Green’s return, the Warriors will still be without starters Steph Curry (lower leg) and Andrew Wiggins (personal reasons) for Tuesday’s contest against Portland.

With Green’s expected return, Jonathan Kuminga will likely shift back to a role off the bench. Green will likely re-join the starting lineup alongside Jordan Poole, Klay Thompson, Donte DiVincenzo and Kevon Looney.

During the 2022-23 season, Green is averaging 8.1 points on 51.7% shooting from the field with 7.4 rebounds and 6.8 assists in 31.5 minutes per game.
