Trayce Jackson-Davis put fellow rookie Victor Wembanyama on a poster with a must-see dunk against the Spurs on Monday night.

In a battle between rookies, Trayce Jackson-Davis got the last laugh against Victory Wembanyama on Monday night when the Golden State Warriors met the San Antonio Spurs.

In the fourth quarter, Jackson-Davis put an exclamation point on the Warriors’ much-needed 112-102 win over the Spurs with a must-see dunk over the 2023 No. 1 overall pick. Jackson-Davis drove the lane and exploded for a one-handed jam. While Wembanyama attempted a block, Jackson-Davis was still able to throw down the dunk.

Beyond his dunk, Jackson-Davis recorded another impressive performance with 13 points on 6-of-7 shooting from the field with 10 rebounds and five assists in 26 minutes off the bench.

Wembanyama led the Spurs with 27 points on 10-of-25 shooting from the field with 14 rebounds and three assists in the Spurs loss to the Warriors at home, 112-102.

Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins return to starting lineup vs. Spurs on Monday

Klay Thompson and Andrew Wiggins will return to the starting lineup on Monday evening against the Spurs.

with Steph Curry missing time due to an ankle injury, Steve Kerr has had to get creative with the Golden State Warriors’ starting lineup. During Saturday’s tough loss to the San Antonio Spurs, Kerr opted to start Chris Paul and Trayce Jackson-Davis.

On Monday in a rematch against the Spurs, Kerr will switch the starting lineup again. After coming off the bench recently, veterans Klay Thompson and Andrew Wiggins will return to the starting lineup against the Spurs.

With Stephen Curry ruled out for the game due to an ankle injury, the Golden State Warriors fell into an early hole against the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday evening at Chase Center. 

With the Spurs heating up from beyond the arc, the Warriors fell behind by 19 points in the first half. Over the first two quarters, the Spurs hit 10 3-pointers on 62.5% shooting from beyond the arc against Golden State’s leaky defense. 

While the Warriors made multiple attempts to dig into the Spurs’ advantage, it wasn’t enough. Without Victor Wembanyama, the Spurs had five members tally 17 points or more on the way to an upset win on the road against the Warriors, 126-113.

Scoring 19 points in the fourth quarter, Jonathan Kuminga tallied 26 points on 10-of-17 shooting from the field with three rebounds and two assists in 30 minutes. Klay Thompson scored a game-high 27 points on 8-of-16 shooting from the floor with five made 3-pointers, but it wasn’t enough against the Spurs.

Injury Report: Spurs’ Victor Wembanyama (right ankle) out vs. Warriors on Saturday

The 2023 No. 1 overall pick will miss Saturday’s game at San Francisco’s Chase Center against the Warriors due to an ankle injury.

While the Golden State Warriors will be missing Stephen Curry on Saturday night due to an ankle injury, the San Antonio Spurs will be without their centerpiece as well in San Francisco.

2023 No. 1 pick Victor Wembanyama has been ruled out for Saturday’s contest due to a right ankle sprain.

Wembanyama missed the Spurs’ loss to the Sacramento Kings on Thursday evening.

In his rookie season, the French big man is averaging 20.7 points on 46.9% shooting from the field with 10.3 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 3.4 blocks in 28.8 minutes per contest.

With Wembanyama out, the Spurs will deploy a frontcourt featuring Zach Collins and rookie Julian Champagnie against the Warriors.

Injury Report: Steph Curry (right ankle) out vs. Spurs on Saturday

Steph Curry is set to miss Saturday’s contest against the Spurs due to an ankle injury.

On the way to a disappointing loss to the Chicago Bulls in the final minutes on Thursday, Golden State Warriors All-Star point guard Steph Curry exited the game in the fourth quarter after apparently rolling his ankle.

After leaving the court, Curry left the game to the locker room and did not return as the Warriors fell to the Bulls on Thursday night at San Francisco’s Chase Center.

Although the MRI on his ankle reportedly came back clean, Curry has been ruled out for Saturday’s game against the San Antonio Spurs.

Without Curry, the Warriors will lean on Chris Paul, Klay Thompson and Moses Moody in the backcourt alongside rookie Brandin Podziemski.

Steph Curry helped the Warriors hold off the Spurs with a game-high 35 points on 11-of-20 shooting from the field to go along with six assists and three rebounds in 35 minutes. Curry heated up from beyond the arc, drilling seven 3s against the Spurs.

Watch: Gary Payton II rejects Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama with must-see block

Gary Payton II welcomed Victor Wembanyama to San Francisco’s Chase Center with a must-see block on Friday night.

After missing three games with a foot injury, Gary Payton II wasted no time making an impact in his return to the court against the San Antonio Spurs. The Golden State Warriors guard helped welcome the No. 1 pick from the 2023 draft, Victor Wembanyama, with an emphatic block at the rim.

With Wembanyama running the floor on a fast break, the 6-foot-3 Payton rose to swipe away the 7-foot-6 rookie’s layup attempt. Payton sent Wembanyama’s shot into the second row of the crowd sitting on the baseline.

Following Payton’s block, the Chase Center crowd exploded with a frenzy of cheers.

Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Jordan Poole combined for 20 made 3-pointers to fuel the Warriors’ win over the Spurs on Friday night.

After not being able to shake the 19-win San Antonio Spurs through three quarters, the Golden State Warriors went into the fourth quarter on Friday night trailing by one point in a potential surprise upset. 

However, the Warriors turned it on when it mattered most in the final frame. Steph Curry notched 16 fourth-quarter points while Klay Thompson added 11 points with three triples each. The Warriors blitzed the Spurs for 43 points in the fourth quarter to secure their second straight victory at home, 130-115. 

Coming off 39 point performance on Tuesday against the New Orleans Pelicans, Curry tallied a game-high 33 points against the Spurs on 11-of-21 shooting from the field with seven made 3-pointers in 33 minutes. 

Curry’s fellow Splash Brother recorded a 30-point performance of his own with 31 points on 11-of-18 shooting from the field with seven made triples. Thompson added two boards, two assists and a steal in 34 minutes. 

Jordan Poole fueled Golden State’s second unit with 27 points on 8-of-17 shooting from the floor with six made 3-pointers to go along with six dimes, two rebounds, a steal and a block in 27 minutes off the bench. 

With the Warriors clinging to a six-point lead with six minutes remaining in a tight game, Gary Payton II drilled a clutch 3-pointer to extend Golden State’s advantage to nine. Payton II later came up with a block over Malaki Branham that lead to the Warriors taking a double-figure lead with under five minutes remaining. Payton II finished with seven points on 3-of-5 shooting in 18 minutes off the bench in his third game back since returning from injury.
