Rookie Trayce Jackson-Davis records career high in Warriors’ win vs. Rockets

The Warriors rookie center notched a new career-high in scoring on Thursday night against the Rockets.

While Klay Thompson and Steph Curry fueled the Golden State Warriors’ offense with 29 points each in the blowout win over the Houston Rockets, another young member of the Warriors quietly registered a career high.

In his fifth consecutive start, rookie Trayce Jackson-Davis recorded his first 20-point performance in the NBA on Thursday against the Rockets.

Jackson-Davis recorded a career-high 20 points on 8-of-10 shooting from the field to go along with five rebounds, four assists, a steal and a block in 28 minutes in Houston.

The Indiana product has tallied double-figures in scoring in 24 of his 62 games in his rookie campaign. Jackson-Davis has notched 15 or more points in eight of those games.

The 24-year-old will have the chance to build on his rookie season on Friday when the Warriors meet the Dallas Mavericks for the second leg of their Texas back-to-back.

Injury Report: Jonathan Kuminga (knee) to miss fifth straight game on Thursday vs. Rockets

The Golden State forward is set to miss his fifth straight game on Thursday against the Houston Rockets.

Despite riding a five-game win streak, the Golden State Warriors have been without a key piece in the starting rotation for the last four games. While signs pointed towards his return, Jonathan Kuminga will miss his fifth straight game on Thursday against the Houston Rockets.

Although he worked out on Tuesday and scrimmaged on Thursday morning, Kuminga has been ruled out against the Rockets due to bilateral knee tendonitis.

According to Steve Kerr, Kuminga “didn’t feel ready.” However, the Warriors head coach is hopeful Kuminga can return on the second leg of Golden State’s Texas back-to-back on Friday against the Dallas Mavericks.

After the Warriors secured a much-needed win over the Rockets to snap their six game losing streak, NBA Twitter chimed in with reactions.

After a rough early season slide that resulted in six straight losses, the Golden State Warriors are finally back in the win column. Following a strong shooting performance from beyond the arc, the Warriors secured a much-needed win on Monday evening against the Houston Rockets, 121-116.

Steph Curry led all scorers with 32 points on 8-of-14 shooting from the field to go along with five rebounds and an assist in 35 minutes. Four other members of the Warriors recorded double figures in scoring on Monday.

Five members of the Warriors knocked down at least two or more 3-pointers against the Rockets. Curry and Klay Thompson each hit five triples against the Rockets.

Thompson tallied 20 points on 7-of-16 shooting from the field on Monday, marking his first 20 point performance of the 2023-24 season.

With a six-game losing streak hovering, the Golden State Warriors were locked in early against the Houston Rockets. With Klay Thompson and Andrew Wiggins shooting well early, the Warriors jumped to a lead over the Rockets.

With the lead, Steph Curry capitalized. The two-time Most Valuable Player drilled a tough 3-pointer and was fouled. Before going to the line with the chance to give the Warriors a double-figure lead, Curry broke out his signature four-point play celebration, counting to four on his fingers.

Watch: Warriors’ Jonathan Kuminga punches emphatic dunk vs. Rockets

The young forward exploded to the rim for a powerful dunk against the Rockets on Monday.

Riding a tough six-game losing streak, the Golden State Warriors desperately needed a spark to get back in the win column on Monday night against the Houston Rockets.

Along with sharp shooting from Klay Thompson and Andrew Wiggins early, Jonathan Kuminga helped answer the bell with a high-flying dunk to provide some juice against the Rockets.

On a fast break in the first quarter, Kuminga blew by most of Houston’s defense on his way to the rim. The young forward exploded to the bucket for an emphatic jam.

Kuminga took a tough hit on the landing, falling on his tailbone and lower back. However, Kuminga never left the game for an extended period and looked alright.

After Steph Curry shook Dillon Brooks to get open for a triple during the Warriors’ win over the Rockets, NBA Twitter exploded with reactions.

After the San Francisco 49ers dropped their third straight game with a loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors came to the rescue for Bay Area sports fans on Sunday.

Curry tallied a game-high 24 points on 6-of-16 shooting from the field to go along with seven rebounds and six assists in Golden State’s 106-95 win over the Houston Rockets on Sunday evening.

With the game close, the former two-time MVP went ballistic in the fourth quarter, with four consecutive made 3-pointers on four straight possessions. During his signature “Curry flurry,” the Warriors’ sharpshooter had a highlight reel moment that will be replayed across the sports world throughout the week.

Familiar foe Dillon Brooks attempted to slow down Curry, and No. 30 made him pay on the way to a must-see jumper. Curry shook free from Brooks with a slick crossover. Brooks attempted to recover with a block attempt, but Curry simply pump faked on the way to a wide open triple.

After cooking Brooks on the offensive end, Curry had an animated reaction while jogging back to the other side of the court.

Steph Curry made Dillon Brooks look silly with a shake to get open for a 3-pointer against the Rockets.

Through three quarters in Houston, Stephen Curry was fairly quiet for his standards. However, the All-Star point guard still had a signature “Curry Flurry” in his back pocket for the Rockets on Sunday night.

With the game tightening, Curry unloaded a barrage of late triples to help the Warriors seal their second straight win on the road. Curry ripped off four consecutive made 3-pointers on four straight possessions.

While Curry was heating up, familiar foe Dillon Brooks attempted to guard Golden State’s sharpshooter. Curry made the new Rockets wing look silly with a crafty crossover and pump fake that led to an open look from deep.

Curry hit Brooks with a behind the back crossover that sent the former Memphis Grizzlies wing out of the picture. While trying to recover, Brooks attempted a big block that Curry saw coming. Following a smooth pump fake, Curry easily splashed another triple. After his highlight-reel jumper, Curry had a must see reaction to his shot while getting back on defense.

On the way to a red-hot 42 point performance, Klay Thompson caught fire from beyond the arc with 12 made 3-pointers against the Rockets.

Without Steph Curry, Andrew Wiggins and Draymond Green, Klay Thompson took charge of the Golden State Warriors offense on Friday night against the Houston Rockets. 

The veteran sharpshooter caught fire to match his game-high with 42 points on 12-of-19 shooting from the floor. All of Thompson’s field goals came from beyond the arc, hitting 12 triples against the Rockets. Thompson added seven boards and an assist in 36 minutes during Golden State’s home win over Houston. 

Thompson now has three separate games with 12 or more made triples, passing his teammate Steph Curry with two games of 12 or more made 3-pointers.

Thompson’s performance against the Rockets marked his second game with 12 made 3-pointers this season. Thompson is the only player in NBA history to have two games with 12 made 3-pointers in the same season. Thompson’s previous outburst from long distance came against the Oklahoma City Thunder in early Feb. Thompson has recorded four games with double figure made 3-pointers.

On the way to a fiery 42-point performance in a shorthanded win for the Warriors, Klay Thompson drilled 12 triples over the Rockets on Friday night.

With Steph Curry, Draymond Green and Andrew Wiggins out in the second leg of a back-to-back against the Houston Rockets, the Klay Thompson show took over on Friday night. 

The veteran sharpshooting guard fueled a much-needed shorthanded win for the Warriors behind a fiery performance from beyond the arc. During the Warriors’ 116-101 win over the Rockets, Thompson buried a red-hot 12 triples from long distance. 

While torching the Rockets from deep, Thompson notched a game-high 42 points on 12-of-17 shooting from the field to go along with seven rebounds and an assist in 36 minutes. Friday’s outburst marked the fourth time this season Thompson has recorded 40 or more points. 

As the Warriors cruised to a win over the Rockets, Donte DiVincenzo added 15 points with five made triples after registering a start in the backcourt with Curry out due to injury. 

Rookie Patrick Baldwin Jr. added to Golden State’s hot shooting night with 11 points on 4-of-8 shooting from the field in 16 minutes off the bench on Friday night against the Rockets.
