After suffering a blowout loss to the Toronto Raptors on Sunday night, the schedule didn’t get any easier for the Golden State Warriors on the final leg of their seven-game homestand on Wednesday against the New Orleans Pelicans.

For the second straight game, the Warriors came out flat. They fell behind by 19 in the first quarter while giving up 46 points in the opening 12 minutes.

After starting the game with an opening haymaker, the Pelicans never looked back on their way to a 141-105 win over the sliding Warriors. With a loss to the Pelicans, the Warriors ended their homestead 2-5. They lost three of their last four.

Steph Curry struggled to find his shot again, scoring 15 points on 4-of-13 shooting from the field in 25 minutes. Moses Moody led the Warriors with 21 points on 8-of-18 shooting from the floor. No other members of the Warriors registered more than 19 points.

Rookie Report: Trayce Jackson-Davis records near double-double vs. Pelicans

In his second appearance in the NBA, Warriors rookie Trayce Jackson-Davis recorded a near double-double effort against the Pelicans.

After a dominant college career at the University of Indiana, 2023 first-team All-American Trayce Jackson-Davis landed with the Golden State Warriors in the second round of the 2023 NBA draft.

Through four games, the former Hoosier is quickly proving to be a steal in the second round of the draft. In his second appearance with the Warriors, Jackson-Davis recorded a near double-double effort against the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday evening. 

In his first appearance in the NBA, Jackson-Davis went scoreless in five minutes off the bench against the Sacramento Kings. Monday marked his first points scored of his young career.

On the second leg of a road back-to-back, the Warriors’r rookie played 20 minutes off the bench, scoring 13 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the field. Jackson-Davis added nine boards and four blocks in Golden State’s blowout road win over New Orleans.

NBA Twitter reacts to another red-hot performance from Steph Curry in Warriors’ win vs. Pelicans

After Steph Curry stayed red-hot with a 42-point effort against the Pelicans, NBA Twitter chimed in with reactions on Monday.

Steph Curry has started the 2023-24 campaign on an absolute heater.

With 27-point and 41-point performance already under his belt through three games, the former two-time Most Valuable Player double-downed with another red-hot effort on the second leg of a back-to-back on Monday against the New Orleans Pelicans.

Curry fueled the Warriors’ third straight road win, scoring a game-high 42 points on 15-of-22 shooting from the field with seven made 3-pointers to go along with five rebounds, five assists and two blocks in 30 minutes.

Behind Curry’s sizzling performance, the Warriors ripped off their third consecutive win on the road with a blowout victory over the Pelicans, 130-102.

Through four games, Curry is averaging 33.4 points on 55.8% shooting from the floor and 47.1% from long distance.

Injury Report: Warriors’ Klay Thompson (knee), Jonathan Kuminga (knee) out vs. Pelicans

The Golden State Warriors will be without two key players due to injury on Monday against the New Orleans Pelicans.

On the second leg of a road back-to-back, the Golden State Warriors will be without a pair of key players against Zion Williamson and the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday evening.

Prior to tipoff, both Klay Thompson and Jonathan Kuminga were ruled out against the Pelicans. Thompson will miss the game with right knee soreness while Kuminga is dealing with a left knee contusion.

Summer League: Warriors fall to Pelicans for second straight loss in Las Vegas, 94-86

Lester Quinones continued to impress with 26 points, but it wasn’t enough to slow down the Pelicans as the Warriors dropped their second straight in the Las Vegas Summer League.

Through two games, the Summer League edition of the Golden State Warriors have yet to record a win. After leaving the California Classic for the Las Vegas Summer League, the Warriors dropped their opener in Sin City to the Los Angeles Lakers.

On Sunday evening in their second Summer League contest, the Warriors couldn’t slow down the New Orleans Pelicans on their way to another loss in the desert, 94-86.

Despite their struggles on the scoreboard, Lester Quinones continued to make the case for a serious look at one of Golden State’s roster spots for the upcoming season. The Memphis product led the way again with a game-high 26 points on 8-of-17 shooting from the floor with two assists and two rebounds in 33 minutes. Quinones showed off his long range jumper, hitting four triples from beyond the arc.

First round draft pick Brandin Podziemski recorded his first double-double with 10 points and 10 assists. Podziemski nearly recorded a triple-double, adding nine rebounds to his performance. However, Podziemski struggled from the field, shooting from 3-of-16.

NBA Twitter reacts to Warriors extending win streak to five with victory over Pelicans, 108-99

Klay Thompson record 27 points as the Warriors extended their winning streak to five games with another comeback victory over the Pelicans.

Through three of the first four games during their five-game homestand, the Golden State Warriors have trailed by double-figures. However, each game has resulted in a victory for the Warriors. Things didn’t change on Friday night for the homestand’s finale. 

Again, the Warriors fell behind by as much as 17 points to the New Orleans Pelicans in the first half on Friday at Chase Center. However, it wasn’t enough to hold off the comeback Warriors. 

Similar to their last two games, the Warriors came out firing in the third quarter. Behind Klay Thompson, the Warriors outscored the Pelicans 30-19 in the third quarter to steal the lead going into the fourth quarter. 

Their defense held strong down the stretch as the Warriors were able to hold on against the Pelicans to sweep their homestand and secure a five-game winning streak. With their 108-99 win over the Pelicans, the Warriors matched their season-high for consecutive wins with five straight. 

Thompson led the way for the Warriors with 27 points on 10-of-17 shooting from the field with four triples to go along with four assists in 34 minutes.

Jonathan Kuminga added 19 points off the bench on 9-of-13 from the floor with seven boards and four steals in 32 minutes. JaMychal Green recorded 14 points on 5-of-7 shooting from the field with six rebounds and two blocks in 15 minutes off the bench.

At 34-30, the Warriors are sitting at the No. 5 seed in the Western Conference playoff race.

After the shorthanded Warriors fell to the Pelicans in blowout fashion on Monday, NBA Twitter weighed in with reactions.

After finally securing their first road win of the season on Sunday against the Houston Rockets, the Golden State Warriors second win on the road wasn’t going to come easy. 

On the second leg of a road back-to-back on Monday against the New Orleans Pelicans, the Warriors were without Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins and Draymond Green. Kevon Looney was the only regular starter to play on Monday against the Pelicans. 

With the Warriors missing four of their core pieces, the Pelicans took advantage. Brandon Ingram led the Pelicans with 34 points on 12-of-19 shooting from the field with six boards on the way to a blowout win in New Orleans, 128-83. 

As the Warriors were dismantled, Jordan Poole led the team with 26 points on 9-of-18 shooting from the field with a pair of made triples. In a chance to start, Jonathan Kumunga registered double-figures, scoring 18 points to go along with three boards and two assists in 40 minutes.

The Warriors will rest four starters for the final contest of their five-game road swing on Friday against the Pelicans.

Riding a four-game losing streak, the Golden State Warriors will close their rough road trip on the second leg of a back-to-back with a contest against the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday night.

With their final chance to secure a win on the road before heading back to the Bay Area, the Warriors will be without four starters against the Pelicans on Friday. The Warriors will rest Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Andrew Wiggins on Friday. Kevon Looney is the only regular starter expected to be on the floor against the Pelicans.

With a rest day coming on Friday, Curry, Thompson, Green and Wiggins will get the entire weekend off before hosting the Sacramento Kings at Chase Center on Monday.

Without four of their stars, Golden State’s young core will need to rally to give the Warriors a chance to salvage a win on the road before returning to the Bay Area.

Jordan Poole will likely play a featured role on Friday, along with players like Moses Moody, Jonathan Kuminga, James Wiseman, JaMychal Green and Ty Jerome. Rookies Patrick Baldwin Jr. and Ryan Rollins could also get minutes against the Pelicans on Friday.
