Summer League: Warriors fall to Pelicans for second straight loss in Las Vegas, 94-86

Lester Quinones continued to impress with 26 points, but it wasn’t enough to slow down the Pelicans as the Warriors dropped their second straight in the Las Vegas Summer League.

Through two games, the Summer League edition of the Golden State Warriors have yet to record a win. After leaving the California Classic for the Las Vegas Summer League, the Warriors dropped their opener in Sin City to the Los Angeles Lakers.

On Sunday evening in their second Summer League contest, the Warriors couldn’t slow down the New Orleans Pelicans on their way to another loss in the desert, 94-86.

Despite their struggles on the scoreboard, Lester Quinones continued to make the case for a serious look at one of Golden State’s roster spots for the upcoming season. The Memphis product led the way again with a game-high 26 points on 8-of-17 shooting from the floor with two assists and two rebounds in 33 minutes. Quinones showed off his long range jumper, hitting four triples from beyond the arc.

First round draft pick Brandin Podziemski recorded his first double-double with 10 points and 10 assists. Podziemski nearly recorded a triple-double, adding nine rebounds to his performance. However, Podziemski struggled from the field, shooting from 3-of-16.
