Wisconsin top-ranked 2026 target becomes No. 1-ranked cornerback in his state

Wisconsin top-ranked class of 2026 cornerback target Victor Singleton made a jump in 247Sports’ latest recruiting rankings.

Singleton, who is considered a top-five cornerback prospect for his class across most major recruiting outlets, became 247Sports’ No. 3 overall cornerback and No. 1 cornerback in Ohio for the 2026 cohort.

On Sept. 20, Singleton listed the Badgers in his list of final schools. Luke Fickell’s program was included alongside Missouri, Tennessee, Michigan, Ohio State, Kentucky, Penn State, Oregon, Nebraska and Texas A&M.

As of Nov. 13, over 20 programs have offered the top cornerback. Those also include Pittsburgh, Mississippi State, Louisville, Illinois, Iowa and Cincinnati.

If Singleton commits to UW, the 6-foot, 160-pound cornerback would quickly become Wisconsin’s most significant 2026 acquisition. As of Nov. 13, Wisconsin’s class of 2026 currently has two commitments — three-star QB Jarin Mock and three-star lineman Benjamin Novak.

Unfortunately for Badger fans, both 247Sports and On3 project the top cornerback to land in Columbus with the Ohio State Buckeyes. On3’s recruiting prediction machine assigned a 94.8% likelihood to Ohio State — almost a sure-fire forecast for the junior at this stage of the process.

Still, UW reached out with its offer on Mar. 11, 2024, roughly two months before Singleton’s offers began to balloon. As it stands, the Badgers will be in a bidding war with some of the most prestigious programs in the nation.

2026 4-star CB out of Toledo (OH) has placed Texas A&M in his Top 10 program list

Texas A&M’s 2026 recruiting class looks to add one of the top cornerbacks in the cycle

Texas A&M’s 2026 recruiting class is still in its beginning stages, as head coach Mike Elko’s focus, outside of the 2024 season at hand, is to grow relationships within the 2026 cycle, including one of the top cornerback prospects in the class out of Toledo, Ohio.

Under Elko, the secondary has become a focus compared to Jimbo Fisher’s six year tenure, especially concerning overall length and press-coverage skillset, leading to landing five defensive back commits, inclduing three cornerbacks in the 2025 cycle.

On Friday, 4-star cornerback Victor Singleton revealed his Top 10 program list, as Texas A&M made the cut among Ohio State, Michigan, Tennessee, Missouri, Kentucky, Penn State, Oregon, Wisconsin, and Nebraska.

Mike Elko offered Singelton on Sept. 12th, and hopes to get a visit scheudled in the coming months, especially during the current football season. On the field, Singelton possesses the length and speed to keep up with any receiver on the outside, while his ball skills stood out the most during his 2023 sophomore season.

According to 247Sports, Singleton is currently positioned as the 45th-ranked propsect in the 2026 cycle, the 4th-ranked cornerback prospect, and the 2nd-ranked propsect in Ohio.

Wisconsin makes the top 10 for four-star class of 2026 cornerback

Wisconsin top class of 2026 cornerback target Victor Singleton included the Badgers in his final batch of schools on Friday.

Luke Fickell’s program was listed alongside Missouri, Tennessee, Michigan, Ohio State, Kentucky, Penn State, Oregon, Nebraska and Texas A&M.

Over 20 college programs have extended an offer to Singleton thus far, per 247Sports. Those include Pittsburgh, Mississippi State, Louisville, Illinois, Iowa and Cincinnati.

247Sports considers the 6-foot, 160-pound cornerback the No. 45 overall recruit, No. 4 cornerback and No. 2 recruit from Ohio for the class of 2026. If Wisconsin were able to land the dynamic playmaker, he would emerge as one of Fickell’s most impressive recruiting victories for the class of 2026.

Wisconsin extended its offer to Singleton on Mar. 11, 2024, roughly two months before Singleton’s offers began to balloon. He represents Central Catholic High School in Toledo, Ohio, and is considered a four-star by On3, ESPN, 247Sports and Rivals.

Both 247Sports and On3 project the top cornerback to land at Ohio State. On3’s recruiting prediction machine has the Buckeyes with a 94.9% chance to secure his commitment. 247Sports Ohio State insider Bill Kurelic made a crystal ball prediction in July favoring the Buckeyes as well.

Still, Wisconsin’s inclusion is more than notable. It will now compete with some of the most prestigious programs in the country to land one of the nation’s most promising players.

Ohio State football receives a crystal ball pick for 2026 in-state cornerback

The best in Ohio, stay in Ohio. #GoBucks

Ohio State football sent out plenty of offers during its summer camp sessions, and one of those went to 2026 Toledo cornerback, [autotag]Victor Singleton[/autotag].

The 6-foot, 160-pound prospect is one of the state’s best players, and his ranking backs that up. The 247Sports Composite Rankings has Singleton as the No. 112 overall prospect and 10th ranked cornerback.

It seems like the offer has resonated with Singleton, as on Monday 247Sports Bill Kurelic logged a crystal ball pick for him to eventually commit to the Buckeyes.

One of Ryan Day’s major focuses recruiting has been keeping the best talent to stay in Ohio and play for Ohio State. It looks like that will be the case for Singleton.

Currently Ohio State has just one 2026 commit, wide receiver Chris Henry Jr. If Kurelic is right, then Singleton will be another Ohioan to join the class.
