San Diego State at UNLV odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s San Diego State at UNLV odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The San Diego State Aztecs (3-6, 2-2 Mountain West) and UNLV Rebels (7-2, 3-1) meet Saturday. Kickoff from Allegiant Stadium is scheduled for 10:30 p.m. ET (CBSSN). Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s college football odds around the San Diego State vs. UNLV odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Aztecs suffered a tough 21-16 loss to New Mexico at home last Friday as a 1.5-point favorite, a costly blow to the team’s bowl eligibility hopes. Now, San Diego State must win out to qualify for a bowl. The Aztecs have failed to cover in the past 2 outings, too, while the Under is 2-1 in the past 3 games.

For the Rebels, losses to Syracuse and Boise State in the past 2 home games have derailed talk of a potential run to the College Football Playoff, but a win over Hawaii last week was the team’s seventh victory of the season. The Rebels failed to cover, and they’re just 1-4 against the spread (ATS) in the past 5 outings. The Over has cashed in 4 of the past 6 games.

San Diego State has won 4 straight meetings, and 8 of the past 9 since Sept. 27, 2014. The Rebels are 4-1 ATS in the past 5 in the series, with the Under cashing in 6 of the previous 7 contests.

San Diego State at UNLV picks and predictions

Prediction

UNLV 32, San Diego State 19

Moneyline

UNLV (-2000) will cost you 20 times your potential return, and that’s way too much risk for not nearly enough reward. Even as part of a multi-leg parlay, include the Rebels makes absolutely no sense.

AVOID.

Against the spread

SAN DIEGO STATE +21.5 (-115) is a bit of a risky play, but the hope is that it plays with a ton of urgency given the fact that a loss means no chance of a bowl game.

The Aztecs are a respectable 2-1 ATS in the past 3 games on the road, while the Rebels are a dismal 1-4 ATS in the past 5 games, including 2 straight outright losses in the past 2 at home.

While the Rebels are 4-1 ATS in the past 5 meetings, the Aztecs have won 8 of the past 9 in the series outright. The double-digit under in the past 4 meetings has cashed at a 3-1 ATS rate.

Over/Under

UNDER 54.5 (-105) is worth playing lightly.

The total has gone low in 6 of the past 7 meetings in this Mountain West series.

The Under has hit in 2 of the past 3 games for San Diego State, while going 2-1 in the past 3 games for UNLV.

Boise State at UNLV odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Boise State at UNLV odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The 19th-ranked Boise State Broncos (5-1, 2-0 Mountain West) and UNLV Rebels (6-1, 2-0) meet Friday at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Kickoff is scheduled for 10:30 p.m. ET (CBS Sports Network). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s college football odds around the Boise State vs. UNLV odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Boise State went out to the islands and took care of Hawaii Oct. 12, winning 28-7 while pushing as a 21-point favorite at most shops. The Under (60) cashed, too, halting a 5-game Over streak to begin the season. Prior to the Hawaii game, the Broncos had scored 45 or more points in 4 of the 1st 5 games and 34 or more points in each of the 1st 5 outings.

UNLV posted an impressive 33-25 win at Oregon State as a 6.5-point favorite as the Under (61.5) connected Saturday. UNLV has scored 33 or more points in 4 straight games, while allowing 25 or more points in each of the previous 3. The Over has cashed in 3 of the past 4 games. The Rebels are 5-2 against the spread in the previous 7 contests.

Boise State at UNLV picks and predictions

Prediction

Boise State 37, UNLV 31

Moneyline

If you’re a bit on the conservative side, play BOISE STATE (-165) as a moderate favorite if you don’t want to fiddle around with the points.

It’s a tall order to battle UNLV (+140) in its place, but the difference maker will be Heisman hopeful RB Ashton Jeanty. While the Rebels allow just 104.4 rushing yards per game, they haven’t faced an NFL-caliber tailback like Jeanty, a tailback with 1,248 rushing yards, 9.9 yards per carry and 17 rushing scores in just 6 games.

Against the spread

Back BOISE STATE -3.5 (+100) at even-money laying the points.

The Broncos struggled last weekend in Hawaii, but they likely were looking ahead to this important clash which has playoff implications.

UNLV +3.5 (-120) needs this victory, and QB Hajj-Malik Williams should be able to move the ball through the air against the Broncos. This won’t be a blowout one way or the other. But, again, the difference in this game is Jeanty.

Over/Under

It seems like a rather large number, but OVER 65.5 (-110) is worth a look.

Both of these teams have explosive offenses, and both sides have leaky defense in certain areas. That’s a good recipe for the total to go high.

Boise State has cashed high in 5 of 6 games this season, averaging 523.0 total yards, 289.8 rushing yards and 46.8 points per game, while allowing 26.2 PPG.

For UNLV, it has managed 251.4 rushing yards and 43.6 points per game, while allowing 278.7 passing yards per game and 22.6 PPG. The scoreboard operator will be busy.

UNLV at Utah State odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s UNLV at Utah State odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The UNLV Rebels (4-1, 1-0 Moutain West) are on the road Friday night to face the Utah State Aggies (1-4, 0-1). Kickoff from Merlin Olsen Field at Maverik Stadium is at 9 p.m. ET (CBS Sports). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s college football odds around the UNLV vs. Utah State odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

UNLV dropped out of the top 25 of the US LBM Coaches Poll after a 44-41 overtime home loss to the Syracuse Orange last Friday as 6-point favorites. The Over (55) cashed in. It was the 1st time the Rebels allowed more than 20 points.

The Aggies have lost 4 straight games since a season-opening win over Robert Morris. They lost 62-30 on Saturday to Boise State, failing to cover the 28-point spread as road underdogs. The Over (67) cashed in.

UNLV at Utah State picks and predictions

Prediction

UNLV 59, Utah State 27

Moneyline

Utah State has lost every game to a school most people have heard of. UNLV was just in the top 25.

Based on how the season has gone for both teams, this should be an overwhelming win for the Rebels. But -1100 odds aren’t even worth a look unless you are using that as a leg in a parlay bet.

PASS.

Against the spread

Two of the Aggies’ 3 losses have even by more than 30 points. They have allowed 48.3 points per game in their losses.

Only Syracuse scored more than 20 points against the Rebels, and they have 3 games of scoring over 40 points.

BET UNLV -18.5 (-115).

Over/Under

UNLV’s last 2 games have surpassed this game’s projected total. So have the last 2 games for Utah State. The Aggies gave up 62 to Boise State, while UNLV dropped 59 on Fresno State.

UNLV averages 44.4 points per game, 9th-best in the nation, while Utah State allows an average of 41.4 PPG, 131st of 134 FBS teams.

Syracuse at UNLV odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Syracuse at UNLV odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Syracuse Orange (3-1, 1-1 ACC) are on the road Friday night to take on the No. 23 UNLV Running Rebels (4-0, 1-0 Mountain West). Kickoff from Allegiant Stadium is at 9 p.m. ET (FS1). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s college football odds around the Syracuse vs. UNLV odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Orange bounced back from a 26-24 loss to Stanford and beat Holy Cross 42-14 at home last week but didn’t cover as 30.5-point faves with the Under (59.5) cashing.

The Running Rebels beat Fresno State 59-14 a as 2.5-point home favorites, despite (former) starting QB Matthew Sluka opting to transfer earlier in the week because of an alleged NIL commitment that wasn’t paid. New starting QB Hajj-Malik Williams threw 3 TD passes and rushed for 119 yards and another touchdown in the win.

Syracuse at UNLV picks and predictions

Prediction

UNLV 38, Syracuse 30

Moneyline

These are 2 high-powered offenses. UNLV is averaging 45.2 points per game (PPG) to rank 10th in the country, while Syracuse ranks 40th at 33.8 PPG.

Defensively, UNLV allows 13.8 PPG (tied for 15th); Syracuse yields 22.5 PPG (tied for 63rd).

The wild card here is Williams, who adds a completely different dimension to the Rebels’ offense. They didn’t miss a beat making the change at QB.

Expect more of the same offensively from UNLV and a win, but don’t bet them at -225.

PASS.

Against the spread

UNLV has covered the spread in all 4 of their games this season. Their closest game was a 3-point win over Kansas (23-20) as a 9-point underdog Sept. 13.

Syracuse’s lone loss was the 2-point defeat to Stanford as 9-point home favorites.

Orange QB Kyle McCord — formerly of Ohio State — can sling the ball, but the Syracuse defense will have its hands full with UNLV’s Williams.

BET REBELS -6.5 (-110).

Over/Under

Syracuse has scored 31 or more points 3 times. UNLV has surpassed 50 twice.

BET OVER 58.5 (-105).

Fresno State at UNLV odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Fresno State at UNLV odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Fresno State Bulldogs (3-1, 1-0 Mountain West) and UNLV Rebels (3-0, 0-0) will lock horns and match wits in Saturday Mountain West Conference action in Las Vegas. Kick time at Allegiant Stadium will be 3:30 p.m. ET (FS1). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s college football odds around Fresno State vs. UNLV odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Fresno State defeated New Mexico 38-21 last week, marking the Bulldogs’ 3rd straight win since opening with a loss at current-No. 12 Michigan. FSU was outgained by more than 100 yards in the win over the Lobos. The Bulldogs were a plus-2 in turnovers, and UNM was tagged with 17 penalties.

UNLV is No. 23 in the US LBM Coaches Poll. The Rebels have been solid in the ground game, averaging 293.3 rushing yards per game. On defense, Nevada-Las Vegas has allowed just 41 points in 3 games. The Rebels head into this contest off a bye week.

Fresno State at UNLV picks and predictions

Prediction

Fresno State 31, UNLV 24

Moneyline

Fresno (+110) is the lean, but the 2.5 points makes the ATS action a better value. PASS.

Against the spread

Nevada-Las Vegas has not beaten Fresno State since 2017; the Bulldogs have won 6 straight since.

UNLV starting QB Matthew Sluka left the program over an NIL dispute, and several other UNLV players have indicated a desire to redshirt with the thought of transferring. So, the Rebels — who now insert former FCS Campbell signal-caller Hajj-Malik Williams at QB — are dealing with some off-the-field havoc here in Week 5. Williams may actually improve the UNLV passing game, but Sluka exits as the Rebels’ leading rusher.

Fresno State’s offense can sling it around. The Bulldogs’ 272.2 yards per game rank 36th in FBS. And FSU is likely facing a Las Vegas defense that is worse against the pass than what shows in surface numbers. And overall, the UNLV defense has its numbers pumped up a bit by 2 games in which UNLV allowed fewer than 60 snaps. Look for FSU to stay on schedule with its aerial game.

The Rebels have a Sept. 13 win at Kansas that, while an impressive performance in general, does not really hold up to advanced-stats scrutiny. The Jayhawks were undone by 90 yards in penalties and a minus-2 in turnovers.

Peg UNLV as being over-bet in this spot. BACK FRESNO STATE +2.5 (-110).

Over/Under

Last year’s meeting, a 31-24 FSU triumph, edged the Under 55.5, breaking a 4-year Over streak for the series.

Expect some game-flow point spiral here. UNLV’s passing attack could well get an uptick from the unexpected change at quarterback. The Bulldogs have logged some shaky 3rd-and-4th-down numbers that don’t jibe with early-down proficiency.

Red-zone trips will loom large, but the Over is the value side of this contest. FanDuel Sportsbook has more of a leverage tag here: BET OVER 49.5 (-115).

UNLV at Kansas odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s UNLV at Kansas odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The UNLV Rebels (2-0) and the Kansas Jayhawks (1-1) meet Friday at Children’s Mercy Park in Kansas City, Kan. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (ESPN). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s college football odds around the UNLV vs. Kansas odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Rebels have already rolled a Big 12 opponent this season on the road, topping the Houston Cougars 27-7 on Aug. 31 as a 3.5-point favorite. UNLV was so dominant in that game, that it nearly had the shutout before the Cougars scored with 60 seconds left to avoid the goose egg.

UNLV routed Utah Tech of the FCS 72-14 last week, easily covering as a 41.5-point favorite to move to 2-0 against the spread (ATS). The Rebels defense has been strong, and that’s an area to watch.

Kansas spanked FCS Lindenwood 48-3 in the opener Aug. 29 as a 49.5-point favorite as the Under (63.5) connected. However, a ranked Jayhawks team went to Illinois last week and suffered a 23-17 setback as a 5-point favorite as the Under (58.5) cashed for a 2nd straight outing. Kansas didn’t help itself with 4 turnovers committed.

UNLV at Kansas picks and predictions

Prediction

Kansas 30, UNLV 24

Moneyline

Kansas (-350) will set you back 3 1/2 times your return, if you don’t want to mess around with the points. But, that’s way too much risk, and not enough return, especially for a team which was handled by Illinois last week, a mid-tier Big Ten team.

If anything, betting UNLV (+275) is a worthwhile play. At BetMGM, the line is +260, but FanDuel Sportsbook will pay you a little more straight up, if you want to roll the dice there. To avoid any confusion, we’re not officially suggesting it, just giving you options if you’re interested in backing the Rebels while shopping around for the best price.

PASS.

Against the spread

UNLV +8.5 (-105) is a solid play, as it should keep this game within 1-score, at the very least.

This Rebels team has been underrated a bit, and Kansas -8.5 (-115) might have been a bit overrated coming into the season. The books don’t appear to have adjusted, so take advantage.

Over/Under

UNDER 58.5 (-115) is the way to go here.

Both teams have shown off some decent defense, especially against FBS opponents.

Kansas lost at Illinois, but it held the Illini to just 79 rushing yards on 34 attempts, while allowing 192 passing yards.

UNLV limited Houston to just 38 rushing yards on 26 attempts in the opener, while posting a plus-1 turnover ratio in the opener. It dominated the FCS opponent last week, too, but we’ll focus more on efforts against FBS foes only.

San Diego State at UNLV odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s San Diego State at UNLV odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The San Diego State Aztecs (22-7, 11-5 Mountain West) and UNLV Rebels (18-10, 11-5) tangle Tuesday in Las Vegas. Tip-off from the Thomas & Mack Center will be at 10 p.m. ET (CBS Sports Network). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook‘s lines around the San Diego State vs. UNLV odds, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and best bets.

San Diego State, ranked No. 19 in the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll, has been off for a week after defeating San Jose State 72-64 last Tuesday, failing to cover as a 22-point home favorite. The MWC’s leading defensive squad — 66 points per game (PPG) allowed — has gone 4-1 while allowing 59.6 PPG over its last 5 contests.

UNLV is also coming off a victory against SJSU; the Rebels covered as 13½-point home favorites in a 68-50 triumph over the Spartans Saturday. Since Feb. 21, Nevada-Las Vegas is 4-0 straight up and against the spread (ATS).

SDSU defeated UNLV 72-61 and covered as an 8.5-point favorite when these MWC foes met Jan. 6.

San Diego State at UNLV picks and predictions

Prediction

San Diego State 72, UNLV 69

Moneyline

SDSU is the lean. The tag here marks an overpayment for a slim advantage in win probability. AVOID.

Against the spread

Since 2022, SDSU is 5-0 straight up and ATS in this series. Over the last 3 meetings, the Aztecs have averaged 76.7 PPG to the Rebels’ 66.3.

San Diego State plays elite defense. KenPom pegs SDSU’s defensive efficiency as 9th in the nation. The Aztecs excel in preventing good looks both inside and along the arc.

UNLV deserves credit; the Rebels are 5-1 ATS in 6 games against Quad 1 talent, according to BartTorvik.com. But figure the Aztecs as having a 3-to-5 point edge in this contest.

BACK SAN DIEGO STATE -1.5 (-110).

Play our free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under

The pace in this one figures to be slow, but this total is 2 points higher than the total listed in the Jan. 6 meeting. Both teams can get out in transition after forcing turnovers, and it figures SDSU can get to the free-throw line quite a few times in this matchup.

Three-point shooting figures — both offensive and defensive — have some regression lean to them favoring a decent night for perimeter shooters.

TAKE THE OVER 136.5 (-110).

Nevada-Las Vegas has won 5 straight games, including a 25-23 triumph over Colorado State Saturday (as a -6.5 favorite). A powerful UNLV run game was held to its lowest yardage total (138) since Sept. 16, but the Rebels prevailed thanks to a field goal with 3 seconds remaining, UNLV’s 209.6 rushing yards per game rank 14th in the nation.

The Bulldogs — winners of 5 in a row (3-2 ATS) vs. UNLV — last played on Oct. 13 when they failed to cover a -5.5 in a 37-32 win at Utah State. The ATS setback was Fresno State’s 3rd in a row. FSU is the other side of the Rebels run-game coin. The Bulldogs are averaging 302.9 YPG (15th FBS) through the air.

UNLV at Fresno State picks and predictions

Prediction

Fresno State 28, UNLV 20

Moneyline

Both teams have played dodgy schedules so far. The host Bulldogs have more explosive-play ability and some upside in turning drives into more points. Other than that, there are similar strength and weaknesses in this match-up.

A Fresno 80% win probability actually has more value to me than the ATS play below, but most bankrolls would PASS on that action.

Against the spread

Same as above. There is a lean on FSU, but both offenses can be dinged enough so as to want to avoid the risk of this spread. PASS.

Over/Under

The total has gone Under in 6 of UNLV’s last 9 games on the road.

The Rebels (35.7 points per game) and Bulldogs (34.0) rank 1st and 4th, respectively, in MWC scoring. But just over the last 5 weeks, both squads have had multiple games where takeaways are fueling short-field scores.

Some normalized field-position exchange in this one would net a decent chance of a game flow that runs out of gas in the low-50s.

BACK THE UNDER 57.5 (-110).

UNLV at Michigan odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s UNLV at Michigan odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The UNLV Rebels (1-0) take a trip to Ann Arbor to visit the Michigan Wolverines (1-0) Saturday. Kickoff from Michigan Stadium is set for 3:30 p.m. (CBS). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the UNLV vs. Michigan odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Rebels are coming off a 44-14 win in Week 1 vs. the Bryant Bulldogs. UNLV’s rushing attack was what propelled them as they ran for 268 yards and 5 TDs. RB Vincent Davis Jr. ran for 79 yards and 1 TD on only 3 carries. The Rebels only had 126 passing yards and starting QB Doug Brumfield completed just 61% of his passes (11 of 18) for 86 yards and 1 INT.

The Wolverines are highly favored for their 2nd-straight game after beating the East Carolina Pirates 30-3. QB J.J. McCarthy impressed in the win, hitting 26 of 30 passes (87% ) for 280 yards and 3 TDs. The RB duo of Blake Corum and Donovan Edwards combined for 110 rushing yards and 1 TD on 22 carries. WR Roman Wilson had 6 catches for 78 yards and 3 TDs.

The Wolverines will be coached by defensive coordinator Jesse Minter as coach Jim Harbaugh serves the 2nd game of his 3-game suspension.

Michigan is No. 2 in the USA TODAY Sports AFCA Coaches Poll.

UNLV at Michigan picks and predictions

Prediction

Michigan 35, UNLV 10

Moneyline

PASS.

The Wolverines will win here, but as (-10000) favorites the line is not worth the juice. Bet on the spread and/or total instead.

Against the spread

LEAN UNLV +37.5 (-110).

While the Wolverines will pick up the blowout win here, I’m not sure they’ll be able to cover as a 37.5-point favorite. UNLV is a very run-heavy team and that will likely lead to some long drives for them. Those long drives will keep the ball out of Michigan’s hands, making it hard for them to score enough points to cover.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 57.5 (-115).

Michigan’s defense allowed nothing vs. the Pirates last week, and I expect that trend to continue vs. a very 1-dimensional UNLV offense. The Rebels showed last week they have no intentions of trying to punish teams through the air, which will make them easy to defend. With both teams preferring to be dominant on the ground, there will likely be a lot of long drives, making it hard for this game to hit the over.

MWC Tournament: Air Force vs. UNLV odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Air Force vs. UNLV odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The 10th-seeded Air Force Falcons (14-17) and No. 7 UNLV Rebels (18-12) meet Wednesday in Mountain West Conference Tournament quarterfinal. Tip-off at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas is 4:30 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Air Force vs. UNLV odds, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and bets.

Air Force arrives at the MWC Tournament having lost its last 3 games. The Falcons finished 5-13 and in 10th place in the regular-season and they have won just twice since Jan. 21.

UNLV defeated Air Force 54-53 on Feb. 24 as part of a 7-11 record in MWC play. A solid offense for much of the season, the Rebels have scuffled their way to a mere 37.5% mark from the field in their last 7 games.

Against the spread

UNLV will be susceptible to the Falcons’ distance game, but the Rebels defense should be able to create enough turnovers to frequently short-circuit the Air Force attack. The Rebels-by-a-touchdown is a fair line. PASS.

Over/Under

These 2 played a 107-point game Feb. 24, and the Under has hit in back-to-back series meetings.

Air Force plays at a snail’s pace. UNLV plays rabbit ball, but the Rebels’ tempo has been on the decline of late. The Under is 3-1 in their last 4.

UNLV just does not shoot the ball well enough to spiral the score like it spirals possessions.

TAKE THE UNDER 134.5 (-110).
