What uniform is Penn State wearing in the Peach Bowl?

Which uniform is Penn State wearing for the Peach Bowl against Ole Miss?

The Peach Bowl is nearly here as Penn State has made the trip down south to begin the final preparations for their postseason matchup against Ole Miss in Atlanta. The first-ever meeting with the Rebels in Penn State history will have an opportunity to create some college football history as Penn State looks to become the first school in college football to record a win in each of the New Years Six bowl games. If they do manage to get that historic win, they will do so looking their finest.

Penn State will be wearing their traditional home uniforms with blue jerseys for the Peach Bowl, the team recently confirmed. This will be the first time Penn State has worn its home look in a bowl game since the 2019 Cotton Bowl, a high-scoring victory over Memphis.

Penn State wore their all-white uniform for each of their last two bowl trips, the 2022 Outback Bowl loss to Arkansas and last season’s Rose Bowl victory over Utah.

That means Ole Miss will be wearing its white road uniforms for the game. The Rebels have some options to play with their helmets though, although it would be best if they wear their powder blue helmet.

While Penn State may be wearing their home uniforms, the school is asking fans attending the game in Atlanta to wear white to the game. The Peach Bowl has sold out the 71,000-seat Mercedes-Benz Stadium, so there figures to be a good number of Penn State fans in Atlanta for the game.

Penn State faces Ole Miss in the Peach Bowl on Saturday, Dec. 30 at 12:00 p.m. ET. The game will air on ESPN.

Falcons to wear all-black uniforms vs. Colts in Week 16

The Falcons will wear their black uniforms with black pants during Sunday’s game against the Colts

The Atlanta Falcons (6-8) can give their fans an early Christmas present with a win over the Indianapolis Colts (8-6) at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Sunday.

After losing two straight games, the team has handed the reins over to backup quarterback Taylor Heinicke in a last-ditch effort to save a season that’s slipping away. The NFC South is still up for grabs, but the team has little margin for error over the final three games.

The Falcons will wear their black uniforms with black pants during Sunday’s game against the Colts, the team announced on Thursday.

The Falcons are 2.5-point favorites over the Colts in Week 16. Check out the team’s latest injury report and depth chart heading into Sunday’s game.

Saints will be wearing their Color Rush uniforms against the Rams, with a twist

The Saints will be wearing their Color Rush uniforms against the Rams, with a twist. They might be shelving their controversial black helmets:

Now this is interesting. The New Orleans Saints (7-7) are hitting the road for a huge game with the Los Angeles Rams (7-7) on Thursday night, and they’ve announced that they’ll be wearing the fan-favorite “Color Rush” alternate uniforms for this prime-time game — with a twist.

It looks like the Saints are ditching the controversial black helmets they’ve paired with these all-white uniforms since last year’s game with the Minnesota Vikings in London. Their announcement on social media uses older photos of players wearing the usual gold helmets, not these new black ones, which drew a mixed reaction from fans for clashing with the jerseys and pants.

Hopefully that’s the case. Black helmets could work for the Saints if paired with the right uniforms (like their classic throwbacks) and if given a little more polish. We’ll find out for sure at kickoff. If you’re curious, the Saints were 9-5 in their “Color Rush” variants with gold helmets, and winless in three games with black helmets.

And if you’re superstitious, here’s how that compares to the other kits used since 2006 (not including the controversial gold jerseys used in a loss back in 2003):

Saints announce uniform combo for Week 15 vs. Giants

The Saints announced their uniform combo for Week 15’s game against the Giants: black jerseys and matching black pants

There it is: the New Orleans Saints (6-7) announced they will be wearing their black jerseys and matching black pants for Sunday’s kickoff with the New York Giants (5-8), an appropriate look for the final leg of their three-game homestand. The Saints badly need a win to stay alive in the NFC South title race and once again claw back to a .500 record with the regular season finale in sight.

If you’re curious, the Saints have worn this uniform combo in 89 games since the start of the 2006 season, logging a 52-37 record along the way. Here’s how that compares to the other kits used since 2006 (not including the controversial gold jerseys used in a loss back in 2003):

ESPN not at all impressed by Florida’s blackout uniforms

Florida’s blackout jerseys were among the bottom-10 uniforms in 2023 according to ESPN.

The product the Florida football program put on the field this past season was anything but pretty. According to ESPN, one of the Gators’ alternate uniforms worn this fall was not just ugly, but one of the 10 worst duds of the 2023 campaign.

Senior writer Ryan McGee took on the task of listing the bottom 10 unis worn by college teams over the past few months, and predictably, Florida’s blackout jerseys against the Arkansas Razorbacks were among the bottom of the barrel.

“The Gators still own the distinction of having won our Bottom 10 All-Time Worst Uniforms title a few years back, via their duds that were supposed to resemble real gator skin but wound up looking like tree bark,” McGee begins.

In case one has forgotten, he is alluding to the reptile uniforms worn in the Swamp back in 2017 against the Texas A&M Aggies. Florida lost that game, 19-17.

“There were no such distracting details in their military salute unis against Arkansas, which instead were solid black. Not orange. Not blue. Not even white. Black. At noon in central Florida.

“Those in the Swamp were having a difficult time deciding how they felt about the look. But when the Hogs were already up 14-0 after three minutes of play, Florida fans’ minds had gone to a place as dark as the threads on the field.”

To add fuel to the fire, the Miami Hurricanes also took a tough loss wearing their blackout uniforms against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. The Florida State Seminoles, on the other hand, stuck to their traditional colors and went undefeated.

Maybe the Orange and Blue should stick to what works.

Saints will wear throwback uniforms for Week 14 game vs. Panthers

The New Orleans Saints will be breaking out their black and gold throwback uniforms for Week 14’s game with the Carolina Panthers:

This is cool: the New Orleans Saints will be breaking out their black and gold throwback uniforms for Week 14’s game with the Carolina Panthers, dusting them off for the second time in as many years (they were used in last season’s Week 11 win over the Los Angeles Rams after going on a long hiatus).

The Saints are 3-1 in these throwback kits dating back to 2006, with the only loss coming in a 2016 defeat to the Detroit Lions. They have the best win percentage (.750) in the old-school throwbacks, modeled after the team’s uniforms from the inaugural 1967 season jerseys and pants, of any uniform combo in the modern ear of Saints football.

Here’s how the Saints’ winning percentage in different uniforms compare since 2006, if you’re curious (not including the controversial gold jerseys used in a loss back in 2003):

Falcons to wear white uniforms vs. Jets in Week 13

The Falcons will wear their white uniforms with black pants in Sunday’s game against the New York Jets

The Atlanta Falcons can get their record back to .500 with a win over the New York Jets this Sunday at MetLife Stadium.

While the Jets won’t have quarterback Aaron Rodgers, they’re still a tough team with a good defense and ground game. Atlanta needs to take care of business to stay atop the NFC South.

According to the team’s Twitter account, the Falcons will be wearing white jerseys with black pants against the Jets in Week 13.

The Falcons listed wide receiver Mack Hollins and cornerback Mike Hughes as questionable on Friday’s injury report. Hollins missed Week 12 due to an ankle injury and was limited for all three days of practice this week.

Notre Dame football: Especially gold pants for Irish at Stanford?

Dig em?

Earlier this year Notre Dame went white-on-white in their road slate at Clemson.  To most of our memory, it was the first time we could recall the Irish wearing their traditional jerseys but having anything other than gold pants.

For Saturday night’s finale it looks like the Irish may be taking a little bit of a step back in time in regards to their pants.  Instead of the mustard-ish looking pants Notre Dame has worn for years now, the picture that Notre Dame Football’s official account posted to Twitter a few hours before the game revealed a different tint of gold pants.

Take a look for yourself below.

These are certainly a lot more of the gold look that Notre Dame wore before changing things up in 2012.

Stanford has also revealed special helmets for Saturday’s game.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET out west and can be seen live on the Pac 12 Network.

See it: Stanford debuting new helmets for ’23 finale vs. Notre Dame

A new look for Stanford on Saturday night…

Saturday night will be Stanford’s final game as a member of the Pac 12 conference.

The Cardinal host Notre Dame in the annual rivalry game as they look to pull a massive upset of the Irish for a second year in a row.  If they do or don’t won’t impact their bowl eligibility as Stanford sits just 3-8 on the year.

Regardless of all that, Stanford will debut a new look in Saturday night’s contest.

For the first time in program history, Stanford will have a cardinal red helmet.  They announced the decision earlier this week on social media.  Check out the look below.

To me they look like they’re trying really hard to be Indiana which is exactly what one should always want to do in football.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET as the game can be seen on the Pac 12 Network.

Michigan football reveals uniform combo for Ohio State game

SMOOTH! #GoBlue

Michigan football is looking to repeat history — both in terms of winning three in a row against Ohio State and winning a national championship as it had in 1997, but also in terms of how it did it.

And given a new tradition of beating the Buckeyes was born in 2021 when the Wolverines upset OSU at home, Michigan is going, at least aesthetically, to the look it had that year.

On Friday, the official Michigan football account posted the uniform combo that the Wolverines intend to wear for the 2023 iteration of The Game, and for the second time this season as well as in the rivalry, Michigan will wear all blue vs. the Buckeyes.

Michigan beat Ohio State in 2021 wearing all blue for the first time in the rivalry, and the maize and blue have only lost one game wearing the all-blue jerseys — 2021’s College Football Playoff semifinal against Georgia.
