The Atlanta Falcons (4-5) have announced their uniform combination for Sunday’s matchup against the Arizona Cardinals (1-8). According to the team’s Twitter account, Atlanta will wear its white uniforms with black pants in Week 10.

Sunday’s game kicks off at 4:05 p.m. ET at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. The Falcons have lost two straight games while the Cardinals have only one win all season.

Quarterback Kyler Murray is expected to make his season debut in Week 10. Atlanta is currently a 1.5-point favorite over Arizona.

The Falcons will wear their black jerseys with black pants against the Vikings on Sunday

The Atlanta Falcons (4-4) will be sporting the Johnny Cash look when they host the Minnesota Vikings (4-4) in Week 9. The Falcons are set to wear their black uniforms with black pants on Sunday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, the team announced on Friday.

The Falcons have been considerably better at home (3-1) than on the road (1-3) this season. After losing to the Tennessee Titans in Week 8, the team will attempt to bounce back against the Vikings and rookie quarterback Jaren Hall.

Kirk Cousins suffered a torn Achilles in Minnesota’s Week 8 win over the Packers. Despite trading for QB Josh Dobbs, the Vikings are rolling with Hall in Week 9.

Florida Gators drop a tease for Saturday’s blackout uniforms

The Florida Gators will be wearing all-black on Saturday when they take on the Arkansas Razorbacks.

The highly anticipated, first-ever blackout game for Florida football is this Saturday and the Gators equipment staff is already teasing the new uniforms to the masses.

The only “real” look the Florida faithful has seen are close-up pictures of the black helmet, jersey and pants. There haven’t been any photoshoots yet, but authentic replica jerseys have been for sale at most Gators sports shops on UF campus, around the city of Gainesville, and online stores.

The Gators Twitter-verse will likely be blessed with a few more video and picture teases throughout the week, but for now, we’ll have to settle for a 10-second clip from the equipment staff, taking a peek at the new helmets.

Saturday’s game against the Arkansas Razorbacks is labeled as the “Saluting Those Who Serve Game,” and the blackout jerseys are acting as a  commemorative tribute to the armed forces and first responders.

Florida head coach Billy Napier is elated about Gators fans enjoying the look of the blackout jerseys, but wants to make sure they understand the tribute.

“I know Gator Nation is excited about the team wearing black uniforms, but I don’t want us to lose sight of the intent relative to creating awareness and showing gratitude and appreciation for all branches of our military and first responders,” said Napier. “We’re doing something that’s going to be a lot of fun, but ultimately, we’re hopeful that we can recognize and show appreciation for a lot of selfless people that have chosen a profession of service and put their lives at risk each day.”

The only downside to wearing all-black uniforms is that the Gators and Razorbacks are kicking off at noon EST under a hot Florida sun. Although, that might be more of a complaint for the student section, who will be baking on the east side.

The Gators show off their new uniforms while the game broadcasts live on ESPN2.

Falcons to wear black and white uniforms in Week 7

The Falcons are wearing their black uniforms with white pants against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 7

In Week 7, the Atlanta Falcons (3-3) will take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-2) in a game that will determine first place in the NFC South. Both teams are coming off losses in Week 6.

The Buccaneers are 1-2 at home this season and the Falcons have yet to win a road game. Atlanta will be wearing its black uniforms with white pants in Week 7, according to the team’s official website.

Jaguars not wearing throwback uniforms for ‘homecoming’ game vs. 49ers

No, that retro logo on the Jaguars’ scoreboards Sunday wasn’t teasing that throwback uniforms are coming in Week 10.

The Jacksonville Jaguars won’t be wearing throwback uniforms during a home game against the San Francisco 49ers.

On Sunday, the scoreboards at EverBank Stadium teased the Week 10 “homecoming” game with retro logos for the 49ers and Jaguars.

The promo had many excited about the idea that the Jaguars could be wearing uniforms or helmets from sometime before the team changed its logo to its current one in 2013. Paul Lukas of UniWatch reached out to the Jaguars to ask if that’s the case and was told it isn’t.

“Our 49ers game is also Legends Weekend, hence the retro logo,” a Jaguars spokesperson told Lukas. “We will not be wearing throwback uniforms for that game. We’ll be welcoming back alumni from the last 29 seasons.”

The Jaguars have made several uniform changes in their history, most recently dropping their two-toned helmets for their current look in 2018. With NFL teams eligible to change their uniform after five years, many fans have hoped Jacksonville would return to its uniform design from the 1990s and the majority of the 2000s.

At the very least, many fans hoped the Jaguars would take advantage of the NFL’s relaxed rules regarding alternate uniforms and helmets. But it would’ve been surprising if Jacksonville wore throwbacks during the 2023 season after not unveiling the look during the offseason like most other teams.

Penn State reveals Generations of Greatness uniforms for UMass game

Penn State will roll out its alternate football uniform this week vs. UMass.

Penn State is not one of those college football programs that will roll out a special uniform every other week or multiple times per year. And the way Penn State does things, a casual college football viewer may not even be able to tell when Penn State does suit up in their take on an alternative uniform.

This week will see Penn State bring out its signature “Generations of Greatness” uniform featuring a mix of classic looks and tributes to generations past. The changes are subtle for most, but they are there for the uniform diehards to enjoy.

Assuming Penn State is sticking to its typical look for the Generations of Greatness uniform, Penn State will add a uniform number to each player’s helmet, the numbering on the jerseys will be slightly different from their traditional block numbers, and the white pants will feature a blue stripe down the leg. Players will also wear white shoes instead of the classic black Nike sneakers.

We previously dug into each uniform nugget in the Generations of Greatness uniform, in case you missed it.

It was previously announced that this would be the week for the Generations of Greatness uniforms, but it would be interesting to see if Penn State has any new wrinkles to unveil with the look this year. Or maybe we are reading too much into the tweet shared by [autotag]James Franklin[/autotag] on social media.

Penn State will host UMass this Saturday, Oct,. 14 at 3:30 p.m. ET. The game will air on Big Ten Network. The Nittany Lions are a massive betting favorite in the game.

Jaguars reveal uniform combo for Week 3 vs. Texans

The Jaguars are switching up their look for their second home game of the season.

The Jacksonville Jaguars will be iced out in their all-white uniform combination for a Week 3 home game against the Houston Texans, the team announced Wednesday.

Jacksonville was in white jerseys for a Week 1 win against the Indianapolis Colts, but had black pants. Last week, the Jaguars were in all teal for their home opener against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Last year, the Jaguars were 2-0 in their all-white look, wearing them in blowout wins against the Los Angeles Chargers and New York Jets.

The Houston Texans’ uniform combination hasn’t been announced, but the Jaguars in all white doesn’t leave much mystery. The Texans will be in their dark blue jerseys and will presumably wear white pants.

Jacksonville is 14-28 all-time against the Texans and snapped a nine-game losing streak against the team with a 31-3 win on New Year’s Day last season. Houston finished last year with a 3-13-1 record, but picked up a win in a Week 5 road game at EverBank Stadium.

Michigan football announces uniform combo for Week 2

For the first two weeks of the 2023 season, with both games at home, Michigan football has gone with the traditional look. But like we’ve seen in recent years, starting in 2021, the Wolverines have modernized how they dress on the field.

We’ve seen Michigan wear the traditional blue top and maize bottoms with different colored accessories — maize, white, and blue. We’ve seen it wear all blue, starting with the 2021 night game against Washington. We’ve seen it wear the all-white road uniforms, as well as white tops with either maize pants or blue pants.

On Saturday, the maize and blue will depart from traditional back into the modern.

The team announced that the Week 3 night game against Bowling Green will see Michigan don ‘all blue everything’ with the traditional blue jersey with blue pants and blue accessories.

Certainly, the uniform combos will change game-by-game. Michigan has but one more home game after Week 3 before it hits the road for two straight weeks.

At home. Michigan is undefeated wearing all blue uniforms, but did lose to Georgia in the College Football Playoff in 2021 with the same combo.

New Orleans Saints announce uniform combo for Week 1 game vs. Titans

The New Orleans Saints announced which uniform combination they’ll be wearing in the first game of their 2023 regular season: black jerseys and matching black pants. It’s a common look for them at home in games like this one against the Tennessee Titans.

In fact, it’s a uniform combo the Saints have used more often than any other since 2006 — 85 times, including playoff games. They’re 49-36 in these kits all-time, and they’ll be looking to win their 50th game in the all-blacks on Sunday.

If you’re curious, superstitious, or just want to dress accordingly, here are the records the Saints have achieved in each of the eight different uniform sets we’ve seen from them dating back to 2006:

Good things have happened when the Lions rock the all-white alternate uniforms

When the Detroit Lions take the field at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City on Thursday night, root for white. The Lions will be wearing their alternate white uniforms: white jerseys, white pants, and white socks.

For a team whose official colors are Honolulu blue and silver, the Lions have been pretty successful rocking the white-on-white uniforms. They debuted in 2021, and the Lions captured one of their three victories that year in the all-whites.

Last season, Detroit broke out the dress whites twice. Wins over the New York Giants and Green Bay Packers kept the victory vibes going with the clean kits.
