Chiefs reveal uniform combination for Super Bowl LIX

See which uniform combination the Kansas City #Chiefs will wear in their matchup against the Philadelphia #Eagles in Super Bowl LIX.

On Tuesday, the Kansas City Chiefs revealed a first look at the uniforms they will wear in Super Bowl LIX, which features an iconic patch to commemorate the team’s third-consecutive appearance in the Big Game.

The selection of Super Bowl uniforms is a time-honored tradition dating back to the first game in 1969.

In their last five appearances, the Chiefs have alternated between home and away uniforms, but being the away team this year, the defending Super Bowl champions will wear their classic white tops and red pants.

Take a look at Kansas City’s uniforms in a post on their official Twitter account:

The uniforms shown in the Chiefs’ tweet are for tight end Travis Kelce, quarterback Patrick Mahomes, and defensive lineman Chris Jones, but fans can get a better look at what their favorite players will be wearing on the team’s Twitter and Instagram accounts.

Expect to see the sharp uniforms on full display when Kansas City takes on the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Notre Dame shows off national championship uniform fit

Notre Dame has a nice fit for the national championship game.

With the Notre Dame Fighting Irish being the home team in the college football national championship game against the Ohio State Buckeyes, that means the white jerseys are out. It’s back to the blue.

As a tweet from the team shows, the uniforms have the 2025 national championship logo and the players names are in gold on the back. The numbers are white and ringed with gold trim.

Helmets and pants are, of course, gold, and the white cleats have gold bottoms.

Win or lose, the Irish should look sharp in the College Football Playoff title matchup in Atlanta.

Ford Field will be black and blue on Sunday night for the Detroit Lions’ Week 18 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. Get ready for the black jerseys with blue trim and the blue helmets with black accents for the Lions in the 2024 NFL regular-season finale from Detroit.

While the team did not come out and explicitly state they will wear the black and blues, a pair of social media posts from the Lions themselves would strongly indicate that will be the case. From the Lions’ Instagram feed:

For their final road game of the 2024 regular season, the Detroit Lions will break out their dress white uniforms. The Lions announced on social media they will rock the white jersey, white pants and white sock combination for Monday night’s game in San Francisco against the 49ers.

The game will mark the eighth time in eight road games that the Lions wear the all-white package. That includes the Week 16 trip to Chicago. Detroit is unbeaten in the white uniforms this year, with the Lions looking for the first undefeated road record in franchise history during the Super Bowl era.

The Kansas City Chiefs are part of a new tradition of having teams play on Christmas Day. The Saturday before, they will receive their unique uniform patch.

To celebrate the occasion, the four competing teams in the NFL Holiday Remix—the Baltimore Ravens, Houston Texans, Kansas City Chiefs, and Pittsburgh Steelers—will wear a festive, holiday-inspired uniform patch during their games on Saturday, Dec. 21, and again on Christmas Day. The patch features the NFL shield backed by two candy canes.

“The NFL on Christmas has become a holiday staple with families coming together to celebrate and watch NFL games,” said Tim Ellis, NFL executive vice president of marketing. “This year, we look forward to the start of a new holiday tradition with Netflix, which will be seen around the world. These holiday-inspired uniform patches are a great touch to mark this special occasion.”

The Chiefs’ matchup with the Steelers on Wednesday begins the first of a three-season partnership with Netflix to broadcast NFL games on Christmas Day. Play-by-play announcer Ian Eagle, analysts Nate Burleson and JJ Watt, and sideline reporters Melanie Collins and Stacey Dales will be on the call.

What uniforms will Packers and Seahawks be wearing on SNF?

It’ll be the Packers’ all-white uniforms vs. the Seahawks’ “Action Green” neon uniforms on Sunday Night Football.

Get ready for an exceedingly bright uniform matchup between the Green Bay Packers and Seattle Seahawks on “Sunday Night Football” from Seattle.

The visiting Packers will be wearing their new all-white uniforms, featuring alternate white helmets, while the Seahawks will be donning their “Action Green” uniform set at home at Lumen Field.

The Packers will be wearing the all-whites for the second time this season. Green Bay beat the Houston Texans on a walk-off field goal from Brandon McManus while wearing the uniform for the first time in the “Winter Warning” game on Oct. 20.

The Seahawks will be wearing the “Action Green” uniform for the first time. The set is reserved for home night games.

Per the team, the Seahawks have won five of seven games while wearing the neon-colored uniforms, although they lost 31-13 to the San Francisco 49ers in a Thursday night battle last year.

Of course, in an alternate universe, the Packers and Seahawks are giving us this classic, unbeatable uniform matchup:

Alas, we do not live in that universe. It’ll be all-white vs. neon green on Sunday night.

Get ready for a blackout on Sunday in Ford Field.

The Lions will welcome the Buffalo Bills to Detroit in Week 15 in the marquee game of the weekend. And they’ll do so wearing their new black-and-blue uniforms.

It will be the second time for the Lions to rock the black jerseys and blue helmets. They made their triumphant debut in Week 4, Detroit’s Monday night win over the visiting Seattle Seahawks.

Now they’ll hope to replicate the winning outcome against the 10-3 Bills, who clinched the AFC East division in Week 13. Buffalo is coming off a Sunday night loss in Los Angeles to the Rams.

Michigan football announces uniform combo for Ohio State game

There are three ways to go for Michigan football when it comes to going on the road. Of course, the Wolverines will always wear the white jersey tops, but with three different pant choices, there are three different looks.

At home against Ohio State, the past two times they’ve played in Ann Arbor, Michigan wore the ‘big game blues,’ with blue tops and blue pants. However, while the white top with blue pants has tended to be the big road game uniform, in 2022, the last time the Wolverines played in Columbus, Michigan wore the all-whites — white tops and white pants.

The maize and blue are headed on the road to Columbus again, hoping to make it a fourth straight win over the rival Buckeyes. This time, they’ll be wearing white tops and white pants.

 

While there’s no correlation at this point as to ‘if Michigan wears this, the win percentage is this.’ But, of course, any way you slice it, win or lose on Saturday, the Wolverines will be looking good.

LSU Tigers wearing alternate uniforms for game against Oklahoma Sooners

Oklahoma’s opponent this week will be wearing alternate jerseys at home.

The Oklahoma Sooners hit the road for the final game of the regular season, as their Week 14 battle will come against the LSU Tigers. Head coaches [autotag]Brent Venables[/autotag] and Brian Kelly will face off for the first time with both teams hoping to improve their postseason destination in the [autotag]SEC[/autotag].

Two teams with iconic uniforms will match up in this game, but one team will be changing up their look. LSU announced on social media that they will be wearing alternate jerseys at home on senior night.

This is notable because the Tigers are one of a very small number of teams that typically wear white jerseys at home, forcing their opponent to wear their traditional home color uniforms. This week, however, LSU will be breaking out purple alternate jerseys, meaning the Sooners will be wearing their traditional road, white jerseys.

The Tigers will also wear white helmets and pants, another change, as they traditionally wear yellow. It’s still a good look, don’t get me wrong, but it’ll certainly be jarring to see LSU with a much different look than we are used to seeing them.

The Sooners will try to come out of the Tigers’ den with a victory on Saturday night, as the game will be broadcast on ESPN and will kickoff at 6:00 p.m.

Lions reveal their Thanksgiving uniforms won’t be leftovers

The Detroit Lions will not be wearing leftover uniforms on Thanksgiving, going with one of the new-style combos against the Bears

In some recent years, the Detroit Lions have taken the field on Thanksgiving wearing throwback uniforms. In 2024, there will be no leftovers inside Ford Field.

The Lions announced they will wear the “blueberries” uniform package: the new-style blue jerseys with solid blue pants and socks and the silver helmet topping it off.

Thursday’s game against the Chicago Bears will be the fourth time the Lions have gone with the blueberries in 2024. Detroit won all three prior occasions, in Weeks 1, 8 and 11.
