Social media saddened after Nick Chubb suffers broken foot

Former Georgia Bulldog running back Nick Chubb suffers a disappointing injury.

Former Georgia Bulldog Nick Chubb has dealt with several injuries in his career. Earlier this season, Chubb finally suited up after 13 months of recovering from a torn ACL and MCL from a knee injury he suffered in Week 2 of the 2023 NFL season. This season, he was showing incredible resilience with the Cleveland Browns, and with his contract expiring this season, he could be playing himself for an extension.

Unfortunately, tragedy struck again. Nick Chubb left the game early against the Chiefs with a foot injury. Later he came back out on crutches, and the team medical staff revealed that he suffered a broken foot.

It’s the worst case scenario for Chubb, who will more than likely be out the remainder of the season. The injury could also mean the end of his Cleveland Browns career, too.

What did fans and media say on social media after Nick Chubb’s injury?

Former UGA DL flexes Georgia ‘G’ on transfer visit to Penn State

Former Georgia defensive lineman Bear Alexander flexes Georgia “G” tattoo on his visit to Penn State

Former Georgia Bulldogs defensive tackle Bear Alexander committed to the “G” in a permanent way when he got a Georgia “G” tattoo. Alexander recorded nine total tackles, including two sacks, in Georgia’s national title-winning season of 2022.

Alexander got the Georgia “G” tattoo sometime before winning a national championship with UGA. He transferred to the USC Trojans following his freshman season at Georgia.

Alexander posted 47 total tackles and 1 1/2 sacks during his first season at USC. He stuck with the Trojans for another season, but elected to transfer from USC after the Michigan game to maintain two years of eligibility and redshirt during his 2024 season.

Now, Alexander is considering transferring to one of USC’s Big Ten rivals, Penn State. He recently visited Penn State and flexed his Georgia “G” tattoo on his visit.

Alexander is ranked as the No. 3 defensive lineman and the No. 26 overall player in the transfer portal according to 247Sports.

We’ll provide updates throughout Alexander’s transfer recruitment.

Georgia no longer in the running for nation’s top transfer

UGA football is no longer in the mix to land the top player in the transfer portal, who is expected to commit to Ole Miss, What is next?

The Georgia Bulldogs are no longer considered a contender to land the nation’s top-ranked transfer portal prospect, Georgia Tech wide receiver Eric Singleton. Georgia was once named as the leader for Singleton, but times have changed.

Singleton did not include UGA when he named his top five schools. The Georgia Tech transfer puts Ole Miss, Texas, Auburn, Miami and LSU in his top schools. 247Sports projects Singleton will commit to the Ole Miss Rebels.

Singleton led Georgia Tech in receiving during the 2024 college football season with 56 catches for 754 yards and three touchdowns. Singleton added 131 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown on 21 carries.

Wide receiver remains a position of need for Georgia in the transfer portal. UGA is looking into several different receivers in the portal, including Kentucky receiver Dane Key. Georgia has also displayed interest in LSU receiver transfer CJ Daniels.

Another wide receiver target for Georgia is Idaho Vandals receiver Jordan Dwyer. Dwyer helped Idaho advance to the Football Championship Subdivision quarterfinals and hauled in 78 receptions for 1,182 yards and 12 touchdowns in an outstanding season.

Alabama transfer QB set to visit UGA

Georgia football will get a visit from Alabama Crimson Tide transfer QB

The Georgia Bulldogs might be getting a player from an SEC rival to transfer to UGA. Alabama transfer quarterback Dylan Lonergan will officially visit Georgia this week, according to Max Olson of ESPN.

Lonergan was a four-star recruit from Snellville, Georgia. He was ranked as the No. 13 quarterback in the class of 2023 and the Bulldogs recruited him, but he chose the Crimson Tide.

In 2024 with the Crimson Tide, he threw for 23 yards on five completions and ran for sixteen yards. However, with Alabama seemingly going with five-star Ty Thompson to replace Jalen Milroe, Lonergan decided to transfer.

He announced his decision after Alabama missed the College Football Playoff. Lonergan will has three seasons of eligibility remaining.

In his high school career, Lonergan passed for 7,851 yards, 71 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions while completing 63 percent of his pass attempts.

Georgia is pursuing other transfer quarterbacks, such as Cal QB Fernando Mendoza and Charlotte QB DeShawn Purdie. Whoever Georgia recruits will join a 2025 Georgia quarterback room with Gunner Stockton, Ryan Puglisi, Jaden Rashada, and four-star Ryan Montgomery.

Four Georgia football transfers are in the CFP

Four Georgia Bulldogs transfers are in the 2024 College Football Playoff.

Most notably, Georgia could face a pair of former Dawgs in the semifinals. Both of Penn State’s starting cornerbacks, A.J. Harris and Jalen Kimber, are former Georgia Bulldogs.

Sophomore A.J. Harris has blossomed for Penn State. Harris, Kimber and the Nittany Lions have the No. 16 passing defense in the country (178.5 yards per game).

Harris has 39 tackles, four pass deflections and one interception this season. He saw less and less playing time as the 2023 season went on, so the former five-star recruit elected to transfer to Penn State, and his decision has paid off.

Kimber, who played at Georgia from 2020-2021, is a former four-star recruit. Kimber transferred to Florida and played there from 2022-2023. Now, the senior cornerback has a career-best 26 tackles for Penn State. Kimber also has a pair of pass deflections.

Penn State’s opening round playoff game is at home against the SMU Mustangs on Saturday, Dec. 21 at noon ET. Of course, SMU has a former Georgia Bulldog on its roster: defensive lineman Jonathan Jefferson. Jefferson, a senior, has posted a career-high 14 tackles and two pass deflections with the Mustangs.

Lastly, Texas Longhorns defensive lineman Bill Norton began his career at Georgia from 2019-2022. Norton then transferred to Arizona. After one season with the Wildcats, Norton transferred to Texas. He has 11 tackles this season with the Longhorns and is 0-2 against Georgia. Texas could meet UGA for a third time in the national championship.

Georgia football’s best, worst PFF grades in 2024

Georgia football’s top five and bottom five PFF grades from 2024 for both offense and defense

It has been an up-and-down year for the Bulldogs, with stud performers and underachievers littered around the roster. Pro Football Focus released their grades after the SEC championship, meaning the 2024 grades are out for the Georgia Bulldogs.

Georgia QB Gunner Stockton’s insane high school highlights

Georgia QB Gunner Stockton had more high school rushing TDs than Nick Chubb and the most passing TDs in Georgia history

Georgia Bulldogs redshirt sophomore quarterback Gunner Stockton will be UGA’s starter moving forward with Carson Beck out. Stockton has just 51 career passing attempts in college, but he has a ton of experience from his time at Rabun County High School.

In fact, Stockton is one of the most prolific passers in Georgia high school history. Stockton has the most passing touchdowns (177) of any quarterback in Georgia high school history. Stockton is third all-time in passing with 13,652 passing yards. He trails only Georgia Tech quarterback Aaron Philo and former Clemson star Trevor Lawrence.

The Rabun County standout passed for over 400 yards five times in his high school career. He passed for an insane 55 touchdowns during his senior season, which is the second-most (tied) in Georgia high school history.

Stockton threw six touchdown passes in a game nine times in his high school career. Stockton, who was a four-year starter, threw at least 34 passing touchdowns in all four seasons with Rabun County.

Stockton is known as a dual-threat player. Only 25 players have more career rushing touchdowns in Georgia high school history than Stockton’s 77 rushing touchdowns.

The 6-foot-1, 215-pound quarterback showed toughness, accuracy and strong arm during his high school career.

Stockton is expected to make his first career start in the Sugar Bowl on Jan. 1 at 8:45 p.m. ET.

Georgia transfer QB target commits to SEC rival

Georgia football quarterback transfer target Jackson Arnold transfers to an SEC school.

When former Oklahoma Sooner quarterback Jackson Arnold entered the transfer portal, he received significant interest from top college football teams, including the Georgia Bulldogs. On3 mentioned three teams in particular to watch out for: the Georgia Bulldogs, the Auburn Tigers and the Mississippi State Bulldogs.

In the end, Arnold decided to transfer to the Auburn Tigers. Tigers coach Hugh Freeze will again try to develop a transfer portal quarterback .

Arnold may have more potential than Auburn’s most recent starting quarterback, Payton Thorne. Arnold, a former five-star quarterback, had one of the best high-school careers ever for Denton, Texas. He won the Landry Award (given to the best player in Northern Texas) and the Gatorade National Player of the Year in his senior year at John H. Guyer High School.

However, he hasn’t put it together in college. He has thrown for 1,421 yards, 12 touchdowns and three interceptions. He also took a bunch of sacks, but the Sooners dealt with numerous injuries on their offensive line. He showed flashes of his upside when he ran for 131 yards on 25 carries in Oklahoma’s 24-3 win over Alabama.

The Bulldogs remain on the hunt for a quarterback to replace Beck next year. They’ve talked to a few top names, such as Fernando Mendoza and Deshawn Purdie, but maybe sophomore Gunner Stockton could earn the job in the College Football Playoff or Beck could return.

The Georgia Bulldogs will play Arnold and the Auburn Tigers on Oct. 11 next year.

Former Georgia assistant makes big impact on CFP race

Former Georgia assistant cheering for the Georgia Bulldogs in the College Football Playoff

Former Georgia Bulldogs assistant Fran Brown has transformed the Syracuse Orange from an ACC afterthought into a legitimate ACC contender in just one season.

Brown turned a 6-7 team into a 9-3 team thanks to excellent transfers, including former Ohio State Buckeye quarterback Kyle McCord and former Bulldog wide receiver Jackson Meeks.

The Orange’s best victory came against No. 6 Miami, against which Syracuse came back from down 21-0 to win 42-38. Syracuse’s win was huge for the Clemson Tigers, who needed Miami to lose to make the ACC championship and to have a shot at making the College Football Playoff.

Clemson coach Dabo Swinney offered to honor Brown if Clemson wins the national title.

“Man, if we win the national championship, (Fran Brown) is gonna be riding in the car with me through downtown Clemson,” said Swinney.

“I’m very happy for (Dabo) and his team… but with that being said… Go Dawgs,” said Brown in a recent interview.

There’s a scenario in which Georgia and Clemson meet in the national and Bulldogs fans are surely hoping the rematch would be similar to the 34-3 Georgia blowout win on opening weekend.

Georgia 2025 recruiting class superlatives

UGA football signing class superlative for the 2025 recruiting cycle.

The Georgia Bulldogs are very active in the NCAA transfer portal, but Georgia still relies more heavily on traditional recruiting.

Georgia has already signed 25 commitment in the class of 2025. The Bulldogs have the nation’s No. 3 recruiting class, so Georgia will have an influx of freshman talent next year.

The early signing period is over, but what are our class of 2025 superlatives?

Biggest Star

This award goes to the highest-rated commit in the class, Elijah Griffin. As the nation’s No. 5 overall prospect and the No. 1 defensive lineman, Griffin is as elite as they come and  fulls a critical need in a position that is set to lose key pieces this offseason. Kirby Smart and company secured his commitment through the relentless effort to make it known that he was on top of the recruiting board for Georgia.

Most Loyal

Tight end Elyiss Williams was the longest tenured commitment in this class. He has been committed to Georgia since April 2023. Williams is built in the lab with his 6-foot-7 frame lining up at tight end and out at wide receiver.  With the likes of Miami and Florida State coming on hard late in the recruiting process he stood firm on his commitment to the Bulldogs.

Immediate Impact

Five-star wide receiver Tayln Taylor is the first five-star wide receiver to come to UGA since George Pickens in 2019. Expect Taylor to come in and be an immediate playmaker in the wide receiver room, which is set to lose key contributors. It will be hard for the coaching staff to keep Taylor off the field.

Most Underrated

Mason Short is a 6-foot-6, 310-pound offensive lineman from Evans, Georgia. Short is not being talked enough around, but he is someone who fits into the culture at Georgia. He plays guard and in his highlight tape he plays with aggression and is fundamentally sound. He could go into and compete for a starting role with Tate Ratledge likely leaving for the NFL draft.

Most Potential

Dennis Uzochukwu is someone that Kirby Smart recruited late in the process, but made sure he was coming to Athens. Uzochukwu is similar to Brodrieck Jones, who came into Georgia as a talented, raw offensive lineman prospect and ended up as a first round pick in the NFL draft.
