Notre Dame now has four commitments from the U.S. National Under-17 Team for the upcoming season. Before Friday, the Irish already had landed centers Logan Cooley and Rutger McGroarty as well as defenseman Tyler Duke. Now, the Irish have won over forward Maddox Fleming, who made the following announcement on social media:

Maddox, who hails from Rochester, Minnesota, played this past season with Shattuck-St. Mary, a boarding school rich in hockey history. In 42 games, he scored 38 of his 52 points on assists. Before that, he played his previous two seasons of prep hockey at Rochester Mayo High School, accumulating 83 points in 41 regular-season games and scoring a goal in one playoff game. In January, he, Duke and McGroarty helped the U.S. capture a silver medal at the Winter Youth Olympic Games in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Nearly a year ago, ISS Hockey released the following scouting report for Maddox:

The remaining players who have committed to Notre Dame beginning in the 2022-23 season are forward Jack Larrigan and defensemen Matthew Jovanovic and Michael Mastrodomenico.
