Guess who’s in the dream foursome of NBA star Kyle Kuzma (who picked up golf in the bubble)

Kuzma picked up the sticks when there was nothing better to do — and now it’s his obsession.

After getting drafted by the perennial heavyweight L.A. Lakers back in 2017 with the 27th pick, Kyle Kuzma has seen his share of highs in the league, along with a few low spots— including the 2020 NBA bubble.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the NBA decided to re-start its season in a “bubble” in Florida. No outsiders were allowed in and players weren’t allowed to leave the premises. On an episode of the “No Chill” podcast back in September of last year, Kuzma called the bubble “prison for athletes.”

One thing did come of his stay in the Sunshine State, however, a new hobby — the game of golf.

Kuzma picked up the sticks and started playing when there was nothing better to do, and now it’s his obsession.

The current Washington Wizard is featured in a new video on Skratch‘s YouTube channel where he plays golf at the historic D.C. area course, Langston Golf Course.

Along with his new video, he sat down with our Twilight 9 podcast to talk a little more about the game, his practice regimen, and his unique off-court style. He also revealed who would be in his dream foursome — two players you might expect and another that might surprise you.

Watch the video interview above.

Twilight 9 podcast: Cameron Smith wins birdie barrage in Maui, Sony Open and betting preview

Can Cameron Smith complete the Hawaiian sweep?

What a week to open up the 2022 calendar year.

Cameron Smith went toe-to-toe with World No. 1 Jon Rahm, traded blows, and came out on top. It was an unbelievable performance and maybe one that catapults Smith toward a few more wins this season.

Justin Thomas set the course record on Saturday after dismantling the Plantation Course with a 61 — then Rahm did it, too, just 90 minutes later.

The USGA announced incredible changes coming for the U.S. Women’s Open, including a purse increase from $5.5 million to $10 million. Overdue and wonderful news for the LPGA.

This week is the Sony Open, or otherwise known as the Charles Howell III invitational. The boys preview the event including a course overview, key stats, Data Golf information, and players to watch for the week.

Twilight 9 podcast: PGA Tour golf is back and it’s time to preview the Sentry Tournament of Champions

Xander Schauffele is due, but is this the beginning of a career year for Jordan Spieth?

The best players in the world are back to playing golf this week. Life is good.

The PGA Tour is out in Hawaii for the annual gathering of the past year’s champions and this time around 38 of the 39 winners from last season have made the trip to Kapalua. Rory McIlroy (Wells Fargo Championship) is the only one who stayed at home.

Andy and I have tons to discuss this week on the show, starting with Phil Mickelson reportedly winning the $40 million Player Impact Program.

Then, it’s time to jump into the Sentry Tournament of Champions. We go over the key stats for the week, as well as Data Golf information, betting odds, and more.

Finally, we outline our favorite bets for the week. A name to keep an eye on — Xander Schauffele. His last win came at this event three years ago and he loves it here.

Twilight 9 podcast: Who will win a major in 2022, Rory McIlroy, Xander Schauffele or Jordan Spieth?

Will we see more first-time winners, or will stars return to the winner’s circle?

We hope you all had a wonderful holiday! Now, it’s that final week after Christmas but before the New Year without professional golf. To pass the time, we have a new Twilight 9 episode for you.

This week on the show, Andy Nesbitt and Riley Hamel discuss what their favorite golf-related gifts were, and all the other things they did over the holiday break.

Then, we get into the 2022 majors. The venues are stacked: Augusta National, Southern Hills, The Country Club and the Old Course. We predict who’s going to win them, who’s going to contend, and much more.

Twilight 9 podcast: After watching the PNC Championship, do you think Tiger Woods will win on the PGA Tour again?

Team Woods, despite falling short on the leaderboard, put on a show in Orlando.

This week on the show, it’s once again all about Tiger Woods. Well, and Charlie. Team Woods was electric at the PNC Championship over the weekend, at one point making 11 straight birdies on Sunday at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club. They would finish second behind Team Daly by two shots, but there’s a lot to like about what we saw from Tiger in Orlando.

Will he win again? FTW’s Andy Nesbitt and I are on different sides of the conversation.

I have a new swing crush: Nelly Korda. Watching her swing a golf club over the weekend was incredible. And the video of her asking Tiger Woods for a picture was a top-3 moment from the weekend.

The PGA Tour announced it is allowing players to participate in the Saudi International in February. Andy and I discuss what that means for the world of golf.

Twilight 9 podcast: It’s Tiger Woods time, PNC Championship preview, QBE Shootout recap, and tons more

The 15-time major champion is making his return to golf this week in Orlando.

This week on the show, it’s all about Tiger Woods. The 15-time major champion is back, once again teeing it up with his son, Charlie, at the PNC Championship in Orlando. Joining the Woods’ in the field are Justin and Mike Thomas, the defending champions of the event.

Andy and I discuss our favorite Woods moments, how incredible his recovery has been, and what this week may mean for the Woods family.

Last week on the show, Andy picked Jason Kokrak and Kevin Na to win the QBE Shootout. Bang. This winner pick is the third of the year for Twilight 9 (I think) joining Justin Thomas at the Players, and Max Homa at the Genesis. We recap the Naples event, and what change they should make to create a must-watch product.

Twilight 9 podcast: Viktor Hovland wins the Hero, Collin Morikawa’s Sunday collapse, Tiger Woods is grinding, and more

Tiger Woods is back in full grind mode, and you love to see it.

This week on the newest episode of the Twilight 9 podcast, Andy Nesbitt and Riley Hamel discuss Viktor Hovland’s win at the Hero World Challenge. Hovland may have left with the trophy, but that was only possible because of Collin Morikawa’s 41 on the front nine.

Tiger Woods, the tournament host, was on the range almost every day last week. You love to see that. Is he just getting the swing back? Or is he preparing for something?

The fellas also preview the QBE Shootout, the last tournament on the men’s schedule for 2021.

Here are all the different ways you can listen to episode 70 of the Twilight 9 podcast.

Twilight 9 podcast: Tiger Woods speaks, The Match V recap, Hero World Challenge preview, and more

There need to be serious changes before these “matches” reach their full potential.

This week on the Twilight 9 podcast, there’s a lot for the boys to cover, starting off with Tiger Woods’ first interview and press conference since his car accident back in February.

We didn’t get an answer when Woods was asked about the accident, but he did talk about the severity of his injuries, what recovery was like, and his plan when he returns to golf.

In other news, co-host Andy Nesbitt played Harbour Town, and Pete Dye wasn’t nice to him.

The Match V was … interesting? The guys talk about what needs to change for the matches to be more entertaining. What doesn’t need to change? Phil Mickelson and Charles Barkley in the booth – they were phenomenal.

This week on the PGA Tour is the Hero World Challenge down in the Bahamas. It’s only a 20 man field, but it’s loaded. The guys preview the tournament, give out some players to watch out for, and of course, their locks of the week (because they went so well last time).

Twilight 9 podcast: Tiger Woods is swinging a golf club again, Talor Gooch and Collin Morikawa win, the Match V, and tons more

It’s so good to have Tiger Woods back in the mix.

For a week that doesn’t have a PGA Tour event, there’s a lot to talk about.

First things first, Talor Gooch grabbed his first PGA Tour win at the RSM Classic this weekend. His worst round of the week was a 67; he was absolutely dialed in.

Collin Morikawa chased down 54-hole leader Rory McIlroy to win the DP World Tour Championship, while also capturing the European Tour’s year-long Race to Dubai, the first American to do so. The guys discuss if he’s a Hall of Famer already.

Rory McIlroy, out of frustration, ripped his shirt after his final round in Dubai. The photo should be hung in the Louvre.

Jin Young Ko hit 63 consecutive greens on her way to winning the CME. 63!

The Match V is this week between Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka. We can guarantee one thing: It’s going to be cringy.

Finally, Tiger Woods dropped a three-second swing video and may have won the PIP with one tweet. He’s back. He’s going to play soon. Unbelievable.

Twilight 9 interview: Bubba Watson talks mental health struggles — ‘I didn’t want to write a golf book.’

Bubba Watson makes his Twilight 9 debut to talk new book, mental health battle, and more.

After Twilight 9 officially joined Golfweek earlier this week, it’s time for our first interview — 12-time PGA Tour winner and two-time Masters champion Bubba Watson.

Watson sits down to talk about his recently released book “Up and Down: Victories and Struggles in the course of life.”

The Florida native battled mental demons for several years, and now he’s here to tell his story in hopes of shedding more light on the ever-growing problem of anxiety, depression, and all other mental health issues that plague our world today.

The world of sports is changing. Athletes are taking time away to better their mental state with the ultimate goal of eventually returning as the best versions of themselves.

I asked Watson about that, and much more throughout our conversation. You can download the podcast episode here:
