Tulane at Charlotte odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Thursday’s Tulane at Charlotte odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Tulane Green Wave (6-2, 4-0 AAC) and Charlotte 49ers (3-5, 2-2) meet Thursday at Jerry Richardson Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET (ESPN). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s college football odds around the Tulane vs. Charlotte odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Green Wave became bowl eligible Saturday with a 45-37 road victory at North Texas, while Tulane covered as 7-point favorite. It also remained unbeaten in conference play, 1 of 3 AAC teams without a blemish in league play.

Tulane’s offense has been on fire lately, going for 41 or more points in 4 of the past 5 games, including a 71-20 win at UAB on Oct. 5 as a 19.5-point favorite. QB Darian Mensah has completed 64.2% of his passes for 1,583 yards, 14 TDs and 3 INTs in 8 games, while RB Makhi Hughes is good for 939 rushing yards and 9 TDs.

The 49ers were sitting at 3-3 SU after Week 6, but Charlotte has lost back-to-back games at Navy and at Memphis, scoring 22.5 points per game while allowing 42.0 PPG in those pair of losses. The Over has cashed in 3 in a row, and 6 of the past 7, for Charlotte.

Tulane at Charlotte picks and predictions

Prediction

Tulane 48, Charlotte 27

Moneyline

Tulane (-650) will cost you 6 1/2 times your potential return, and that’s just way too much risk for not nearly enough reward. The Green Wave wouldn’t even be a recommended play as part of a multi-team parlay, as including Tulane sucks all of the value out of your ticket.

AVOID.

Against the spread

Roll with TULANE -14.5 (-110) laying the points, as the Green Wave have a balanced offensive attack that the leaky Charlotte +14.5 (-110) is going to have a very difficult time containing.

The Green Wave are good for 41 or more points in 4 of their 5 games during the current win streak.

The 49ers defense has allowed 30 or more points in 5 of its 8 games, while Charlotte has allowed 415.1 total yards, 230.8 passing yards, 184.4 rushing yards and 34.3 points per game allowed.

Over/Under

OVER 56.5 (-110) is easily the best play on the board in this battle.

The Over has cashed in 3 straight games for Charlotte, while cashing at a 6-1 clip in the past 7 outings.

For Tulane, the Over has cashed at a 5-2 pace in the past 7 outings, while going 4-0 in 4 games on the road, too.

Go Over, and go rather aggressively.

The Tulane Green Wave (5-2, 3-0 AAC) visit the North Texas Mean Green (5-2, 2-1) Saturday. Kickoff from DATCU Stadium is scheduled for noon ET (ESPN2). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s college football odds around the Tulane vs. North Texas odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Tulane has won 4 games in a row after taking down Rice 24-10 Oct. 19 while failing to cover as a 22.5-point home favorite. QB Darian Mensah went 12 of 25 for 152 yards with a TD while RB Makhi Hughes carried the ball 27 times for 140 yards and a TD.

North Texas snapped a 3-game winning streak with a 52-44 loss against Memphis Oct. 19 while covering as an 11-point road underdog. QB Chandler Morris went 36 of 61 for 445 yards with 3 TDs and an INT while rushing for 71 yards and a TD on 10 carries .

Tulane at North Texas picks and predictions

Prediction

Tulane 48, North Texas 37

Moneyline

PASS.

There is no value on Tulane (-300) to win Saturday.

Against the spread

BET TULANE -7.5 (-110).

Even with the home crowd on its side, North Texas does not have an adequate defense to stop the Green Wave. It has allowed 37 or more points in 3 of its last 5, including back-to-back games, and faces a Tulane program that has scored 41 or more points in 3 of its last 4.

Over/Under

BET OVER 70.5 (-105).

Tulane has scored 41 or more points in 3 of its last 4 games, including 71 the last time it played on the road. North Texas has scored 41 or more points in each of its last 4 games while allowing 37 or more points in 2 straight. It has hit the Over in 6 of its 7 games. Tulane at Oklahoma odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Tulane at Oklahoma odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The No. 13 Oklahoma Sooners (2-0) welcome the Tulane Green Wave (1-1) to Memorial Stadium in Norman Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET (ESPN). Below, we analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s college football odds around the Tulane vs. Oklahoma odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Tulane’s season has been a bit of a rollercoaster so far. After crushing Southeast Louisiana 52-0, they had a tough 34-27 loss to Kansas State last week. The Green Wave led 20-10 at halftime and were up 27-20 in the 4th, but gave up 14 unanswered points and lost. Tulane outgained Kansas State 491-396, but turnovers and a late fumble return cost them the game.

Oklahoma is 2-0 but has had a mixed start to the season. They cruised to a 51-3 win over Temple in Week 1, but last week’s 16-12 win over Houston was much closer than expected. Oklahoma was outgained 318-249 yards. QB Jackson Arnold threw for 174 yards and 2 TD. The defense has been solid,  but the offense needs to find more consistency as tougher games loom.

Oklahoma is No. 13 in the US LBM Coaches Poll, conducted by the American Football Coaches Association and USA TODAY Sports

Tulane at Oklahoma picks and predictions

Prediction

Oklahoma 24, Tulane 14

Moneyline

PASS.

The Sooners will pull this game out, but it’ll be a tight one, which is why I’m going to look to the Green Wave getting the points in this game.

Against the spread

BET TULANE +13.5 (-114).

After a tough miss on a big win against Kansas State, the Green Wave are coming in fired up. They played well last week, and if they can move past that loss, they could give Oklahoma a real challenge. The Sooners didn’t look great against Houston and will need to improve to secure a win.

Tulane has been on a roll lately, winning 21 of their last 26 games and covering the spread in 5 of its last 6 road games in September. They’ve also been strong against non-conference teams, winning the 1st half in 6 of their last 7 matchups and the 1st quarter in 4 of their last 5 games. Given their recent performance and ability to handle tough road games, Tulane looks like a solid bet to cover the spread.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 46.5 (-110).

Tulane’s road openers have hit the Under in 7 of its last 8, and they’ve been under in 7 of its last 10 games. Oklahoma has been on the Under trend too, with both of their games this season going below the total points line. Plus, 6 of the Sooners last 7 home games against non-conference teams have stayed Under. With these patterns, taking the Under seems like a smart move.

Kansas State at Tulane odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Kansas State at Tulane odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Tulane Green Wave (1-0) welcome the No. 16 Kansas State Wildcats (1-0) to Yulman Stadium Saturday. Kickoff is set for noon ET (ESPN). Below, we analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Kansas State vs. Tulane odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Kansas State is coming off a 41-6 thrashing of the Tennessee-Martin Skyhawks Saturday in its season opener. The Wildcats failed to cover a 37-point spread. RB DJ Giddens had 124 rushing yards on 13 attempts against UT-Martin.

The Green Wave, who play in the American Athletic Conference, throttled the Southeastern Louisiana Lions 52-0 in Week 1, covering as a 38-point favorite. Tulane was led by QB Darian Mensah, who hit 10-of-12 passes for 205 yards and 2 TDs. The Green Wave had a strong season a year ago, finishing 11-3 with a perfect AAC record (8-0).

Kansas State at Tulane picks and predictions

Prediction

Kansas State 31, Tulane 20

Moneyline

PASS.

The Wildcats have a dynamic offense and should be able to go on the road and come out on top. But they are far too expensive to take. The Green Wave didn’t showcase too much despite a dominant Week 1 performance.

Don’t expect them to be able to beat the Big 12 side either.

Against the spread

BET KANSAS STATE -9.5 (-118).

Tulane didn’t cover often at home last season, especially as a favorite, and finished 5-9 ATS in 2023. They’ll be playing a far more competent side in Kansas State.

Tulane played a top-25 side twice last season and lost 27-30 in Week 2 to Ole Miss and 26-14 to SMU in the AAC Championship Game. The Green Wave may be a top AAC side, but they are going to struggle against an offense like the Wildcats.

Take KANSAS STATE -9.5 (-118).

Over/Under

BET OVER 47.5 (-110).

The Green Wave scored at least 20 points in their first 8 games of last season, and they put up 20 on Ole Miss as that game totaled 57 points. Tulane also had a great Week 1 showing, tallying 52 and scoring a TD in every quarter.

Kansas State has an aggressive offense as well and scored double figures in 3 of 4 quarters against UT-Martin. The Wildcats should be able to unlock their quarterbacks as well with the threat of Giddens, who had over 1,200 rushing yards last season.

Neither team hit the Over in Week 1, but both scored at least 40. Take OVER 47.5 (-110) as the electric offenses should stay hot.

The Tulane Green Wave (13-15, 4-12 AAC) visit the No. 24 South Florida Bulls (22-5, 15-1) Tuesday. Tip-off from Yuengling Center is set for 7 p.m. ET (ESPN+). Below, we analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Tulane vs. South Florida odds, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and best bets.

Tulane lost 79-73 to the Florida Atlantic Owls Saturday, covering as a 17-point road underdog. Tulane shot only 15.8% from deep and was outrebounded 42-32. The Green Wave have lost 6 consecutive games and are 1-5 against the spread (ATS) during that span.

South Florida beat the Charlotte 49ers 76-61 Saturday while covering as a 4.5-point road underdog. The Bulls shot 40% from deep and outrebounded Charlotte 42-28 in winning its 14th consecutive game.

Tulane at South Florida picks and predictions

Prediction

South Florida 77, Tulane 69

Moneyline

PASS.

USF (-315) should win, but the Bulls are not worth the risk of betting on as such heavy favorites. Bet on the spread and/or total.

Against the spread

LEAN SOUTH FLORIDA -7.5 (-105).

South Florida has covered the spread in back-to-back outings and is 8-1-1 in its last 10 games while Tulane is only 3-7 ATS in its last 10 outings. The Bulls have also been the better team ATS this season as they are 18-6-3 while the Green Wave are 11-15-1.

This is only a lean because Tulane has been good competition for USF over the years, winning 6 of the last 10 meetings and going 7-3 ATS.

Play our free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under

LEAN UNDER 156.5 (-110).

The Under has hit in 3 of Tulane’s last 4 overall and has hit in 3 of its last 4 road games. For South Florida, the Under 4-2 in its last 6 games and is 18-9 for the Bulls this season. The Under has also hit in 4 of the last 5 Tulane-USF meetings.

This is only a lean because the Over has been safer for the Green Wave this season.

Tulane at Rice odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Tulane at Rice odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Tulane Green Wave (6-1, 3-0 AAC) and Rice Owls (4-3, 2-1) meet Saturday at Rice Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. ET (ESPN2). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Tulane vs. Rice odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Green Wave have rattled off 5 straight wins since a lone setback at Ole Miss back on Sept. 9. However, Tulane has managed to cover just once in the past 4 outings, although it is 2-0 against the spread (ATS) on the road this season.

Rice gave the Tulsa Golden Hurricane a 42-10 shellacking in their place last week, and it is a healthy 5-2 ATS in 7 games overall. As an underdog, Rice is 2-0 ATS, with an outright win as a 7-point ‘dog against Houston on Sept. 9. The Over is on a 5-1 run for the Owls, too.

Tulane is No. 23 in the US LBM Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

  • Over/Under (O/U): 55 (O: -105 | U: -115)

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3012″ ]

Tulane at Rice picks and predictions

Prediction

Tulane 34, Rice 29

Moneyline

Tulane (-400) will cost you 4 times your potential return, and that’s just too much risk, especially on the road in a conference game. Rice (+300) has 3 losses overall, but it is capable of hanging in a shootout with plenty of offensive weapons.

AVOID, and look to the spread instead.

Against the spread

RICE +10 (-110) catching double digits is a lot. Take advantage.

While Tulane -10 (-110) is 6-1 straight up (SU), it has covered just twice in the past 6 games overall, and it is 0-3 ATS in 3 games as a double-digit favorite this season.

For Rice, it does have an inexplicable home loss to UConn. However, it has covered 3 of 4 games overall at home.

Over/Under

OVER 55 (-105) may be the best play on the board.

The Over has connected in 5 of the past 6 games for Rice, and it’s the pass game which drives the offense. The well-traveled QB JT Daniels has helped Rice rank 12th in passing yards per game (319.9), while racking up 34.0 PPG. While Tulane is very good against the run, it ranks 118th against the pass (263.1 yards per game), which is Rice’s strength. That’s what will keep the Owls in this high-scoring game.

North Texas at Tulane odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s North Texas at Tulane odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The North Texas Mean Green (3-3, 1-1 AAC) and Tulane Green Wave (5-1, 2-0) meet Saturday at Yulman Stadium in New Orleans. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET (ESPN2). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the North Texas vs. Tulane odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Mean Green rolled up a 45-14 victory against Temple in Denton last weekend, easily covering a 7.5-point spread as the Under (65.5) cashed. UNT has covered in consecutive games for the 1st time this season, while also cashing the Under in back-to-back games. North Texas has scored 39 or more points in 4 of the past 5 games.

The Green Wave returns to the Top 25 rankings after their 31-21 win at Memphis last Friday, cashing as 4-point favorites. The Under (54.5) narrowly cashed in that game, and the total has gone low in 5 straight outings for Tulane despite the fact Tulane has scored 31 or more points in each of the past 3 games.

North Texas at Tulane picks and predictions

Prediction

Tulane 40, North Texas 29

Moneyline

Tulane (-1400) will cost you 14 times your potential return, or just $7.14 of profit for every $100 risked. That’s a ridiculous amount of risk for not nearly enough reward, even when tucking this into a multi-team parlay.

AVOID.

Against the spread

NORTH TEXAS +20.5 (-115) catching nearly 3 TDs is quite a bit of points.

The Mean Green have cashed 3 of the past 4 games against the spread, and this is an offense which can handle itself with aplomb. If UNT is to get involved in a shootout, it has the offensive weapons to be successful.

The Green Wave also have plenty of weapons like QB Michael Pratt, who has completed 70.7% of his passes for 927 yards, 9 TD and 1 INT, while running for 121 yards and 2 TD, while WR Lawrence Keys III and RB Makhi Hughes are also offensive studs. This is going to be a fun game.

Over/Under

OVER 63.5 (-105) is a really big number, but this is going to be a contest resembling a video game, with plenty of splash plays and scores.

While Tulane has cashed the Under in 5 in a row, it will have a difficult time holding down a prolific UNT offense. Unfortunately for the Mean Green, defense isn’t exactly a hallmark, and Tulane should have its way at times. The scoreboard operator at Yulman Stadium better limber up, because he/she is going to be busy.

Tulane at Memphis odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Tulane at Memphis odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Tulane Green Wave (4-1, 1-0 AAC) and the Memphis Tigers (4-1, 1-0) meet Friday night at Simmons Bank Liberty Bowl in Memphis for an American Athletic Conference battle. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (ESPN). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Tulane vs. Memphis odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Since Tulane was on the short end of a 37-20 loss at home against Ole Miss on Sept. 9, the Green Wave have bounced back with 3 straight wins against Southern Miss, Nicholls and UAB. Tulane topped UAB 35-23 last time out on Sept. 30, but it failed to cover the 22.5-point number, and it is just 1-3 ATS in the past 4 games overall.

Tulane’s defense has been solid lately, allowing a total of just 33 points in the past 3 outings, while the Under has hit in 4 straight contests.

The Tigers lost in a neutral-site game against Mizzou on Sept. 23, just missing the cover on a 6.5-point spread in a 34-27 loss. It bounced back with a 35-32 win over Boise State, pushing as 3-point favorites at most shops.

Opposite of Tulane, Memphis has cashed the Over in 3 straight games, scoring 27 or more points, while allowing 24 or more points, with an average of 30.0 PPG during the span.

Tulane at Memphis picks and predictions

Prediction

Tulane 32, Memphis 29

Moneyline

Tulane (-200) is a strong play to win straight up, especially if you don’t want to fiddle around with points in a potentially close game, but it’s hard to justify spending 2 times what you can win.

The Green Wave has won 3 of 4 games outright against non-Power 5 teams, scoring 35 or more points in each of those contests.

There is a risk, however, as the home team has won each of the past 6 meetings outright. Memphis (+165) is also 3-1 SU in the past 4 games as a home underdog.

PASS and look to the spread or total.

Against the spread

MEMPHIS +4.5 (+110) is a very good play, especially since the home side has fared so well in the series over the past half decade.

Tulane -4.5 (-110) has covered 3 straight in the series, while going 6-2 ATS in the past 8 in the series. Still, the Tigers are also a tough team to beat at home, and it wouldn’t be shocking to see this game decided by 3 or fewer points.

Over/Under

OVER 54.5 (-110) is the lean. The total has gone high in 3 straight games for Memphis, while going 4-1 in 5 games overall this season.

For Tulane, the Under has cashed in 4 in a row, but it’s not because of a lack of offense. The Green Wave has scored 35 or more points in 3 of 5 games this season. And the Over is 3-1 in the past 4 meetings in this series, too, while cashing in 3 straight, and 4 of the past 5, played at the Liberty Bowl.

Tulane at Southern Miss odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Tulane at Southern Miss odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Southern Miss Golden Eagles (1-1) welcome the Tulane Green Wave (1-1) to M.M. Roberts Stadium Saturday. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. ET (ESPNU). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Tulane vs. Southern Miss odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Southern Miss lost 66-13 to current-No. 3 Florida State as a 31-point underdog last Saturday as it failed to build off a 40-14 season-opening victory over Alcorn State 40-14 as a 24-point favorite on Sept. 2.

The Golden Eagles are led by QB Billy Wiles, who has 421 yards and 3 touchdowns on the season. Southern Miss has yet to open conference play in the Sun Belt as it continues its quest to build on a 7-6 season last year.

Tulane, which plays in the American Athletic Conference, also failed to build on a season-opening victory by losing in Week 2. The Green Wave were toppled 37-20 by No. 19 Ole Miss as a 13.5-point underdog last Saturday and beat the South Alabama Jaguars 37-17 on Sept. 2, covering as a 6.5-point favorite.

Tulane QB Michael Pratt is a game-time decision and missed the Green Wave’s loss to Ole Miss. He has 4 touchdowns and 294 passing yards on the season. QB Kai Horton will start a 2nd straight game if Pratt is forced to miss the outing.

Tulane at Southern Miss picks and predictions

Prediction

Tulane 31, Southern Miss 17

Moneyline

PASS.

Tulane (-500) should pick up the victory Saturday but there’s no value on a -500 moneyline wager.

Against the spread

BET TULANE -13 (-110).

The Green Wave came up short last week, but they had a 17-10 lead at half and were tied going into the 4th quarter against a ranked opponent. While Horton didn’t have a great game, he showed he can competently fill in for Pratt. Tulane went 5-0 ATS on the road last year and was one of just 4 teams to have 4-plus road games last season and cover all of them.

Southern Miss was exposed against FSU, and while Florida State is superior to Tulane, the Golden Eagles have too many holes defensively to limit the Green Wave. They allowed 3 Seminoles to average more than 10 yards per carry in the loss — Tulane’s offense should erupt and cover here.

Back TULANE -13 (-110).

Over/Under

LEAN UNDER 49.5 (-110).

Southern Miss has opened the season 2-0 to the Over but its offense was limited to 13 points against a quality opponent, which Tulane is. The Green Wave limited Ole Miss to 10 points in the first and South Alabama to 17 for the whole game. They should be able to hold Southern Miss to 20 or fewer points.

Tulane, without Pratt, scored just 20 on Ole Miss. With Pratt’s status up in the air, taking fewer points is the safer wager here. If Pratt plays — and it might be smart to wait here until that is decided — I would ultimately pass as he’s a game-changing threat for the Green Wave.
