Bills wide receiver Trent Sherfield has sustained an ankle injury against the Broncos in the Week 10 matchup between the two teams.

At the two-minute warning of the first half, Sherfield left the field early prior to halftime.

Sherfield, a blocking-heavy receiver, has yet to be targeted in the passing game thus far against the Broncos. In nine games, Sherfield has seven catches for 53 yards in 2023.

Trent Sherfield calls signing with Bills ‘huge blessing’

Trent Sherfield calls signing with #Bills ‘huge blessing’

Trent Sherfield has quickly become an asset in the Buffalo Bills offense. It took little time.

This spring, the team and receiver Stefon Diggs were at odds. That’s all water under the bridge now, but at the time, Sherfield took advantage of it.

After signing a one-year deal in Buffalo, Sherfield saw extended snaps with the starting offense in practice with Diggs out. In the spring, quarterback Josh Allen quickly took notice of him.

“I’ve loved what I’ve seen from Trent so far; the dude works extremely hard,” Allen said in July. “He’s one of the hardest-working guys on the team. Doesn’t complain about anything. He’s rolling right now.”

Even after a career-best season in 2022 with the Miami Dolphins, Sherfield might be gearing up to do better than the 30 catches and 417 yards he had. Even with Diggs returning and easing things over with the team, Sherfield is still seeing snaps with the first-team Bills offense.

All in all, life has come fast for Sherfield.

“It’s all kind of been a blur for me. I was with Miami just a couple of months ago,” Sherfield said. “Coming here has been a huge blessing for me and my family.”
