Predicting Alabama’s full 2023 recruiting class

Today, Roll Tide Wire makes some early predicitions for Alabama’s 2023 recruiting class and how it will shape out.

Every Alabama fan will agree that [autotag]Nick Saban[/autotag] is arguably one of the best coaches and recruiters of all time. However, the same can be said for the rest of the coaching staff. Defensive coordinator [autotag]Pete Golding[/autotag], wide receivers coach Holmon Wiggins, and cornerbacks coach Travaris Robinson have all been known for their recruiting prowess over the years.

This past season, the Crimson Tide managed to bring in a stellar recruiting class. There has been just one recruiting class that ranked outside the top ten since Saban’s first year in Tuscaloosa in 2007. That class finished ranked No. 12 according to 247Sports’ recruiting rankings.

Now, the coaching staff is looking to assemble another outstanding recruiting class. With a surplus of talent across the state of Alabama and innumerable talent in other parts of the country, we fully expect this class to be among the best.

Today, Roll Tide Wire will make some early predictions for the Crimson Tide’s 2023 recruiting class. Read along to learn more about the possible future of the Alabama football program.

Five-star CB Jahlil Hurley is ‘locked in’ with Alabama

Five-star CB Jahlil Hurley is ‘locked in’ with the Crimson Tide!

Five-star cornerback Jahlil Hurley committed to [autotag]Nick Saban[/autotag] and Alabama back in February, but many thought that the talented Hurley might be wavering from his commitment to the Tide after he took a visit to in-state rival Auburn.

On Sunday afternoon, while speaking with On3, Hurley cleared up the air on the status of his recruitment, saying, “I’m locked in, not going anywhere.”

Hurley would go on to say he plans to enroll early with the Tide.

“I will be going there next December; I’m done. … After I came back from the visit, I just had a long talk with my coach and people around me. They know what’s best for me too, and I made the the best decision for me.”

Hurley would make it clear that his relationship and the coaching he would receive with from head coach Nick Saban and defensive back coach Travaris Robinson were major factors.

“I get coached by Saban, the GOAT, T’Rob, GOAT No. 2. He’s a cornerback specialist. And Alabama is great program, great city to live in, great fan base.”

Earlier this month Hurley had a chance to camp with Alabama and apparently received some great coaching.

“It was a really good moment for me, learned a bunch of new techniques that I can put into my game. I can work on it now, and it’ll be even better when I get on campus. … “It was amazing, honestly. Coach Saban knows a lot and has been in the game for a long time. He has the tools to get me to the next level, and that’s where I want to be.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to monitor Jahil Hurley’s recruitment leading up to signing day.

Travaris Robinson hired from Miami to coach defensive backs for Alabama

Alabama has hired Travaris Robinson from Miami as their new secondary coach.

The Crimson Tide have found their man to replace former secondary coach Jay Valai after Valai departed to take on a new role as co-defensive coordinator for the Oklahoma Sooners.

Travaris Robinson, the former South Carolina Gamecocks defensive coordinator, and most recently the defensive backs coach for the Miami Hurricanes, has officially been announced as the new secondary coach for Alabama after just a three-week-long search.

Robinson has spent considerable time in the Southeastern Conference, particularly with the South Carolina Gamecocks as their defensive coordinator from 2016 until 2020.

Last season he coached defensive backs under Manny Diaz, who was recently replaced with Mario Cristobal.
