The Rockets awkwardly wished Russell Westbrook a happy birthday after he reportedly requested a trade

Well, this just got awkward.

Man, the Houston Rockets are really having the worst two-week offseason possible. They’re going out sad and you hate to see it.

First, reports surfaced on Wednesday that Russell Westbrook and James Harden were concerned about the direction of the franchise with Daryl Morey and Mike D’Antoni out the door, per ESPN’s Tim McMahon and Adrian Wojnarowksi.

Then, a few hours later, Westbrook reportedly put the nail in the coffin. He requested a trade from the team, per The Athletic’s Shams Charania. And then Charania proceeded to drop a scathing report about how there’s discord all throughout the team.

So, of course, on Thursday you’d expect damage control to kick in. You know how that goes. We normally get denials from all directions. Players, teams, coaches, all that.

But here? We just got the Rockets wishing a happy birthday to Russ.

This is absolutely hilarious.

Now, to be fair, it is Westbrook’s birthday. He just turned 32 years old. But, instead of a birthday wish from his team, he seems to want to get out of town. And that’s what makes this tweet so wild.

Think of it like this. Imagine someone is trying to break up with you. They tell you and all of your mutual friends. All that’s left is for you to accept it and move on. But instead of updating your relationship status on Facebook, you wish them a happy birthday.

HILARIOUS. And mad awkward. NBA fans thought so too.

Don’t ever let anyone tell you the NBA isn’t entertaining. Because this is entertainment in its purest form.

David Njoku shoots down latest report he wants out of Cleveland

Njoku caught 1 pass for 7 yards in the Browns Week 6 loss

Does David Njoku still want to be traded away from the Cleveland Browns? The Browns tight end, who rescinded an earlier trade request, denied a new report that he now wants out again.

According to a Monday report from Mary Kay Cabot of cleveland.com, Njoku once again wants to be traded away from the Browns before the Nov. 3rd trade deadline. It comes a day after Njoku caught one of his three targets in the 38-7 loss to the Steelers, gaining just seven yards.

But Njoku jumped on Twitter and quickly shot down the report, saying he has not said anything of the sort to Cabot.

It’s important to note Cabot did not specifically cite Njoku as her source for the report. But Njoku’s response is not consistent with someone who is anxious about being dealt, either.

Report: Washington has not received trade inquiries for QB Dwayne Haskins

Reports that Washington has received interest in teams looking to trade for Haskins is said to be untrue.

[jwplayer UTBPGNYc-ThvAeFxT]

There have been a rash or rumors in Washington that second-year QB Dwayne Haskins is being involved in trade talks with the team, and some including that multiple teams have inquired about the former first-round pick who was benched last week.

According to ESPN’s John Keim, none of these rumors are true, and it is also not accurate to say that Haskins has asked for a trade.

It’s understandable to have trade rumors start to bubble up with the trade deadline less than three weeks away now. However, the way that Washington handled the entire situation with Haskins was pretty poor when it comes to keeping his potential trade value high. As a high draft pick, Washington not only benched him after 11 total starts, but they shamed him on his way to the inactive list, harping on his dedication and work ethic along the way and making it so nobody would come calling for him.

It’s unclear if Washington will ever pit Haskins back in the lineup or not, but it seems reasonable that he’d have to be released by the team before plying for another team.

David Njoku rescinds his trade request from the Browns

The trade request earlier this summer came almost immediately after Njoku changed representation to Drew Rosenhaus

Browns tight end David Njoku has backed away from his request for the team to trade him prior to the 2020 NFL season.

According to NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport, Njoku and his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, have rescinded their request with the Browns. Rapoport cites the positive talks between Njoku and new GM Andrew Berry and others on the team as the reason Rosenhaus, who was attributed by Rapoport, and Njoku have changed course.

The trade request earlier this summer came almost immediately after Njoku changed representation to Rosenhaus. Prior to that, Njoku was “ready to roll” under new head coach Kevin Stefanski in the Browns base two-TE offense. Stefanski also publicly praised the opportunity for Njoku to thrive in 2020 in Cleveland.

Njoku tweeted out his own commitment to being the best he can be in Cleveland.

The young TE still has two years remaining on his rookie contract. The Browns picked up the fifth-year option on his contract earlier this offseason.

Jets’ Jamal Adams requests permission to seek trade

New York Jets Pro Bowl safety Jamal Adams has officially requested a trade out of New York. This sends flares to Dallas to possibly acquire.

The Jamal-Adams-to-the-Dallas-Cowboys fire has once again been ignited.

What started as a box of matches during the 2019 season, has appeared ready to engulf the Jets ever since and now looks destined to become a reality, the Pro-Bowl safety has officially requested a trade out of New York, as first reported by ESPN’s Rich Cimini.

Cowboys fans have been dreaming of a scenario to acquire Adams and now it looks like it could finally be a reality. Adams took to social media via Instagram with response to someone’s comment.

According to NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport, The Jets have gone on record to say that a contract extension for Adams is in their immediate plans but contrary to that report, Adams has requested to seek a trade but the Jets still have to grant him just that.

According to Dallas Morning News writer Calvin Watkins, Adams has certain teams he would want to be traded to and would not necessarily need a contract extension right away.

It’s assumed by many his hometown Cowboys are on any short list for the Texas native. The Cowboys sought to work out a trade for Adams last season but were rebuffed of their offer of a first-round pick plus a player, rumored to be CB Anthony Brown. The Jets asked for a first rounder, second rounder and another second rounder.

The 2017 draft’s sixth-overall selection is entering his fourth year on his rookie contract and would be owed $7.1 million this year and has a fifth-year option worth $9.9 million. He currently was seeking a big pay day from the Jets but it seems like the relationship with the organization has taken a turn for the worst.

The asking price for the two time Pro Bowler is yet unknown but from a value standpoint the Jets would more than likely look for a first round pick, and that’s just the beginning.

The Cowboys addressed their safety need by signing Ha Ha Clinton Dix in the off-season to pair along side Xavier Woods but clearly the addition of a Jamal Adams for the 2020 Dallas Cowboys would turn a position of need into a strength for their immediate future.
