Tony Kemp made a stellar double play for the A’s while rocking Hey Arnold! cleats

Tony Kemp! Hey Arnold! Baseball!

Oakland A’s second baseman made one of the best plays of the night during a Tuesday road game against the St. Louis Cardinals, and he did so while rocking an awesome pair of cleats.

On the play, Kemp ran for the ball as it was soaring into his zone of the diamond and made the diving catch before throwing out a Cardinals runner that was heading to third base.

It was an awesome snag-and-throw from Kemp, but it was made even cooler by his choice of shoes.

Kemp wore a customized pair of Nike cleats that featured Hey Arnold! characters on them, and they helped him pull off the awesome double play for the A’s.

Kemp also sported baseball bats with Hey Arnold! and Rocket Power theming, keeping the Nickelodeon nostalgia prevalent in his gear.

Kemp might not want to toss these cleats anytime soon, as they’re surely  good luck after the A’s star pulled off such an impressive double play like this. Maybe we’ll see cleats these again on the diamond sometime soon.

Oakland A’s 2B Tony Kemp took flight to make one of the coolest catches of the MLB season

What a catch. And what a beautiful landing.

The Oakland A’s have a had long and lonely season this year and that season will shortly come to an end with a last place finish in the American League West.

Does that mean their players will taking it easy down this finally stretch? Absolutely not, if you saw what happened in their game against the Los Angeles Angels.

Second baseman Tony Kemp once again showed off his great glove in the field as he made a spectacular diving catch on a ball hit to short right. He seemed to take flight on this thing before nailing the landing:

At first I thought about whether he really needed to dive for that but the more I watched it the more I loved that he dove for that ball.

What a catch.

MLB fans loved it, too.

MLB fans had jokes after the Athletics’ Tony Kemp made an extremely unnecessary diving catch

You didn’t have to dive whatsoever, Tony!

Remember those times in Little League where you knew you could probably catch a ball standing up but dove anyway to make it look “cool”? Even if you didn’t have to, it felt incredibly satisfying to pull off at the moment in front of all your friends, right?

We’ve all been there! You know, trying to be cool.

As the Athletics took on the White Sox (-1.5) on Sunday afternoon, that’s precisely what A’s outfielder Tony Kemp seemed to want to accomplish. (Kemp, of course, is no stranger to the incredible catch.)

After Chicago’s Eloy JimĂ©nez launched a soft shot to left field, Kemp took off to make the play and dove at the last moment. And really, as replays showed — he probably could’ve simply jogged through the catch on a routine fly-out:

I mean, come on! Kemp literally has the ball in his glove and only then fully extends and flips as if that whole routine was necessary to finish the play. Well, at least he got the out, and it still looked … kind of cool?

The Athletics’ Tony Kemp was delightfully shocked by his own sensational diving catch

Catch AND reaction of the year!

Tony Kemp made one of the best catches baseball has seen this season and even he couldn’t believe it!

During Tuesday’s Oakland Athletics game against the Detroit Tigers, Kemp went full extension on this catch to help end the eighth inning and preserve the away team’s 3-0 lead. With Jeimer Candelario up to bat and a man on first base, Kemp made a huge Superman dive to catch this bullet of a line drive at second.

Not only was Kemp’s catch super human, his absolutely delighted reaction at making such an unbelievable catch makes this highlight a perfect one to watch over and over again.

No wonder Kemp couldn’t believe he did that because seriously, that was awesome! What a catch from Kemp here and what a reaction too.
