Iowa Hawkeyes offer star Kansas guard, TJ Williams

Talented class of 2024 combo guard TJ Williams picked up an offer from the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Iowa traveled to the Air Capital of the World for its latest offer in the 2024 class, extending an offer to talented guard TJ Williams out of Wichita Heights in Kansas. It’s fitting because TJ Williams is more than capable of taking flight to go attack the rim or to send back opponents’ shot attempts.

The 6-foot-4, 175 pound guard averaged 16.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.2 blocks per game with Wichita Heights last season per MaxPreps. He led Heights all the way to the 6A state championship game against Blue Valley Northwest.

A consensus three-star recruit across 247Sports, ESPN and On3, Williams also holds offers from schools such as Missouri, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Wichita State, SMU and North Texas.

247Sports ranks Williams as the nation’s No. 34 small forward and the No. 2 player from Kansas. Meanwhile, ESPN rates Williams as the country’s No. 46 shooting guard and as the No. 2 player from the Sunflower State. Lastly, On3 lists Williams as the No. 50 shooting guard nationally and as the No. 5 player from Kansas.

The Hawkeyes currently have one commitment in the 2024 class from four-star forward Cooper Koch out of Peoria Notre Dame in Illinois. Iowa also just picked up a 247Sports crystal ball prediction to land talented three-star wing Caden Diggs.

Take a look below at some of TJ Williams’ recent highlights with KC Run GMC. Plus, the Wichita product’s full recruiting profile.

Notre Dame baseball falls 5-4 against Lipscomb

Game one didn’t result in their first win but tomorrow is another day

This wasn’t the way new [autotag]Notre Dame[/autotag] head coach [autotag]Shawn Stiffler[/autotag] envisioned opening the season: losing to Lipscomb, 5-4. It was a difficult go for the Irish hitters, who mustered one hit all afternoon.

The hit was a big one. Outfielder [autotag]TJ Williams[/autotag] blasted a two-run homer in the top of the fifth. The offense showed some life late, putting two runners on in the ninth. Both advanced and scored on wild pitches. With two outs, Zack Prajzner walked and Williams came to the plate. He struck out to end the game.

It wasn’t easy on Irish pitchers either. Both starter [autotag]Blake Hely[/autotag] and reliever [autotag]Jack Findlay[/autotag] gave up multiple runs.

Hely lasted three innings, giving up three runs while striking out just one. Findlay came in to relieve him. While he had his strikeout pitches working, fanning seven, he gave up two runs in his three innings.

The Irish try again for win No. 1 of the year on Saturday, 3 p.m. EST. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+.

Notre Dame Baseball escapes with a win against Michigan State

Timely hitting and great pitching are a winning combo for the Irish

It wasn’t easy for the Irish as Michigan State was a much tougher task than anticipated. It was a game where starting pitcher John Michael Bertrand was once again at the top of his game, going seven strong innings allowing just one run while striking out four batters.

The Spartans finally got the the Irish ace during his final inning, almost preventing him from securing the victory. Reliever Ryan McLinskey picked Bertrand up, facing six batters and retiring each of them, while striking out four as the Irish scored in the bottom of the seventh to get Bertrand the win.

The batters struggled for the most part, mustering just two hits all game, but making them count. TJ Williams’ single led to Brooks Coetzee’s sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fifth. The winning hit was by Jack Brannigan, his solo homer put the Irish ahead 2-1 and finished out the game.

The Irish look for the sweep of their weekend Big Ten foes as they face host Minnesota tomorrow at 6pm EST on Big Ten Network Plus.

Notre Dame baseball routs Marist to start their weekend series

A nice way to start a weekend

The Irish didn’t want to let another team think they could hang around with them and it showed against Marist. Link Jarrett’s team jumped out to an early 8-0 lead after the first inning and then cruised to a 20-2 win to open their weekend series.

It was a total team effort as four players (TJ Williams, Jack Zyska, DM Jefferson and Nick Juaire) each had multiple RBIs in the contest. Ryan Cole led the team with three hits, and two players, Zyska and Justin Kapus hit homers.

Starter Aidan Tyrell was magnificent, going seven strong innings, allowing just three hits, no runs and striking out five batters. Sammy Cooper finished off the game and although he did allow two runs, he struck out three finishing off the blow out.

The Irish play two today, their first game of the doubleheader starting at 2pm EST as John Michael Bertrand takes the hill against Monmouth.
