Auburn DL target TJ Lindsey announces top five, sets commitment date

The Tigers are battling Alabama, Texas A&M, Texas and Miami for the talented defensive lineman.

Defensive lineman [autotag]TJ Lindsey[/autotag] is one of Auburn’s top remaining targets and the interest is certainly mutual. The four-star prospect has taken multiple trips to the Plains and on Monday included the Tigers in his top five schools.

They will be battling Alabama, Texas A&M, Texas and Miami for Lindsey also set his commitment date for Saturday, Aug. 12.

He officially visited all of his finalists, except for Alabama, in June and was planning to return to Auburn for Big Cat Weekend but was unable to do to practice at IMG Academy. However, his parents were able to check out the event and he FaceTimed in to enjoy the big day.

He is the No. 304 overall player and No. 34 defensive lineman in the 247Sports Composite ranking. He is also the No. 46 player from Florida.

Plenty can change before his commitment date but the Tigers are currently leading for the 6-foot-3, 291-pounder. They received two 247Sports crystal balls back in July with Texas A&M having one that was made back in April.

Auburn currently has the No. 16 ranked class for the 2024 recruiting cycle but has just one defensive lineman committed, four-star [autotag]Malik Blocton[/autotag].

2024 4-Star DL TJ Lindsey has placed Texas A&M among his Top 5 program list

Ahead of his Aug. 12th commitment, 2024 4-star DL TJ Lindsey has placed Texas A&M in his Top 5 program list.

Texas A&M’s 2023 season is less than a month away. As fall camp nears its end this week, the Aggies 2024 recruiting class is back in full view, with the focus shifting to four-star defensive lineman TJ Lindsey, one of Jimbo Fisher’s remaining priority prospects is set to announce his commitment on Saturday, Aug. 12.

On Tuesday, Lindsey released his final Top 5 program list ahead of next month’s decision, including Alabama, Auburn, Texas, Miami, and Texas A&M.

As one of the top pass rushers in the cycle, Lindsey has taken three visits to College Station this year, including two unofficial visits on Jan. 21 and March 31 and his recent official visit on June 16, as the Aggies are currently battling with Auburn as things stand from a prediction standpoint.

According to 247Sports Composite, Lindsey is positioned as the 34th-ranked defensive line and the 46th-ranked player in Florida; as he’s set to enter his senior season at the prestigious IMG Academy, Lindsey helped lead his previous School, Bryant (AR), to a 12-0 season, and its fourth consecutive Class 7A state championship title, recording 44 tackles, seven sacks, nineteen quarterback hurries, four tackles for a loss, and one pass breakup.

At 6-4 and over 290 pounds, Lindsey’s speed, strength, and versatility on the D-line have led to over 35 offers, and even though new Auburn Head Coach Hugh Freeze holds a slight advantage, the Aggies should still feel confident that they are at the finish line with momentum on their side.

Four-star DL is trending towards Auburn

Can Hugh Freeze continue to build momentum on the recruiting trail?

After landing a talented five-star in Demarcus Riddick, can [autotag]Hugh Freeze[/autotag] continue to build momentum on the recruiting trail?

He could do just that by landing four-star DL [autotag]TJ Lindsey[/autotag] to his already impressive 2024 recruiting class.

Lindsey is a top 50 defensive lineman across all recruiting platforms and is beginning to trend toward Auburn. Cole Pinkston of Auburn Live has put in a new prediction that favors Auburn($). He has predicted that Lindsey will commit to Auburn, doing so with 60% confidence.

Lindsey was supposed to be one of several top names to make his way to Auburn this weekend for Big Cat Weekend. However, due to his recent transfer to IMG Academy from Bryant High School in Arkansas, he will not be able to attend.

However, Auburn is high on his radar. He told Pinkston earlier this summer that Auburn has everything that he “would want or need.”

Despite the prediction, Lindsey is still favored to commit to Texas A&M according to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine, with the Aggies holding a 52.8% advantage. Auburn is next in line with a 34.3% chance to earn Lindsey’s commitment, with Arkansas and Texas trailing. He has one crystal ball prediction for Texas A&M from 247Sports.

Auburn is in the top group for 4-star DL TJ Lindsey

They are battling Texas, Miamie and Texas A&M for him.

Four-star defensive lineman [autotag]TJ Lindsey[/autotag] is one of the top defensive linemen in the country and a key Auburn target.

The Tigers are not the only school in pursuit of the Bryant, Arkansas native though, he has taken official visits to Texas, Texas A&M and Miami in addition to Auburn.

While several schools are in pursuit, Auburn and Texas have started to separate themselves for Lindsey, who told On3’s Cole Pinkston that they were probably the best official visits he took.

“Auburn’s chances are very high,” he added.” “I would say they are probably in the top three, and that could be anybody. “Same situation with (Texas).”

He also believes that Auburn has “everything that I am looking for and that I would want or need.”

Lindsey is the No. 329 overall player and No. 30 defensive lineman in the On3 Industry Ranking. He is also the No. 50 player from Florida.

He included Auburn in his top 10 schools on June 1 ahead of his official visits and the Tigers have clearly pulled ahead of the pack since then. The next step in his recruitment could be a commitment, something On3’s Gerry Hamilton believes is “very likely” to happen before he reports to IMG Academy on July 20.

These 2024 football prospects will visit Texas A&M the weekend of June 16

Texas A&M’s recruiting summer rolls along as the Aggies welcome a handful of top football prospects from the 2024 cycle this weekend, including a five-star WR.

Another June weekend means another opportunity for Texas A&M to welcome a handful of top football prospects from the 2024 cycle.

After the Aggies saw a plethora of top recruiting visits in College Station over the last two weeks, this weekend marks the first instance where the visitor list isn’t as offensive line-heavy. Additionally, no prospects from the Lone Star State are expected for official visits from June 16 through June 18.

Still, it doesn’t exclude Jimbo Fisher and his staff from being hard at work to convince some of the most promising football players of the future to make College Station their next home. On the docket, this weekend is a handful of visits from some top-tier wideouts, including one five-star prospect and the number one ranked player in Alabama.

Additionally, a four-star defensive lineman will make his way through Aggieland. While he’s trending toward the Maroon and White, perhaps an OV this weekend will be the icing on the cake on him formally committing to A&M.

Here’s the rundown on the top football prospects visiting Texas A&M over the weekend. As always, we’ll update this accordingly if any additional names are to be added.

Star defensive end Lindsey includes Arkansas in his top 10

TJ Lindsey, a 4-star defensive end from Bryant who recently transferred to IMG Academy, has Arkansas in his top 10.

Bryant’s TJ Lindsey, who recently decided to transfer to IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., released his top 10 late this week.

Arkansas is on the list, with nine other schools joining the Razorbacks.

His former school, Bryant, made headlines this week with head coach Buck James leaving the Hornets after a 53-game winning streak and five straight state titles to go coach conference rival Conway.

Lindsey (6-4, 275) is a 4-star on Rivals and a 3-star across most other services.

He was a stalwart on the Hornet defensive line, accumulating 44 tackles, four for loss, seven sacks, 19 quarterback hurries and a pass breakup as Bryant went 12-0 and outscored their opponents 442-134.

2024 3-star DL TJ Lindsey places Texas A&M in his Top 10 program list

Texas A&M has made the cut for rising 2024 3-star defensive lineman TJ Lindsey, who recently released his Top 10 program list.

June is here, meaning that summer has officially begun, and Texas A&M head coach Jimbo Fisher and his staff are hosting some of the top 2024 prospects in College Station this weekend and many weekends to come.

This is also a time for prospects to release their final program lists to notify each listed school that their interest is reciprocated, and it’s time to make a final recruiting push this summer to be taken seriously on commitment day. On Thursday, the Aggies received good news regarding 2024 three-star defensive lineman TJ Lindsey, who released his final Top 10 program list, including Arkansas, USC, Oregon, Texas, Tennessee, Miami, Auburn, Missouri, Michigan, and Texas A&M.

Lindsey is steadily rising as a prospect in the cycle, currently positioned as the 44th-ranked DL in the class, and the 5th-ranked player in Arkansas, according to 247Sports. After an impressive 2022 junior season, Linsey recorded 44 tackles, seven sacks, nineteen quarterback hurries, four tackles for a loss, and one pass breakup, and helped lead Bryant High School to a perfect 12-0 season record and its fourth consecutive Class 7A state championship title.

At 6-4 and over 290 pounds, Lindsey’s speed, strength, and versatility on the D-line have led to over 35 offers, and outside of his Top 10 list, he has also received an offer from Alabama ahead of his June 2 visit to Auburn, and his June 23 visit to the Texas Longhorns in Austin. Good news for Texas A&M, after taking an unofficial visit to College Station in March, Lindsey is still favored to land with the Maroon and White per one 247Sports recruiting expert. However, I expect Arkansas and head coach Sam Pittman to be their fiercest opponent down the stretch.

PHOTOS: Texas A&M Football welcomes Class of 2024 and 2025 recruits over the weekend

It was a big weekend for Aggies football as they welcomed a number of recruits from the 2024 and 2025 recruiting classes to College Station.

It may have been April Fool’s weekend for most of us, but it was no joke for Texas A&M as the Maroon and White were hard at work hosting a number of talented football recruits at College Station over the last few days.

A number of players from the Class of 2024 and 2025 recruiting classes descended upon Aggieland over the weekend with the hopes of getting a feel for the football program after already receiving offers from A&M. For a handful of players it marked a return visit, while others were able to don the Maroon and White for the first time as a potential preview.

From the looks of it, they all enjoyed their time at Aggieland as the players took to social media to share their experiences. Check out the photos below, and here’s to hoping we see some of them don the Maroon and White permanently in the future!

LSU offers 3-star defensive lineman from Arkansas

Bryant, Arkansas, native TJ Lindsey has already picked up some impressive Power Five offers.

[autotag]TJ Lindsey[/autotag] is a six-foot-five, 250-pound, three-star defensive lineman in the class of 2024. He is from Bryant, Arkansas, where he plays for Bryant High School. The Bryant Hornets finished the 2022 season 12-0 and were champions of class 7A in Arkansas, the highest classification in Arkansas. LSU is thin at the defensive line, so Lindsey would be a very nice addition to the 2024 recruiting class.

Film Analysis: Lindsey stars as a defensive end for the Hornets, terrorizing opposing quarterbacks with his power rush off the edge. He has fundamentally solid handwork that allows him to shed blocks from any offensive tackle that tries to stop him.
