Timothée Chalamet was offered Stephen A. Smith mentorship for an ESPN career

Get this man on TV talking about sports more often!

Oscar-nominated actor Timothée Chalamet stole headlines and hearts when he appeared on ESPN’s College GameDay on Saturday.

While promoting his upcoming Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown before it opens on Christmas Day, he some impressive correct predictions on this panel.

He also brought some great research and general knowledge to the table during this appearance, which made the experience even more fun for the viewers at home.

It was legitimately refreshing to hear someone approach this assignment as seriously as he did, especially considering many who appear on TV for their full-time job do not take that same approach.

TIMOTHÉE CHALAMET: The actor impressed fans with his GameDay picks

This was not just Chalemet goofing around, though.

It appears that the New York-born 28-year-old is a longtime sports fan. In fact, way back in 2010, he even won a contest by two former NBA players and won free tickets to see the Knicks at Madison Square Garden.

Chalamet joked during a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight that he would love to pivot to a gig at ESPN or “any sportscasting” job.

He added that acting is not always very reliable and that he would love a job for six to eight months hosting a show like Stephen A. Smith or Pat McAfee.

Smith saw the tweet and said down to show him “the ropes” whenever.

Imagine the raw talent we saw from Chalemet trained under Smith’s tutelage. He would become an unstoppable force! Get this man on TV talking about sports more often!

Timothée Chalamet being the only College GameDay panelist to pick Ohio inspired great Dune jokes

LISAN AL GAIB!

Oscar-nominated actor Timothée Chalamet really does know ball after he stumped the rest of the ESPN College GameDay panel with his MAC championship game pick on Saturday.

While the rest of ESPN’s college football personalities picked Miami (Ohio) to emerge victorious, Chalamet broke down why he was riding with Ohio to win the game instead.

Well, the Bobcats made good on Chalamet’s confidence and won the MAC title convincingly with a 38-3 victory.

Chalamet also got his Arizona State and Jacksonville State picks right, but it’s the Ohio pick specifically that got fans remembering who he is: the Lisan al Gaib.

Oh yes, the Dune jokes were absolutely great for Chalamet making his prophetic Ohio pick.

Timothée Chalamet KNOWS BALL and impressed fans with his GameDay picks

Timothée Chalamet picked Texas over Georgia on GameDay for his Interstellar “movie dad,” Matthew McConaughey.

Timothée Chalamet joined ESPN’s College GameDay on Saturday from the SEC championship game between No. 2 Texas and No. 5 Georgia, and the Dune actor didn’t disappoint with his appearance. In fact, he impressed college football fans quite a bit, beyond putting up $400,000 on the field goal challenge (and almost regretting it).

Turns out, Chalamet KNOWS BALL, and he showed off his college football knowledge when making his picks with Nick Saban, Desmond Howard, Kirk Herbstreit and Pat McAfee.

ESPN delivered a supercut of all Chalamet’s GameDay picks, and sure, he had notes in front of him like a lot of guest pickers, but he clearly watches the sport and knows what he’s talking about. He had stats and program culture knowledge to back up his predictions, and he was absolutely captivating.

COLLEGE GAMEDAY: Nick Saban dropped another NSFW analogy to describe college football flag-planting penalties

For his conference championship picks, Chalamet went with Jackson State over Southern in the SWAC game, Ohio over Miami (Ohio) in the MAC game, Louisiana over Marshall in the Sun Belt game, Arizona State over Iowa State in the Big 12 game, SMU over Clemson in the ACC game, Oregon over Penn State in the Big Ten game and Texas over Georgia in the SEC game.

Hilariously, Chalamet’s rationale for picking the Longhorns over the Bulldogs boiled down to his Interstellar “movie dad,” Matthew McConaughey, and apologized to Georgia fans for his pick.

Timothée Chalamet put up $400K for Pat McAfee’s field goal challenge and nearly regretted it immediately

This was almost an epic backfire.

Timothée Chalamet was announced as the celebrity guest picker for ESPN’s College GameDay on Saturday but decided to join the show just a little bit early for Pat McAfee’s weekly field goal challenge.

By now everyone has a good handle on the rules: McAfee puts up a predetermined amount of money if a fan can make a 33-yard field goal. Most of the time, they can not. Sometimes the money gets doubled if McAfee is in a good mood. Sometimes the kicker gets two chances to split the uprights if McAfee is in a great mood.

On Saturday, McAfee was so confident after the kicker missed his first attempt for $200,000 that he doubled down immediately. Kirk Herbstreit got peer pressured by McAfee to do the same, bringing the total up to $800,000. But with Chalamet standing right there, McAfee leaned over and asked if he wanted to match, too.

“Yeah, I’ll get in there, too” Chalamet replied.

It was only a moment after you could see him doing the math in his head to understand what he just committed to: A $1.4 million prize.

Fortunately for McAfee, Herbstreit and Chalamet — and unfortunately for the Texas fan — the second kick missed. Yet for a split second It sure looked like they were each about to be out $400,000 before noon.

The handshake McAfee gave Chalamet right after the miss really says it all.

Hugh Grant dejectedly saying ‘I play the Oompa Loompa’ in French is too good

Nothing so funny has ever sounded so sad.

The new reimagining of Willy Wonka is hitting theaters this Friday, December 15 as Timothée Chalamet takes on Roald Dahl’s iconic candy character in Wonka. Chalamet will join Johnny Depp and Gene Wilder in the ranks of Wonkas, with the latest being an origin story before he starts his chocolate factory or even hears the name Charlie.

Wonka also stars Olivia Colman (The Crown), Keegan Michael-Key (Key and Peele), Calah Lane (This Is Us) and Hugh Grant (Love Actually).

Grant, who plays one of the memorable orange, song-singing Oompa Loompas, described his role in French during an interview on Wonka‘s press junket. With his morose “Je joue le Oompa Loompa” — which translates to “I play the Oompa Loompa” — Grant set the internet ablaze.

Timothée Chalamet’s Willy Wonka prequel got movie fans excited with a scrumptious first trailer

Our first look at Timothée Chalamet’s Wonka has arrived.

Actor Timothée Chalamet is about to have a very busy fall, as he’s set to lead the upcoming Dune: Part Two in November and the upcoming Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory prequel Wonka in December.

We got our first major look at the latter on Tuesday, as Warner Bros. debuted the trailer for Wonka, directed by Paddington filmmaker Paul King.

The film goes back into Wonka’s past and shows (with plenty of whimsy and chocolate) how the candy magnate got started in his confection-filled career.

Also starring in the film are Hugh Grant, Olivia Colman, Sally Hawkins, Keegan Michael-Key, Rowan Atkinson, Matt Lucas, Paterson Joseph and Jim Carter.

You can get a first glimpse at Wonka with the first trailer below.

After the trailer premiered, Chalamet had a pretty funny tweet about Grant playing an Oompa Loompa in the movie.

As you’d imagine, the trailer got plenty of excited reactions for folks who might’ve been skeptical about this one before getting a first look at what Chalamet and King have been cooking up.

Before ‘Dune’, Timothée Chalamet modded Xbox 360 controllers

Dune star Timothée Chalamet admits he used to mod Xbox 360 controllers on YouTube.

Vice hired investigative reporters to discover whether or not a YouTube channel belongs to a young Timothée Chalamet, who plays Paul Atreides in Dune.

The video shows a young boy with a raspy voice, his head obscured from the frame. He’s holding a modded Xbox 360 controller with red and black stripes across its body.

“Here’s a red tiger,” the voice says. “Started it yesterday, finished it today. It looks nice. It looks sexy.”

The voice sounds close to Chalamet’s in Law & Order, which was his first big break as an actor in 2009, just before this YouTube video was uploaded.

Vice also compared the scar on the finger in the video to the same scar sported by the Dune actor’s ring finger, confirming a match.

Here’s the video in question:

The website also poured through old photos of Chalamet and compared details of the furniture from his childhood, noting that the chair in the video is the same as one from his boyhood Instagram photos.  According to Vice, “It is him.”

This is backed up by YouTuber Nate Hill, who interviewed Chalamet and got confirmation that the channel was his. In the same video, Dune co-star Zendaya confirms that The Sims is more her “vibe”.

An interview confirmation isn’t quite as fun as a forensic investigation, though, is it?

Timothée Chalamet is one of the hottest stars in Hollywood right now. His most recent movie, Dune, opened to $40.1 million in box office revenue in North America.

Comments are turned off on his Xbox 360 controller video, but it now has 285,232 views on YouTube.
