LeBron James is finally trying his hand at TikTok

Bron out here looking kind of wild.

TikTok has really taken over the internet since we’ve all been quarantined and isolated in our own homes.

People are trying their hand at all the wild TikTok dances that we’ve seen all the kids do over the last few months. The results have been…interesting so far. Either you eat it up or you end up looking absolutely ridiculous and old. There’s no in between.

I’m still trying to figure out where LeBron James falls in all of this. It seems that, in this time of extreme boredom, he’s finally jumping all in on TikTok.

Last night — wait, no, this morning? — he tweeted that his kids had him looking like a fool doing these dances.

To be honest, upon seeing the results, it is hard to disagree with Bron here. He looks absolutely ridiculous.

Though, I do have to say, this is his best TikTok performance yet. The joint he did earlier in March with the rest of the family? That was not it.

This is good! He’s getting better. It’s only a matter of time before James makes his own TikTok account and we get some extreme dance videos from the Lakers’ superstar.

Until then, just keep hi-jacking Bronny and Bryce’s accounts, Bron.  It’s for the best.

LeBron James says his kids and TikTok make him look like ‘a fool’

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James is coming to terms with how his kids have him feeling when they put him on their TikTok videos.

Among the many things that LeBron James is trying to use his extra time to do while being at home with his kids and his wife has been joining them on TikTok. LeBron’s oldest son Bronny already has a pretty strong following on the platform, often enlisting their sister Zhuri and the rest of the family to join in on viral dance challenges. LeBron’s younger son Bryce also has a TikTok, so that means LeBron has been in double the ‘Toks during the NBA hiatus and his time in self-quarantine after two members of the Lakers tested positive for coronavirus. However, while LeBron knows he is winning Dad points, he is not winning any cool points.

Of course, it looks in the videos as though LeBron is taking it all with a humorous perspective as best as he can. While everyone is looking for different ways to cope during a difficult time in the world, acting a fool on TikTok is just one of the ways LeBron is doing so.

Jack Black is on TikTok and it’s even better than we could have imagined

Look at the big fella move.

Jack Black is arguably the most gifted physical comedian of our time. I can’t tell you the amount of times the man has made me laugh in a film just by running, as he takes a simple act and has a way of throwing in flourishes  — a small skip, the tiniest leap — that make the entire thing work in a new, ridiculously funny way.

He also has that rare agility you occasionally see in bigger fellas (Chris Farley had it), which allows him to switch between bumbling doofus and graceful ballerina and back again, all in a moment or two.

All of which is to say that I shouldn’t have been surprised that Black would be absolutely essential on TikTok. Yet here I was, surprised. Now you can enjoy it. Watch, and be amazed:

In a minute, Black shows off every part of his arsenal. The agility, the goofiness, the faux-klutziness, and then a show-stopper move that someone of his size shouldn’t be able to pull off.

Thank you for this, Jack Black. I stand and applaud.

Matisse Thybulle has quite possibly lost it during his self-quarantine

Self-made TikTok star Matisse Thybulle showed off his boredom recently by introducing his new best friend to the world.

Philadelphia 76ers rookie, and self-made TikTok star, Matisse Thybulle turned his quarantine boredom into yet another popular video clip on Wednesday.

Thybulle tipped off his TikTok career just as the NBA suspended the regular season until further notice due to the coronavirus pandemic. He has become wildly successful, already amassing more than 92,000 followers on the social media outlet.

In his latest conquest, Thybulle showed off his apparent new best friend, his robotic vacuum cleaner. Thybulle “walked” it around the house and even watched TV with it on the couch. To help illustrate how bored Thybulle is, he played “Myself” by Bazzi during the clip.

Players around the NBA have resorted to other ways to stay busy during this down period. Some have watched their own highlights on YouTube while others have gotten quite creative on TikTok and other outlets. Thybulle has been perhaps one of the most outgoing rookies this season and it’s only right he shows that off on social media.

With 10.1 million followers, the NBA …

With 10.1 million followers, the NBA isn’t just the most followed sports league on TikTok—it’s the most followed brand on the platform. The NBA TikTok is full of highlights but also relies heavily on in-arena entertainment that fans tuning into a live broadcast might not see. “Our mascot content performs best,” said Bob Carney, svp, social and digital content at the NBA. “We even created the hashtag #MascotMonday to highlight mascot content on a regular basis. The hashtag is home to some of our more light-hearted content such as pregame dances, funny bloopers and many other moments that usually can only be seen in-arena.” (Chicago Bulls mascot Benny the Bull alone has 2.2 million TikTok followers.)

American soccer fans react to Christian Pulisic beefing it during a TikTok video

The American soccer star fell hard during a TikTok, causing USMNT and Chelsea fans to hold their breath.

Christian Pulisic is, like many of us, on quarantine and looking for a way to fill the hours. As a young person, the Chelsea and USMNT star decided to get on Tik Tok. As someone who’s very good at soccer, he decided to post himself juggling a soccer ball.

And that’s when everything got very scary. At least for U.S. and Chelsea fans.

In the middle of a move, Pulisic caught the ball under his foot and went flying down.

American soccer and Chelsea fans held their breath. Pulisic made a grimace … checked things out … then smiled. Disaster was averted. We live to fight another day.

Pulisic was just about to come back from injury when global soccer shutdown due to the coronavirus pandemic. Fans were … rightfully a bit afraid watching the video.

Ja Morant’s TikTok shares nostalgia for the better days of last week

Ja Morant posted a TikTok of him pretending to walk onto the court with a PA announcer blaring his credentials overhead.

Who among us hasn’t pretended to step onto a court in front of a screaming crowd?

Memphis Grizzlies rookie Ja Morant is just like the rest of us.

The difference is, he actually knows the sound of a roaring audience excited to see him. He misses that, as he misses stepping onto a basketball court and embarrassing opponents with his crazy passes or athletic drives to the rim.

Morant is passing the time during this suspension in play the way so many of us are, and they way some of his peers in the NBA are doing it: by making TikTok videos.

It’s some shared nostalgia from the young star in the middle of season in which he’s the Rookie of the Year favorite.

NBA league play is suspended at least 30 days and will almost definitely be longer. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that owners and executives are preparing for a three-month break in action as a best-case scenario.

Until that’s back, these Gen Z players can act like normal, everyday people in their age group: just messing around with fun videos on social media.

NBA players are turning into TikTok stars during coronavirus hiatus

A good way to pass the time.

There’s at least one good thing coming out of the prolonged NBA season being suspended because of the coronavirus pandemic: players are turning to TikTok to keep themselves and the world amused.

So far, I’ve seen some really good offerings from Oklahoma City Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Philadelphia 76ers rookie Mattisse Thybulle, very tall Boston Celtics center Tacko Fall and some guy named LeBron James, which of course star his family, the James Gang.

That means we’re about to get months of coordinated dances, funny moments, and some all-around creativity that will hopefully pass the time until basketball is back. Here are a few of the offerings we’ve seen:
