The Rock sends Tom Brady a housewarming gift

Tom Brady took to Instagram to show off a housewarming gift sent to him by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

It’s good to be Tom Brady (not that any of us ever thought otherwise).

The six-time Super Bowl champion, who joined the Buccaneers this offseason, has a Hall of Fame resume, beautiful family, and celebrity friends left and right, including Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Brady took to Instagram today to show off a housewarming gift sent to him by the Hollywood star and former football player.

Take a look.

Browns legend Joe Thomas looks like a totally different person on ‘The Titan Games’

The Cleveland Browns legend is unrecognizable on the show.

The Rock’s new game show, The Titan Games — which is basically a combination of American Ninja Warrior and American Gladiators — debuted on NBC last night.

The breakout star of the first episode was Browns legend Joe Thomas, the ironman of football who played left tackle for Cleveland for the better part of a decade. Thomas was the “Titan” and took on two challengers on Mt. Olympus, which is like the Aggro Crag but for large people who do Crossfit.

That’s all well and good. What was more notable was that Joe Thomas was, for all intents and purposes, completely unrecognizable. I had known that Thomas lost a lot of weight after his career — he played at 312 pounds — but still, I did a triple take.

This was Joe Thomas when he was an All Pro offensive lineman with the Browns:

This is Joe Thomas on The Titan Games:

If I saw that man on the street, I would certainly be wowed by his size, but I would also have absolutely no idea that was Joe Thomas.

My colleague Andrew Joseph wrote about Thomas’ transformation last year. Thomas lost over 50 pounds since his playing days, and points to a lot of cardio — swimming is his favorite — and a diet heavy in meat and vegetables as getting him down to his current size.

The Rock uses his ‘Moana’ song to teach his daughter how to wash her hands

SO ADORABLE.

Experts during the global coronavirus pandemic have been endlessly repeating the same advice: Stay home if you can, social distance, and wash your hands frequently.

Countless songs or portions of songs have been suggested for people to sing to ensure they thoroughly wash their hands for 20 seconds, from Happy Birthday (twice) to an excerpt from Hamilton. The possibilities are endless, and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is here with another suggestion for people.

In a precious video he made with his daughter, “Baby Tia,” the wrestler turned actor sang a portion of the song, You’re Welcome, which was written by Lin-Manuel Miranda and performed by The Rock in the animated movie Moana.

Tia, adorably and impatiently, demands her dad sing the song as he introduces the point of the video. Johnson — who also recently showed off his ability to eat a ridiculous amount of French toast — explains that you could sing the ABCs while washing your hands, but this is more fun.

In the video caption on Instagram, Johnson wrote:

Our sheltering at home, pre daddy’s shower ritual 👶🏽🎶

Before my showers now, Baby Tia (mama mia) demands I sing the rap portion of my song “You’re Welcome” from MOANA, while I wash her hands.
We realized a few weeks ago that the rap portion of the song is perfect timing when getting your little ones to have fun washing their hands.
Stay healthy and safe, my friends.
D
And gotta love how at the start of this vid, baby Tia is like, “just shut your mouth and sing daddy” 😂

Twitter could not get over The Rock’s preposterously huge French toast cheat meal

The Rock’s cheat meals are serious.

We’re at a time where there are no live sports to watch, so we’ll have to settle for Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson eating an absurd amount of food on Instagram Live.

And, you know what?  That’s just fine.

The Rock’s diet has been published in detail over the past few years. It roughly consists of more than three pounds of meat or fish per day, 5.5 cups of rice, 4 cups of vegetables and 14 egg whites.

In all, that diet plan comes to The Rock eating between 5,000 and 6,000 calories per day so he can maintain his physique.

But his cheat meals are spectacles in their own right. On Sunday, The Rock hosted an AMA on Instagram Live as he enjoyed a cheat meal of “brioche french toast smuuuthaad with peanut butter and syrup” along with some tequila.

And by French toast, he meant enough French toast to feed a family of five. The internet was in awe. (Note: Expand the tweets to see full image)

Nearly 150,000 people tuned in to watch that action, and they didn’t leave disappointed.

Watch: Former Redskins TE Vernon Davis displays acting chops on ESPN

Davis recently retired from the NFL, but he may have a long career ahead of him on either a TV screen or the Big Screen.

It’s starting to be pretty obvious that former Washington Redskins tight end Vernon Davis has a career outside of football.

The Redskins tight end announced his retirement ahead of Super Bowl LIV between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers, as his final season with the Redsksin was marred by injuries and an elongated recovery from a concussion. Many assumed that Davis would find a gig as a TV analyst or commentator fresh off of his 14-year career, but it’s not crazy to think that the two-time Pro-Bowler could have a nice career as an actor as well.

Davis already has a well-establish IMDB page, and his biggest role came in 2017 on the Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson flick, Baywatch, where he plays himself.

A handsome and charming guy like Davis will rarely struggle to find work, and a way to make an income, especially if he can continue to develop his acting chops along the way. It will be interesting to see where his career takes him down the road.

LSU releases ANOTHER jaw-dropping hype video, this time featuring The Rock

LSU has released yet another hype video ahead of the CFP national championship game against Clemson, this time featuring Dwayne Johnson.

It seems like a ridiculous thing to say, but over the last few weeks I can earnestly claim that my favorite filmmaker working right now is the LSU Football social media team.

Sure, Martin Scorcese has an arsenal of filmmaking techniques, Bong Joon-ho has an unparalleled vision, whatever. None of them have slow-mo videos of Joe Burrow walking into a packed stadium while The Rock narrates some badass nonsense that makes me want to run through a wall.

Every hype video is better than the last one, and the morning of the national championship game, they’ve gone and outdone themselves, with a new video called “I Remember Rock Bottom.”

Watch it, then dive through a plate glass window.

My understanding of these two teams, LSU and Clemson, says this game will be closer than people think. But after watching this video, forget it: LSU by a million.

The Rock responds to Nate Diaz calling him out after UFC 244

“That’s the Nate we all know and love.”

The Rock smelled what Nate Diaz was cooking after UFC 244 and he apparently enjoyed it.

And yes, I do feel terrible about writing that line but let’s move on, shall we?

The former WWE champ, who is now a gigantic movie star who enjoys epic cheat meals, played a fun role in the UFC 244 main event between Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz at Madison Square Garden last week.

Masvidal won the fight after a doctor got in the way and called the fight due to some cuts Diaz had suffered above and below his right eye.

After the fight, Diaz had a hilarious take on The Rock, saying that he loves “Ballers” but that the Rock “could get it, too” since he was on Masvidal’s side because the two are from Miami and are friends.

Here’s Diaz talking about that in his post-fight presser. It’s great. Also, there are some F-bombs in the video so if you don’t like curse words then shut your computer and run for the gosh darn hills:

The Rock appeared on “Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show” on ESPN on Monday and said that he loved hearing that from Diaz:

The Rock is longtime UFC fan and totally gets who Diaz is as a person, which is great and correct.

We’ll have to wait and see what’s next for Masvidal, but I’d love to see he and Diaz run it back again. But just not in New York. And don’t invite that doctor.
