AEW Double or Nothing 2023: Predictions for every match in Las Vegas

See who we expect to win every match at AEW Double or Nothing this weekend in Las Vegas.

AEW has been in the headlines for many reasons outside of wrestling lately between its new television show and the daily behind-the-scenes soap opera that involves its most marketable star.

But there is business to attend to this weekend with Double or Nothing, which has a main event that features the promotion’s famed “Four Pillars.” Can those pillars hold up the annual extravaganza or will an anarchic match steal the show?

I break it all down with my predictions:

AEW World Heavyweight Championship: MJF (c) vs. “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry vs. Darby Allin vs. Sammy Guevara

AEW tried really hard — I mean really hard — to convince people that the three challengers in this match have a real chance of walking out of Vegas with the world title.

Unfortunately, that effort was all for naught, in my eyes.

For starters, I don’t see a reason to take the title away from MJF. On top of that, I don’t see any of the other three pillars being in a position to carry the mantle of being the world champ. Maybe they will be one day, but it doesn’t feel like they are at the moment.

Because of that, MJF is a good bet to retain.

Winner: MJF

Anarchy in the Arena: Blackpool Combat Club vs. The Elite

This is the match that I am most looking forward to watching on this show, and it is by a wide margin.

I can’t wait to see the wild antics these wrestlers will have up their sleeves. Oh, and you better believe there will be blood. This will not be for the squeamish.

I wrestled (no pun intended) with who I was going to pick to win this match, but at the end of the day, I think The Elite will walk away with a win at Double or Nothing. Since Kenny Omega already lost to Jon Moxley in a cage match on Dynamite, I feel like picking up the win here would be a good way to even the score without beating Moxley.

Winners: The Elite

Unsanctioned Match: Chris Jericho vs. Adam Cole

Unsanctioned matches always make me laugh because they always still look pretty sanctioned, and I always find that odd.

What I find even more odd is the inclusion of enigmatic ECW legend Sabu. I have no idea what to make of Sabu being involved in this story. Judging by my timeline’s reaction, I don’t think I’m alone in that feeling.

However, I am eager to hear how AEW explains the connection between Sabu and Adam Cole. Not because I need the gaping hole in the plot to be filled, but because I simply want to hear how absurd the promotion’s explanation is going to be.

As far as a winner. I’m going with Cole.

Winner: Adam Cole

AEW Women’s World Championship: Jamie Hayter (c) vs. Toni Storm

If you asked me last week, I would have quickly chosen Jamie Hayter to retain the title.

However, Hayter is apparently injured and her status is still seemingly up in the air as of this writing. AEW CEO, GM and Head of Creative Tony Khan was non-committal when asked whether Hayter will defend her title at Double or Nothing during a recent conference call, only adding to the mystery behind Hayter’s status.

Because of this, I’m going to go with Toni Storm to become a two-time champion.

Winner: Toni Storm

AEW World Tag Team Championship: FTR (c) vs. Jeff Jarrett & Jay Lethal

Here we are in the year of our lord 2023, and Double J has a chance to become a world tag team champion. Ain’t he great?

The most intriguing part of this match is the fact that Mark Briscoe is the special guest referee, and judging by him slapping everyone in sight on the most recent edition of Dynamite, he’s got heat with both sides.

By the way, I’ve probably watched Briscoe slap Jeff Jarrett’s hat off at least — at least — 78 times.

At least.

It was giving Bernie Mac in “Head of State” vibes.

As far as a winner, I just couldn’t imagine AEW putting the tag titles on Jarrett and Jay Lethal. I guess the promotion could always go in that direction for the heat alone, but it would feel more like a decision WWE would make. Copying WWE isn’t always a bad thing, but in this case, it would be horrible.

Winners: FTR

AEW TNT Championship (Ladder match): Wardlow (c) vs. Christian Cage

I know Christian Cage is supposed to be the master of the ladder match, and rightfully so, but Wardlow winning should be the only outcome here.

Maybe, just maybe, this could prove to be the catalyst that sparks Wardlow again.

Winner: Wardlow

AEW TBS Championship: Jade Cargill (c) vs. Taya Valkyrie

In my opinion, Taya Valkyrie represents the biggest threat to Jade Cargill’s title to date.

Under ordinary circumstances, I would still go with Cargill to retain. But with the uncertainty surrounding Hayter and the world title, maybe this could be a good time to move Cargill away from the TBS title and on the path to finally winning the division’s top prize.

So yes, I’m making the bold prediction of Valkyrie finding a way to dethrone the dominant champion, but only because said champion is moving on to bigger and better things.

Winner: Taya Valkyrie

AEW International Championship: Blackjack Battle Royal

The list of participants as of this writing are as follows:

• Orange Cassidy (c)
• Blade
• Butcher
• Bandido
• Komander
• Lee Moriarty
• Big Bill Morrissey
• Ari Daivari
• Tony Nese
• Chuck Taylor
• Trent Beretta
• Kip Sabian
• Fenix
• Pentagon
• Swerve Strickland
• Brian Cage
• Ricky Starks
• “Switchblade” Jay White
• Juice Robinson
• Keith Lee
• Dustin Rhodes

Since the story is that Orange Cassidy is practically being held together by duct tape, it feels like a good time to have him drop the title. It’s also a battle royal, meaning that he doesn’t even have to get pinned to lose.

That means a new champion will be crowned and I think that person will be …. *drumroll please*… Jay White.

I know Starks is the sentimental favorite heading into the match, but putting the title on White with Starks pursuing it could make for great television throughout the summer. I could even see Starks being the last one eliminated at Double or Nothing after some dastardly tactic by White.

Also, it could elevate the International Championship to another level. Cassidy has done all he probably can with the title. But White and Starks are capable of doing something special.

Winner: “Switchblade” Jay White

Six-man tag: Ethan Page and The Gunns vs. Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy and Hook

I must admit, Hook teaming with the Hardy Boyz is pretty wild. It doesn’t feel that long ago when Hook’s father, Taz, was wrestling the Hardys during his as an in-ring performer for WWE. Now, they’re teaming up with his adult son.

It’ll be so wild that they will come away with the victory.

Winner: Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy and Hook

On verge of potential announcement, we still don’t know if other AEW stars want CM Punk back

If the United Center is announced as the venue for the AEW: Collision premiere, it means CM Punk really is coming back, whether his co-workers like it or not.

Heading into the May 24 episode of AEW Dynamite that kicks off Double or Nothing week in Las Vegas, there’s a lot of uncertainty about the announcement Tony Khan will make during the show — even though, unlike many of Khan’s TV reveals, AEW has been very up front about what it’s about.

The announcement is about the premiere of AEW: Collision, the company’s new Saturday prime time show. The series will debut on June 17, but what Khan will tell AEW fans is where the first episode will take place.

The word is that it’s likely to be the United Center in Chicago, home of the NBA’s Bulls, the NHL’s Blackhawks and the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door card last year. It’s also the big indoor venue in the Windy City, which would make it perfect for the return of CM Punk.

That’s if Punk is indeed returning, which looked like a near certainty a few weeks ago but has since become a bit cloudier. There have been reports that Punk is irritated because Ace Steel, his friend and trainer who was fired in the wake of the post-All Out brawl last year, might not be allowed to be at TV tapings as a producer.

An even bigger question looms over Collision, and really all of AEW’s very ambitious plans for 2023: Do Punk’s co-workers even want him to return, or would they be happier seeing him go and continuing, as they have been since last summer, without him?

FTR surely does, as they have been some of Punk’s closest friends and supporters. The Elite almost certainly does not, as not enough time has passed to heal the wounds from the All Out confrontation.

Perhaps Chris Jericho is cool with it, as he reportedly had a meeting with Punk to help clear the air. That still leaves plenty of other members of the AEW roster whose feelings about the whole ordeal are unknown.

It’s possible they’re getting those feelings out there anonymously. PW Torch’s Wade Keller (h/t Cageside Seats) has “multiple people inside AEW” telling him that “top wrestlers who regularly appear on Dynamite would be relieved if [CM] Punk and AEW parted ways.” Keller has previously suggested that this list includes Jon Moxley, as well as The Elite.

This is why reports of a hard brand split between Dynamite and Collision are so easy to believe. If there’s that much ill will between Punk and big chunks of the roster, it makes sense to keep them apart, as silly as it might seem in other ways. AEW has enough wrestlers under contract to pull it off, especially on the men’s side.

And like any wrestling promotion, AEW isn’t a democracy. Khan will do what he feels is best for business, to borrow a phrase oft uttered by his competition. If he proceeds as expected and announces the United Center as the venue for the Collision premier, it almost certainly means Punk is on his way back, whether he includes that information on Dynamite or not.

It will be the topic of tons more discussion and speculation, which is great for AEW. It might not be as well received in the locker room, and that’s something Khan will have to deal with in the weeks to come.

AEW Dynamite preview: Four Pillars fight, Trios Battle Royale

Will things with the other Pillars finally spiral out of control for MJF?

Happy Tres de Mayo! What do you mean that’s not a thing? AEW Dynamite says it is, so we’re rolling with it for tonight’s episode from Baltimore.

The true spirit of Tres will come to life in a Trios Battle Royale. Among the teams joining in the festivities are The Acclaimed and Daddy Ass; The Butcher, The Blade and Kip Sabian; The Dark Order; Powerhouse Hobbs and the QTV crew; and … checks notes … Lucha Bros. and El Hijo del Vikingo? Holy crap.

While that will be the biggest match of the night in terms of number of competitors, another one looms larger in the AEW World Championship picture. MJF has tried his best to arrange things so that only Sammy Guevara — whose friendship he’s tried to buy — would be in line for a championship opportunity.

But “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry and Darby Allin have persisted, and now they have a chance to turn the upcoming match at Double or Nothing into a four-way affair if they can defeat MJF and Sammy in a tag team match tonight. Got all that?

Singles matches? Dynamite will have a few of those as well. Saraya will take on Willow Nightingale in a bout both her Outcasts teammates and their enemies will be watching closely. And Ricky Starks will battle Juice Robinson, who almost certainly will have Bullet Club Gold teammate Jay White close at hand.

Plus we’ll hear from The Elite, who have more unfinished business with Blackpool Combat Club, to say the least.

All this plus probably some well deserved victory laps over AEW’s impressive advance ticket sales for All In London are set for tonight at 8 p.m. ET on TBS. Tune in or join us here at Wrestling Junkie tonight to see how everything plays out.

Why CM Punk hasn’t apologized to The Elite, even as he prepares for comeback

It’s hard for CM Punk and The Elite to mend any fences if they’ve been told not to talk to each other.

It appears to be all systems go for a CM Punk return to AEW, setting up a fascinating chapter in what’s already been a wild story even by pro wrestling standards.

In his latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscription required), Dave Meltzer’s update on the situation is in line with what other insider are reporting. Punk is expected to return in June, coinciding with the launch of a new Saturday night show tentatively titled AEW Collision.

Punk will be the big name on that show, while the talent he called out, then fought during the infamous night of All Out 2022, The Elite (Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks) will stay on AEW Dynamite — effectively creating the type of brand split WWE has in place (though its adherence to it varies over time) with Raw and SmackDown.

If this arrangement comes to pass, it still leaves a number of questions unanswered. Will AEW be running twice as many TV tapings indefinitely? What happens at pay-per-views when, presumably, big names from both programs need to be on the card? Will AEW create another “world” championship?

But the one that hovers above all of them is simple: Why don’t Punk and The Elite just try to work things out so none of this is necessary?

Meltzer has an update on that front as well, suggesting that the two sides haven’t talked, but possibly because Punk was instructed not to do so.

Regarding the meeting scheduled to try and smooth out issues with Tony Khan, C.M. Punk, FTR and Chris Jericho, there’s nothing new on that and we were told it had not taken place as of press time. As of the weekend there was no resolution to the situation and there are many situations and things involved. Since I’ve been asked about this a lot, Punk has not apologized or attempted to make any direct amends to the Young Bucks, although those close to him said that’s because he’s been told not to have any contact with them and without any contact he couldn’t. Nobody has said he would if he could or he wouldn’t, because there are people who want everyone to make amends and that was suggested by many of at least an attempt at a way.

It’s not clear who would tell Punk not to reach out to The Elite, though the guess would be CEO and GM Tony Khan would be involved in some way. Given everything that’s gone down to this point, it’s understandable that Khan wouldn’t want back channel communication between Punk and Omega/The Bucks considering all that’s at stake.

On the other hand, brokering an “official” meeting would also make a ton of sense. If there’s any way for some of the biggest, most recognizable names to mainstream audiences to work together on the cusp of starting up a new weekly show, this is the time to explore it.

The expectation is that AEW will officially announce Punk’s return and the debut of AEW Collision ahead of time, so all eyes are now on whether that proves to be the case. What’s said — or not said — during those announcements will be interesting to dissect to determine if the trajectories of the main players in the All Out brawl will cross paths or not.

Opening Bell: Jay White makes Dynamite debut, Trish Stratus explains her turn

Get set for the week in WWE and AEW with Opening Bell: quick previews of Raw, SmackDown, Dynamite and Rampage.

Welcome to the Opening Bell, where we round up what’s been announced for WWE (Raw and SmackDown) and AEW (Dynamite and Rampage) programming for the week we’ve just begun.

WWE Raw preview – Monday, April 17, Simmons Bank Arena, North Little Rock, AR

Why, Trish Stratus, why?

That’s what many WWE fans want to know after the Hall of Famer ruined what appeared to be a perfectly good partnership she had going with Becky Lynch and fellow legend Lita. Was it just jealousy over not being part of the tag team champions, or was Trish simply following a precedent from way back? We’ll apparently hear directly from her mouth Monday on Raw.

United States Champion Austin Theory doesn’t need to explain himself at all, given that he’s on a roll that includes a big WrestleMania victory over John Cena. Talking might not be the best idea anyway against his opponent this week, Bobby Lashley. He’s more of an actions over words guy, and besides, they know each other well from previous clashes.

A match that was originally promoted for last week until travel gremlins struck will be back in North Little Rock too. Well, half of it, anyway. The Miz was going to face Matt Riddle last Monday, but now he’s going up against Seth Rollins instead. You decide whether that’s better or worse for the A-Lister.

Last and certainly not least, Brock Lesnar will be back on Raw this week as well. You may recall that Cody Rhodes challenged him to a match at Backlash after the Beast Incarnate decided to beat him down instead of tagging with him against the Bloodline. We’ll miss happy-go-lucky Cowboy Brock, but we’re definitely interested to see what this return to his more vengeful side holds. And Backlash needs a main event, so … yeah.

AEW Dynamite preview – Wednesday, April 19, Petersen Events Center, Pittsburgh

Buckle up everyone. Jay White, a.k.a. King Switch, a.k.a. the Catalyst, a.k.a. one half of Bullet Club Gold, apparently, a.k.a. numerous other things, is ready to start making his presence known in AEW. That begins this week when he faces Komander in what looks like a fantastic Dynamite debut.

A championship will also be on the line in Pittsburgh between two large men who still have unfinished business with each other. Powerhouse Hobbs is looking to make the chapter in his book where he’s the TNT Champion a long one, but Wardlow wants that title back around his own waist. Something has to give — hopefully not the ring.

A big tag women’s tag team match is also on the slate. The Outcasts have been running roughshod for weeks, but now they’ve angered their two highest profile foes into a match. Can Ruby Soho and Toni Storm keep their winning ways going against AEW Women’s World Champion Jamie Hayter and Britt Baker?

And that’s not all. When you tune in for Dynamite Wednesday, you can also expect:

WWE SmackDown preview – Friday, April 21, Value City Arena at The Schottenstein Center, Columbus, OH

O-hi-o, you’ve got championship matches incoming this week on SmackDown. Recently crowned Women’s Tag Team Champions Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez will try to make their first title defense a successful one when they face the challenge of Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville.

Gunther has held his Intercontinental Championship a lot longer and fended off a number of different wrestlers with their eyes on his gold. He thinks Xavier Woods is a “goof,” but the last man standing in The New Day will try to show the Ring General he’s a serious threat in Columbus.

On top of those title bouts, there’s a tag team match that figures to be somewhat significant. Braun Strowman and Ricochet got laid out by the Viking Raiders, and they’re not likely to be in a forgiving mood when the two teams meet on Friday night.

AEW Rampage preview – Saturday, April 22, Petersen Events Center, Pittsburgh (recorded on April 19)

Perhaps the most important thing to remember about AEW Rampage this week is that it’s not on Friday thanks to the NHL Playoffs. It will air on Saturday at 10 p.m. instead.

That’s pretty late on a different night, but AEW has a heck of a hook to try to get you to watch: El Hijo del Vikingo will defend his AAA Mega Championship against Dralistico. Yes, that’s an insane match to randomly throw on a show that’s on an unusual night, but don’t question it, just roll with it because it’s almost sure to be amazing.

Would a CM Punk AEW return make sense if he’s kept separate from The Elite?

Siloing CM Punk and The Elite away from each other could work, but it would be a risk for AEW.

There doesn’t appear to be much question that CM Punk wants to return to wrestling. He’s hinted at it repeatedly during the time that he’s been suspended from AEW following the legendarily infamous post-All Out brawl with The Elite, and FTR’s Dax Harwood, one of Punk’s closer friends on the roster, has said repeatedly that he misses wrestling and the fans.

The hope for many was that while there might be understandable long term grudges held over what happened last year, that everyone involved would out them aside for the sake of making money. Any angle that would see Punk and The Elite face off would figure to draw intense interest even from people who don’t regularly follow AEW, and Harwood has even suggested that Punk and FTR vs. The Elite would be perfect for the company’s upcoming arena show at London’s Wembley Stadium.

Still, there’s another possibility that might also work: What if Punk returns to AEW but is kept away from The Elite altogether?

That prospect was raised in the latest Punk update from Fightful Select (subscription required), which suggests that the wrestler himself would be up for it if that’s what it took.

Punk has also expressed his willingness to return to work for All Elite Wrestling and keep completely separate from the Elite along the way. There were some talent that were of the belief that the rumored upcoming Saturday AEW show could be used to help facilitate that with some separation to the AEW roster, but that’s not something higher ups in AEW have confirmed to us.

AEW has a roster big enough to pull this off, and the Saturday show Fightful alludes to has been rumored to be in the works for some time. Assuming it has a higher profile than Rampage (which currently isn’t that high a bar to clear), it could give both Punk and The Elite room to shine apart from each other. The benefits of getting a proven draw and merchandise mover like Punk back into the mix are pretty clear.

The downsides also seem obvious. Keeping the parties from the All Out brawl apart runs the risk of fracturing the AEW locker room and making wrestlers feel like they are picking a side. Is it worth it to take that chance while simultaneously knowing that the biggest money angle that could come from Punk’s return is off the table?

That’s just one of the facets AEW CEO and GM Tony Khan would have to ponder if he were to seriously entertain the idea. At age 44, Punk is running out of time for one last hurrah in the pro wrestling business. Some of that is his own fault, but now that it appears he wants to make it happen, the question of whether it will be beside the people that inspired him to air such public grievances at All Out remains one of the most intriguing in the industry, and will stay that way until it gets resolved.

AEW Dynamite results: House of Black spoils title bids by 2 of Winnipeg’s finest

AEW Dynamite results for March 15 from Winnipeg, with The Elite vs. Jericho Appreciation Society vs. House of Black for the Trios titles.

Winnipeggers, who you got: Chris Jericho or Kenny Omega? There’s no real wrong answer to that question as both are among the greats of pro wrestling, but it’s relevant because both men are front and center for a big match on tonight’s AEW Dynamite from Winnipeg.

And if you believe good things come in threes, then you’ll like this a lot: The Elite vs. Jericho Appreciation Society vs. House of Black for the AEW World Trios Championship. That’s a lot of star power in one title match, and it’s pretty darn cool to see big names going for trios gold. Alas, the House just won these belts and isn’t likely to give them up easily, plus we’re assuming their control over AEW’s lighting extends north of the border as well.

Orange Cassidy was a fighting All-Atlantic Champion, and will no doubt keep that same fighting spirit even though his title is now the International Championship. He’s got a veteran challenger in Jeff Jarrett, so it’s possible his reign with this incarnation of the championship might be a short one.

In contrast, MJF has made it clear he doesn’t expect to lose his beloved Triple B, better known as the AEW World Championship, any time soon. He’s not wrestling in Winnipeg, but he is having his re-bar mitzvah ceremony, so … yeah, there’s that.

Last but not least, no one has been bad enough to take the AEW TNBS Championship from undefeated Jade Cargill. She’s put out an open challenge to any Canadian woman to face her for the title tonight, meaning we could see someone who isn’t an AEW regular and will spice things up.

AEW Dynamite results in 90 seconds:

  • MJF is ready for his re-bar mitzvah, but Jack Perry, Sammy Guevara and Darby Allin all decide to crash it
  • Blackpool Combat Club def. Hangman Adam Page and Dark Order by submission
  • Juice Robinson brags about what he did to Ricky Starks and isn’t scared of any retaliation
  • Jade Cargill def. Nicole Matthews by pinfall in a Canadian Open Challenge for the AEW TNT Championship, then has a showdown with Taya Valkyrie
  • Starks says it’s easy to attack people from behind and mocks Juice for how long it’s been since Bullet Club has been relevant before saying they can fight any time, any place
  • The debut of QTV looks a lot like TMZ and mocks Wardlow with plenty of other wrestling references along the way … and reveals that QT Marshall masterminded the break-in to Wardlow’s car, not that that’s a shocker
  • Orange Cassidy def. Jeff Jarrett by pinfall to retain the AEW International Championship
  • Short promos are aired for all three teams in the Trios Championship match
  • The Acclaimed has a new song
  • The Outcasts brag about what they’ve done to the women’s division and take out Jamie Hayter and Britt Baker, but the arrival of Riho, Skye Blue and Willow Nightingale sends them into retreat
  • Matt Menard and Angelo Parker still claim they love rap music and still are incredulous about The Acclaimed turning down their JAS invitation
  • Rey Fenix is going to accept Powerhouse Hobbs’ open challenge for the TNT Championship
  • House of Black def. The Elite and Jericho Appreciation Society  to retain the AEW World Trios Championship
  • BCC and Dark Order fight their way to the ring, and when Page is alone, The Elite step in too … but the show goes off the air before we see if they’re going to back Page up

AEW Dynamite results: Orange Cassidy wins last ever All-Atlantic title match, Hobbs is golden

Get live AEW Dynamite results for March 8, 2023 in Sacramento, with two championship matches on the card.

If there’s a harder working champion in major pro wrestling right now than Orange Cassidy, we don’t know who it is. In stark contrast to his laidback vibe, Freshly Squeezed puts his All-Atlantic Championship on the line at just about every opportunity (he’s made 13 defenses since winning it last October), as he’ll do again tonight on AEW Dynamite from Sacramento.

What makes this time different is that it’s a rubber match of sorts. Jay Lethal has already had one crack at Cassidy’s title and came up short, but he also pinned Orange last August in their only other singles match. If Lethal can grab a victory on Dynamite, he’ll win not only the championship but also some bragging rights, and he’ll almost certainly have Jeff Jarrett, Satnam Singh and Sonjay Dutt in his corner to aid in that effort.

Another title is also on the line in Sacramento, as Wardlow squares off with Powerhouse Hobbs. Wardlow just reclaimed the TNT Championship at Revolution, and Hobbs won his shot in the Face of the Revolution ladder match just prior. Something obviously has to give in this battle of two very large, muscular men.

Other matches on this week’s Dynamite card include Blackpool Combat Club vs. Dark Order, Top Flight and AR Fox vs. the Jericho Appreciation Society, and Ruby Soho vs. Skye Blue. Plus we’ll hear from Hangman Adam Page for the first time since his brutal but triumphant Texas Death match with Jon Moxley at Revolution. Wonder if the cowboy has his eyes on a meeting with the world champ sometime soon …

AEW Dynamite results in 60 seconds:

  • Orange Cassidy def. Jay Lethal by pinfall to retain the AEW All-Atlantic Championship, then gets attacked by Jeff Jarrett afterward
  • Powerhouse Hobbs says it’s too bad Wardlow had his car broken into and his belt stolen, because tonight he’s going to take the only thing he has left way from him too when he wins the TNT title
  • Ricky Starks was having a hell of a week … until he gets laid out by Juice Robinson
  • Wardlow says since he doesn’t have his gear or the physical belt, why don’t they make his match with Hobbs Falls Count Anywhere, Anything Goes?
  • Renee Paquette asks Ruby Soho why, and she blames the fans
  • Ruby Soho def. Skye Blue by pinfall, then spray paints her and Willow Nightingale with help from Toni Storm and Saraya
  • Hangman Adam Page tells Paquette that his heart went black on Sunday not because he wanted it to but because he needed it to, and he apologizes to Renee for what she had to see while saying things are done between him and Jon Moxley
  • A bloody MJF is shown cutting a promo after his victory at Revolution, looking forward to his birthday on March 15 and his “re-Bar Mitzvah” in Winnipeg
  • Tony Schiavone spends some time in the ring with FTR, who really want, no need, to beat The Gunns
  • Jade Cargill tells Paquette there are no challenges left but wants the best possible opponent Canada has to offer next week
  • Jericho Appreciation Society (Chris Jericho, Sammy Guevara and Daniel Garcia) def. Top Flight and AR Fox by pinfall
  • The JAS makes its case for being the No. 1 contenders for the trios title, but The Elite has something to say about that, and the House of Black tells both teams to come get them
  • Tony Khan says Cassidy will face Jarrett next week, when the All-Atlantic Championship will “level up” to become the International Championship
  • Bryan Danielson cuts his own post-Revolution promo, saying that he tapped out because to keep fighting would have proved MJF right by putting himself before his family … and he says it’s time for him to go home
  • Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli def. Alex Reynolds and John Silver by submission, and Hangman Adam Page gets clobbered by the whole BCC when he tries to help his friends after the bell
  • The Acclaimed says they are on the road back to the tag team titles, and they laugh off a challenge from Matt Menard and Angelo Parker
  • Powerhouse Hobbs def. Wardlow  by 10 count in a Falls Count Anywhere match for the AEW TNT Championship, with some unexpected help from QT Marshall

AEW Revolution results: MJF outlasts Bryan Danielson in OT

Get live AEW Revolution results all night leading up to the main event 60-minute Iron Man match between MJF and Bryan Danielson.

Can AEW World Champion MJF go the distance with an opponent who is arguably the best wrestler on the planet?

All AEW pay-per-views have questions that are answered as the events unfold, but AEW Revolution 2023 has one that’s bigger than most. No one has any doubts about MJF as an entertainer, as his talent there is apparent. In the ring, he’s shown a lot so far as well.

But his prior work in AEW pales in comparison to what he’s about to do at the Chase Center in San Francisco. Bryan Danielson is quite simply a master of his craft, someone who has done and still can do it all in the ring.

Going an hour with the American Dragon is impressive enough. Winning? That might be something that changes opinions of MJF, even among people who still hate the character he portrays.

Even with that main event taking up a full hour, Revolution looks like much more than a one-match card. The women’s division will have an intriguing three-way battle for its top title when Jamie Hayter defends against both Saraya and Ruby Soho. The former is definitely an enemy, while the latter has been trying to avoid taking sides, but both will be stiff challenges.

The World Trios Championship and World Tag Team Championship will both be on the line at Revolution, as will the TNT Championship when Samoa Joe tries to hold off an angry Wardlow. “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry and Christian Cage will try to bury each other, perhaps literally. And Jon Moxley and Hangman Adam Page will go at it one more time in what promises to be a bloody Texas Death match.

AEW Revolution 2023 results:

  • Ricky Starks def. Chris Jericho by pinfall
  • “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry def. Christian Cage in The Final Burial
  • House of Black def. The Elite by pinfall to become the new AEW World Trios Champions
  • Jamie Hayter def. Saraya and Ruby Soho to retain the AEW Women’s Championship, with Soho choosing to side with Saraya and Toni Storm after the match
  • Hangman Adam Page def. Jon Moxley by submission in a Texas Death match
  • Wardlow def. Samoa Joe by submission to become the new AEW TNT Champion
  • The Gunns def. Jay Lethal and Jeff JarrettOrange Cassidy and Danhausen and The Acclaimed to retain the AEW World Tag Team Championship
  • FTR comes to the ring to brawl with The Gunns, hitting both of the champs with signature moves and picking up the tag team title belts
  • MJF def. Bryan Danielson 4-3 in sudden death of a 60-minute Iron Man match to retain the AEW World Championship

Please scroll down for more details on each match.

AEW Dynamite results: Hobbs grabs the ring, Danhausen is clutch, MJF is speechless

Get live AEW Dynamite results for March 1, 2023, with the Face of the Revolution Ladder Match and Casino Tag Team Battle Royale.

Sometimes AEW just mashes the gas ahead of a pay-per-view and it’s kind of bonkers for the better part of a week. That feeling is setting in again as the Cow Palace welcomes the final AEW Dynamite ahead of Revolution this weekend.

That card, as you might have heard, will be headlined by a 60-minute Iron Man match between MJF and Bryan Danielson with the former’s beloved Triple B belt (better known as the AEW World Championship) at stake. It’s only logical, then, that both men will be on tonight’s show to have what’s certain to be one more explosive face-to-face meeting before they go to war on Sunday.

There’s also going to be a wild match tonight that is usually part of Revolution proper. Perhaps because the main event is going an hour, the Face of the Revolution Ladder match got bumped to free TV. That’s good news for anyone tuning in tonight, however, as it’s sure to be something of a spectacle.

Another Revolution bout that still needs to have its last question mark replaced is the four-way tag team championship match. We’ll find out who’s joining The Gunns, The Acclaimed and Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett in that one after the Casino Tag Team Battle Royale on Dynamite.

Oh, and there are two championship matched tonight as well. Orange Cassidy gets a (very) big test in the form of Big Bill to retain his All-Atlantic Championship, while Hook puts his FTW Championship on the line against Matt Hardy.

AEW Dynamite results in 60 seconds:
