AEW Dynamite preview: Four Pillars fight, Trios Battle Royale

Will things with the other Pillars finally spiral out of control for MJF?

Happy Tres de Mayo! What do you mean that’s not a thing? AEW Dynamite says it is, so we’re rolling with it for tonight’s episode from Baltimore.

The true spirit of Tres will come to life in a Trios Battle Royale. Among the teams joining in the festivities are The Acclaimed and Daddy Ass; The Butcher, The Blade and Kip Sabian; The Dark Order; Powerhouse Hobbs and the QTV crew; and … checks notes … Lucha Bros. and El Hijo del Vikingo? Holy crap.

While that will be the biggest match of the night in terms of number of competitors, another one looms larger in the AEW World Championship picture. MJF has tried his best to arrange things so that only Sammy Guevara — whose friendship he’s tried to buy — would be in line for a championship opportunity.

But “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry and Darby Allin have persisted, and now they have a chance to turn the upcoming match at Double or Nothing into a four-way affair if they can defeat MJF and Sammy in a tag team match tonight. Got all that?

Singles matches? Dynamite will have a few of those as well. Saraya will take on Willow Nightingale in a bout both her Outcasts teammates and their enemies will be watching closely. And Ricky Starks will battle Juice Robinson, who almost certainly will have Bullet Club Gold teammate Jay White close at hand.

Plus we’ll hear from The Elite, who have more unfinished business with Blackpool Combat Club, to say the least.

All this plus probably some well deserved victory laps over AEW’s impressive advance ticket sales for All In London are set for tonight at 8 p.m. ET on TBS. Tune in or join us here at Wrestling Junkie tonight to see how everything plays out.
