LSU to host No. 1 safety in America for visit this weekend

The Tigers are hosting one of the best athletes in the 2025 class this weekend as they look to add to their top-five group.

LSU already has a 2025 recruiting class that ranks as high as No. 2 nationally, and coach [autotag]Brian Kelly[/autotag] is trying to make that group even stronger.

The Tigers will play host this weekend to one of the top defensive backs in the cycle as five-star [autotag]Jonah Williams[/autotag], the No. 1 safety in the country, will be in town for an official visit.

Williams ranks as the No. 10 player in the nation overall, and the Ball (Galveston, Tex.) product recently took an official visit to Texas A&M. Though he has visits set with Ohio State and Oregon as well later this month, he received a crystal ball prediction in favor of the Aggies after that trip.

Meanwhile, Oklahoma is considered the favorite per On3.

Williams is a two-way star, playing receiver and all over the defense. He also plays baseball for his high school as an outfielder and left-handed pitcher.

LSU already holds commitments from two of the top players at their position: quarterback [autotag]Bryce Underwood[/autotag], who is also the No. 1 overall prospect, and running back [autotag]Harlem Berry[/autotag]. If it could land a player like Williams, the Tigers could jump back to the top spot in the class rankings.

5-star WR Dakorien Moore set for LSU official visit despite decommitment

Despite decommitting last month, the Tigers are still in the mix for the No. 1 wideout in America.

LSU’s 2025 recruiting class is still ranked in the top five, but it took a major hit recently as five-star receiver [autotag]Dakorien Moore[/autotag], the top wideout in America, announced his decommitment.

Shortly after, he received multiple predictions to commit to Texas.

While the Tigers are not in the best spot for the Duncanville, Texas, prospect, they’re not out of the race entirely and will have the chance to make their case when he takes an official visit to Baton Rouge on June 7, per On3.

Moore also has official visits lined up in the next month with Ohio State this coming weekend, as well as Texas and Oregon after his trip to Baton Rouge.

The No. 3 overall player in the nation, Moore was committed to the Tigers for nearly 10 months from August 2023 until he decommitted on May 16. The Longhorns remain the favorite to land him, but LSU will hope to bring him back into the fold.

Texas is trending for five-star WR Jaime Ffrench

A recruiting prediction was entered in favor of Texas to land five-star WR Jaime Ffrench on Wednesday.

The Texas Longhorns might be the new leader for another five-star wide receiver. Jaime Ffrench joins Dakorien Moore as an elite receiver that could be leaning toward Texas.

Ffrench received an On3 RPM prediction from Inside Texas’ Justin Wells on Wednesday to choose the Longhorns. His impact could be immediate and unmistakable for his next team.

According to On3 Sports’ industry rankings, Ffrench is one of 32 players to receive a five-star designation. He ranks No. 19 overall.

Should he choose Texas alongside the nation’s No. 3 overall player in Dakorien Moore then its likely the Longhorns haven’t come close to their offensive ceiling for head coach Steve Sarkisian’s tenure in Austin.

The Longhorns have played the long game and won with five-star talents like left tackle Kelvin Banks, right guard DJ Campbell, edge rusher Colin Simmons, quarterback Arch Manning, defensive back Xavier Filsaime and wide receiver Ryan Wingo.

The current coaching staff’s confidence in winning recruitments by waiting on players who have later decisions has paid off in Sarkisian era. They will look to continue that trend in the 2025 recruiting cycle.

5-star receiver Dakorien Moore decommits from LSU

The Tigers suffered a major loss in their 2025 recruiting class on Thursday night.

The LSU Tigers have had a promising start to the 2025 recruiting class, but they suffered a tremendous loss from that group of commits on Thursday night.

[autotag]Dakorien Moore[/autotag], a five-star receiver from Duncanville, Texas, who ranks as the top wideout in the class decommitted from the Tigers, according to multiple reports.

Moore ranks as one of the best overall prospects in the 2025 class, sitting at No. 3 overall nationally, according to the 247Sports Composite. He has been committed to LSU since Aug. 12 of last year, and he was one of the key pieces in a recruiting class that ranked as high as No. 1 in the nation prior to his decommitment.

LSU still has quite a few promising pieces committed in the 2025 cycle, including No. 1 overall prospect quarterback [autotag]Bryce Underwood[/autotag] and top running back [autotag]Harlem Berry[/autotag].

With Moore decommitting, he received multiple Crystal Balls to in-state Texas, which seems to be the favorite to land him now.
