College Football Playoff: Clemson at Texas odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Clemson at Texas odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Clemson Tigers (10-3) and Texas Longhorns (11-2) meet in the first round of the College Football Playoff Saturday. Kickoff from Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium is scheduled for 4 p.m. ET (TNT / Max). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s college football odds around the Clemson vs. Texas odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Clemson, which is No. 13 in the US LBM Coaches Poll and the No. 12 seed in this tournament, is the champion of the ACC by way of a 34-31 triumph (as a +2.5 underdog) over SMU in that league’s title game Dec. 7. The Tigers, who rank 66th in FBS in total defense (364.9 yards per game), won that game despite being outgained by 132 yards. CU was a plus-2 in turnovers vs. the Mustangs and is a plus-7 since Nov. 9.

No. 4 Texas is the 5 seed in the national championship bracket. The Longhorns are the runners up of the SEC via a 22-19 loss to Georgia in the Dec. 7 championship game. UT was tabbed as a 3-point favorite in that contest and is just 1-3 against the spread (ATS) over its last 4 games.

Clemson at Texas picks and predictions

Prediction

Texas 31, Clemson 17

Moneyline

No interest. Lots of juice here, and that’s drowning out leverage on a Texas lean. AVOID.

Against the spread

The venue here matters. A lot.

The Texas defense has been really good all season. It has been especially stingy at DKR.

At home, UT has held foes to 17 points or fewer in 6 of 7 games. Against the pass — a big key against the throw-first Tigers, the Longhorns have allowed more than 200 yards in a home game once (and that was 211 yards Nov. 23 vs. Kentucky).

When the Longhorns have the ball, they should be able to leverage what has been an improving ground game against a CU defense which is better against the pass. As a success-rate matchup, the UT run game against the Tiger run defense is a separator.

Add in Texas being the better red-zone team, especially at the defensive end, where the Longhorns’ 46.4% touchdown-allowed percentage ranks 7th in the nation.

UT has a strong history in cranking out ATS wins when tabbed as a double-digit favorite. Looking for a 7-to-10-point lead by halftime and some ground-and-pound clocking of that edge in the second half.

BACK THE LONGHORNS -12.5 (-110).

Over/Under

The Under has cashed in 4 straight Texas games and is 7-1- in UT’s last 8. Clemson’s last 5 lined games have netted a 4-1 mark for the Under.

Both teams typically play uptempo, and this game does figure to have several touchdowns scored. The Tigers are also good at forcing turnovers which can often create short-field scoring opportunities.

But the counter for the Longhorns — and Under bettors — is UT’s red-zone defense and the team’s run game. And both against the pass and the run, the Longhorns are exceptional in thwarting explosive plays.

It’s a small-to-moderate lean (some bettors may prefer a partial-unit play here), but the UNDER 51.5 (-110) — price available on FanDuel Sportsbook — is the value side in this CFP battle.

New Orleans at Texas odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Thursday’s New Orleans at Texas odds and lines with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The New Orleans Privateers (2-7) face the Texas Longhorns (9-2) on Thursday. Tip-off from Moody Center is set for 8 p.m. ET (ESPN+). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s college basketball odds around the New Orleans vs. Texas odds, and make our expert college basketball picks and predictions.

New Orleans suffered its third consecutive loss 104-57 to the Iowa Hawkeyes on Sunday, failing to cover as 30.5-point underdogs as the Under 162.5 hit. The Privateers struggled to contain Iowa’s offense, as the Hawkeyes shot an impressive 62.7% (42-of-67) from the field. Senior G James White led New Orleans with a game-high 24 points.

Texas rebounded from its 76-65 loss to the No. 13 UConn Huskies on Dec. 8 with 2 straight wins, capped by a commanding 121-57 victory over the  Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions on Sunday. The Longhorns covered the 38.5-point spread and the over 160 hit. Their defense forced 22 turnovers, and all 5 starters scored in double figures. F Nic Codie came off the bench to lead the team with 20 points, showcasing their depth in the blowout win.

New Orleans at Texas picks and predictions

Prediction

Texas 108, New Orleans 63

Moneyline

PASS.

The Longhorns are such favorites that Vegas is not even offering moneyline odds for this game. Take your wager to the spread.

Against the spread

BET TEXAS -34.5 (-110).

This game is a clash of 2 teams on completely different levels. From talent to coaching, the gap is massive.

The Longhorns are heating up with 4 wins in their last 5 games, while the Privateers have dropped 4 of their last 5. Texas, hungry to get back into the Top 25, is led by star freshman Tre Johnson, who’s averaging 19.9 points per game (PPG).

New Orleans leans on guards James White and Jah Short, their only players averaging in double digits. Scoring just 67.1 PPG (285th in the country) while giving up 83.2 PPG (345th in the country), the Privateers struggle at both ends of the court.

It’s likely Texas hits the 100-point mark. KenPom rankings put New Orleans at No. 345 and Texas at No. 37, pointing to another blowout so expect a 40-to-50 point margin in favor of the Longhorns.

Over/Under

BET OVER 149.5 (-105).

This matchup feels similar to Sunday’s Iowa vs. New Orleans game, but this one should hit the Over. With the total set lower than Iowa’s 162.5, Texas is likely to break the century mark while New Orleans scores around 60. The Privateers’ defense has been a liability, giving up 90-plus points in 2 of their last 3 games. Meanwhile, Texas has scored 90-plus in 5 games this season. Expect plenty of scoring here.

UConn at Texas odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s UConn at Texas odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The UConn Huskies (6-3) face the Texas Longhorns (7-1) on Sunday. Tip-off from Moody Center is set for 5 p.m. ET (ESPN2). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s college basketball odds around the UConn vs. Texas odds, and make our expert college basketball picks and predictions.

UConn has found its groove after a tough Maui trip, securing back-to-back wins, including a 76-72 victory over the No. 16 Baylor Bears on Wednesday. The Huskies covered as 3.5-point home favorites, with the Over 144.5 cashing. Freshman F Liam McNeeley delivered a standout performance, posting 17 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 blocks. UConn also capitalized on Baylor’s mistakes, turning turnovers into 21 points to seal the win.

Texas extended its winning streak to 7 games with a 63-59 road victory over the NC State Wolfpack on Wednesday, covering as 2.5-point favorites while the Under 148 hit. Freshman G Tre Johnson broke a 57-57 tie with a clutch 3-pointer late in the game. He finished with 18 points, hitting 4-of-6 from beyond the arc. The Longhorns as a team were sharp from deep, shooting 47.1% (8 of 17).

UConn at Texas picks and predictions

Prediction

UConn 71, Texas 69

Moneyline

BET UCONN (+100).

UConn has had some struggles on the road early this season, especially after a humbling 3-game losing streak at the Maui Invitational. However, getting the 2-time defending National Champions at plus odds on the moneyline is hard to ignore.

These early-season losses can provide valuable lessons, and coach Dan Hurley is one of the best at adapting his team to the challenges they face. Texas will likely have the best player on the court in Johnson, but the key question is whether he can carry the Longhorns on his own.

UConn’s defense will aim to slow Johnson and force the supporting cast, like F Arthur Kaluma and F Kadin Shedrick, to play bigger roles. The Huskies are ranked 11th in Effective Field Goal Percentage (59.0%), and they’ve won 4 of the last 5 matchups against Texas. With Hurley’s leadership, expect UConn to bounce back strong.

Against the spread

PASS.

Not much of an advantage to take the point with the Huskies. I’ll keep my wager to the moneyline.

Over/Under

The trends here are a bit confusing. UConn has gone Over in 5 straight games, while Texas has hit the Under in 5 of their last 7 outings. In their last 5 meetings, the Over has hit 3 times. Both teams play at a slow pace—UConn ranks 274th and Texas 230th—but they still score 85 and 80 points per game, respectively.

With these mixed numbers, I’m choosing to PASS on this bet altogether.

SEC Championship Game: Georgia vs. Texas odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Georgia vs. Texas odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs (10-2, 6-2 SEC) take on the No. 2 Texas Longhorns (11-1, 7-1) in the SEC Championship Game at Mercedez-Benz Stadium in Atlanta Saturday. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. ET (ABC). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s college football odds around the Georgia vs. Texas odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Bulldogs had their eyes opened and fortitude tested as they needed 8 overtimes to take down Georgia Tech 44-42 Nov. 29. The Dogs failed to cover as 17-point favorites to cap off a 3-9 season against the spread (ATS). Georgia went 6-2 in SEC play, losing at the Ole Miss Rebels 28-12 and at the Alabama Crimson Tide 41-34.

The Longhorns finished up with an impressive 17-7 win over Texas A&M Nov. 30, covering as 4.5-point favorites. Texas went 7-5 ATS during the regular season and 7-1 in the conference. The Longhorns’ only loss was to these Bulldogs, at home, in a 30-15 setback Oct. 19 as 4-point favorites.

Georgia QB Carson Beck threw 3 INTs, but RB Trevor Etienne ran in 3 TDs. Texas didn’t score a point until the second half and were down 23-0 at the break. QB Quinn Ewers was 25-for-43 for 211 yards, 2 TDs and 1 INT. He lost 2 fumbles, though.

Georgia vs. Texas picks and predictions

Prediction

Georgia 24, Texas 21

Moneyline

Etienne is listed as questionable with a rib injury, and he has missed 3 straight games. He has been limited in practice this week, but this feels like a situation that he was held out in order to be ready for this one. If the Longhorns lose this game, they can probably still get in the college playoff. However, it’s probably lights out for the Bulldogs if they don’t win.

With this game being in Atlanta, that motivation for the Bulldogs, and the previous win by them, I like Georgia here. Texas has a little bit of a quarterback controversy with Arch Manning mixing in the offense, and Ewers averaged just 195 yards passing the last 3 games.

Take GEORGIA +125.

Against the spread

Since we’re going with the value at the ML, forget the spread. Instead, take QUINN EWERS UNDER 233.5 YARDS PASSING (-115). He has not eclipsed this moderate number in 6 of his last 8 games.

Play our free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under

Texas is 3-6-1 O/U in its last 10, and Georgia is 6-4. These teams have met twice since 2019; both went Under and had fewer than 51 total points scored.

I look for a tightly contested matchup where the run game will be key.

Take the UNDER 50.5 (-115).

Texas at Texas A&M odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Texas at Texas A&M odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The No. 3 Texas Longhorns (10-1, 6-1 SEC) visit the No. 19 Texas A&M Aggies (8-3, 5-2 SEC) on Saturday in the latest edition of this storied in-state rivalry. Kickoff from Kyle Field in College Station is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET (ABC/ESPN). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s college football odds around the Texas vs. Texas A&M odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

This final-week matchup of ranked teams in the US LBM Coaches Poll also will determine who will face No. 6 Georgia in the SEC Championship Game. These long-time foes reunite on the field after A&M left thr Bg 12 for the SEC in 2012 and the Longhorns followed them last offseason.

Texas leads the all-time series 76-37-5. They last played in 2011, with Texas winning 27-25 on the road.

QB Quinn Ewers is expected to suit up despite sustaining an ankle injury during a 31-14 win over the Kentucky Wildcats last week. The Longhorns’ offense has lagged since his Week 7 return after a 2-game injury absence.

Still, the unit has done enough to rattle off a 4-game win streak since losing to Georgia — especially since Texas boasts the nation’s third-ranked scoring defense (12.1 PPG).

The Aggies’ quadruple-overtime 43-41 loss last week to the Auburn Tigers dealt a huge blow to their chances at an at-large College Football Playoff berth. However, they remain a threat to sneak into the conference championship matchup with an upset.

Texas at Texas A&M picks and predictions

Prediction

Texas 27, Texas A&M 23

Moneyline

Texas’ defensive advantage should be the tipping point, though the -225 vig factors that in.

Find more advantageous ways to back a Longhorns win.

PASS.

Against the spread

Betting A&M to hang with the talented Texas defense probably reads as risky on paper, but the run game could be the way forward for the home team.

Expect A&M to ride its ground game with QB Marcel Reed and RB Amari Daniels, who’s filled in well with RB Le’Veon Moss (leg) out for the season.

BET TEXAS A&M +5.5 (-110).

Over/Under

The Aggies’ middling defense should get Ewers and the Longhorns right on the offensive side.

While the value isn’t incredible, I lean toward the schools topping the total. Texas A&M is 4-1 on the Over over its past 5 games and 7-4 on the year, so expect the home team to keep pace.

BET OVER 48.5 (-105).

Kentucky at Texas odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Kentucky at Texas odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Kentucky Wildcats (4-6, 1-6 SEC) and No. 3 Texas Longhorns (9-1, 5-1) meet Saturday. Kickoff from DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET (ABC/ESPN+). Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s college football odds around the Kentucky vs. Texas odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Wildcats picked up a 48-6 non-conference game against Murray State to cover as a 41.5-point favorite as the Under (54.5) also hung on. That halted a 4-game losing streak, while going 1-3 against the spread (ATS) in the skid. The Under has cashed in 4 of the previous 6 outings.

The Longhorns doubled up Arkansas 20-10 on the road last weekend, but Texas failed to cover as a 12.5-point favorite as the Under (56.5) cashed. Texas has won 3 in a row since its lone loss, 30-15, against Georgia Oct. 19 at the DKR. The Under is 3-1-1 in the past 5 outings for the Longhorns.

Kentucky at Texas picks and predictions

Prediction

Texas 41, Kentucky 17

Moneyline

Texas (-1450) would cost you nearly 15 times your potential return, and there is never a reason to bet such a heavy favorite, either straight up or as part of a multi-leg parlay.

PASS.

Against the spread

Play TEXAS -18.5 (-110) to lay the big points, but be careful. The Longhorns are just 2-4 ATS in the past 6 outings since Sept. 28, and only 2-3 ATS in the past 5 tries as a double-digit favorite. On the plus side, this line has come down 2 points this morning.

However, while Kentucky +18.5 (-110) has cashed in the past 2 games, it is just 2-3 ATS in the past 5 outings. The Wildcats just have a poor offense, and they rely too heavily on their defense. Texas should be able to pile up plenty of points against Kentucky at home, especially down the stretch, as style points matter.

Over/Under

OVER 46.5 (-115) is worth a look in this SEC battle in Austin.

The Over has cashed in each of the past 2 road games for Kentucky, while allowing 20 or more points in 4 of the past 5 outings.

It’s risky playing Texas, as the Under is 4-1-1 in the past 6 outings. The Longhorns showed plenty of muscle with 49 points against Florida 2 weeks ago, for instance. Expect that kind of performance at home yet again.

Texas vs. Syracuse odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Thursday’s Texas vs. Syracuse odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Texas Longhorns (3-1) and the Syracuse Orange (3-0) meet Thursday at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (ESPN2). Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s college basketball odds around the Texas vs. Syracuse odds, and make our expert college basketball picks and predictions.

The Longhorns have won 3 straight games since an 80-72 setback in Las Vegas against the Ohio State Buckeyes in the opener when Texas was a 1.5-point favorite. Texas has scored 89 or more points in each of the past 3 games in wins over Houston Christian, Chicago State and Mississippi Valley State, covering the past 2 outings.

The Orange haven’t exactly faced a gauntlet, posting wins over Le Moyne, Colgate and Youngstown State, and Syracuse is 0-3 against the spread (ATS) in those games. Last time out against the YSU Penguins, the Orange picked up a 104-95 win in double-overtime, as J.J. Starling rolled for 38 points.

Texas vs. Syracuse picks and predictions

Prediction

Texas 79, Syracuse 73

Moneyline

Texas (-600) will cost you 6 times your potential return, and that’s way too much risk for not nearly enough reward at this point. Plus, this game is being played in Brooklyn, which is a quick trip from Syracuse (+430). Look for the Orange having plenty of support in the stands to spur them on. Still, the Horns should be able to scratch out a win.

PASS.

Against the spread

Back SYRACUSE +10.5 (-110) catching double digits. Again, the Orange should have a significant crowd presence to give them some energy. Texas -10.5 (-110) isn’t likely to travel nearly as well for such an unimportant neutral-floor game so far from home.

Texas should be able to get the job done, but look for the win to be by single digits only.

Over/Under

UNDER 154.5 (-110) is the lean, but go with a half-unit play at most.

The Under has cashed in just 1 of 3 games for Syracuse. It is a little concerning that the Orange have allowed 82 or more points in 2 of 3 games to date.

For Texas, it has split the Over-Under 2-2 in 4 outings, although the Over did hit in its only previous neutral-floor battle.

Texas at Arkansas odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Texas at Arkansas odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The 3rd-ranked Texas Longhorns (8-1, 4-1 SEC) and Arkansas Razorbacks (5-4, 3-3) meet Saturday. Kickoff from Razorback Stadium in Fayetteville, Ark., is scheduled for noon ET (ABC / ESPN+). Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s college football odds around the Texas vs. Arkansas odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Longhorns head to Arkansas for this old Southwest Conference matchup. Arkansas has won the past 2 meetings in this series, with the most recent victory coming 40-21 as a 6.5-point underdog Sept. 11, 2021. The last time the Longhorns topped the Hogs was Sept. 27, 2008, at the DKR.

Texas worked over Florida 49-17 last weekend in Austin, cashing as a 23-point favorite. In 3 games off campus, either in a true road game or neutral-site affair, the Longhorns are 3-0 straight up (SU) and 2-1 against the spread (ATS), with the total going 1-1-1 in those outings.

Arkansas needs 1 more win in the next 3 outings to become bowl eligible. It is concerning that the Hogs were pounded 63-31 at home against Ole Miss last time out on Nov. 2 as an 8-point underdog.

The Razorbacks are just 2-3 SU in the past 5 games, while failing to cover 2 of the previous 3 outings. The Over has hit in back-to-back games for the first time since the total went high in 3 straight to open the season.

Texas at Arkansas picks and predictions

Prediction

Texas 37, Arkansas 16

Moneyline

Texas (-530) will cost you more than 5 times your potential return, and that’s way too much risk for not enough reward.

Arkansas (+390) showed too many holes against Ole Miss last week, exposing so many weaknesses. The Razorbacks just don’t have the offense to hang with the ‘Horns.

AVOID.

Against the spread

Back TEXAS -12.5 (-115) on the road, and look for the Longhorns to win this one going away.

Arkansas +12.5 (-105) is 2-0 ATS this season as a double-digit underdog this season, including a 19-14 outright win over Tennessee Oct. 15. While that was certainly impressive, losses in the 2 most recent home games against LSU and Ole Miss by 24 or more points is not.

Over/Under

UNDER 57.5 (-110) is a strong play despite the fact the Over has connected in 2 in a row for Arkansas.

The Under is 4-2 in the past 6 outings for the Razorbacks, while going 2-1 in the past 3 home games.

For the Longhorns, the total has gone low at a 3-1-1 clip in the past 5 outings, while allowing 17 or fewer points in 7 of 9 games this season.

Chicago State at Texas odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s Chicago State at Texas odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Chicago State Cougars (0-2) visit the Texas Longhorns (1-1) Tuesday in non-league action in Austin. Tip-off at the Moody Center will tip off at 8 p.m. ET (ESPN+).Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s college basketball odds around the Chicago State vs. Texas odds, and make our expert college basketball picks and predictions.

Chicago State was winless in a 2-game opening week. The Cougars last played Saturday, dropping an 80-60 home game against Youngstown State as 5.5-point underdogs. CSU shot just 31.1% from the floor in that game. The Cougars allowed 17 offensive rebounds.

Texas, which was ranked as a preseason top-25 in the USA TODAY Sports Men’s Basketball Coaches Poll, lost its Nov. 4 season opener against Ohio State 80-72 and then earned its first win with a 90-59 win over Houston Christian, covering a 33.5-point spread. The Longhorns struggled to get separation in the first half of that game, but they opened the second stanza with a 24-2 run.

Chicago State at Texas picks and predictions

Prediction

Texas 84, Chicago State 60

Moneyline

No interest. PASS.

Against the spread

Texas went 2-7 ATS across its first 9 games last season. The Longhorns’ last opponent (Houston Christian) figures as similar in talent to CSU, and Texas required a late run to pull away in that game. UT led by 7 at the half and 21 at the 10-minute mark of the second period.

The youthful Cougars do have some size and did acquit themselves well in an opening-night ATS win over Loyola-Chicago (a 79-72 loss).

BACK CHICAGO STATE +27.5 (-110).

Over/Under

Despite a mid-to-fast pace of play, Texas has finished among conference leaders in defensive scoring average each of the last 2 seasons. Coach Rodney Harris appears to often use mismatches in talent to really work the UT defense and game-control an opponent to death.

Over its last 20 games when the Longhorns are favored by 20-plus points, the Under has gone 12-5-3. Against a very young Chicago State team that could hit a bit of a wall on its first real road trip, the UNDER 146.5 (-110) is the value play here. The margin is small however: consider a partial-unit play.

Florida vs. Texas odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Florida at Texas odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Florida Gators (4-4, 2-3 SEC) and the No. 5 Texas Longhorns (7-1, 3-1) meet at DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium Saturday. Kickoff is at noon ET (ABC). Below, we look at Florida vs. Texas odds from BetMGM Sportsbook’s college football odds and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Florida lost 34-20 at the No. 2 Georgia Bulldogs last Saturday, but covered as a 14.5-point underdog while the Over (52.5) cashed. Powered by 2  interceptions the Gators led 13-6 at the half, but the Bulldogs took control in the second half, outscoring UF 14-0 in the third quarter and 14-7 in the fourth. RBs Ja’Kobi Jackson and Jadan Baugh combined for 138 yards and a TD, providing a bright spot in the loss.

Texas bounced back from a tough 30-15 loss to Georgia on Oct. 19) to edge  Vanderbilt Commodores 27-24 on the road in Week 10. The Longhorns failed to cover as 17-point favorites while the O/U (51) pushed. QB Quinn Ewers threw for 288 yards with 3 TDs, but he had 2 INTs. The defense played a vital role in the victory, forcing 3 turnovers.

Florida vs. Texas picks and predictions

Prediction

Texas 35, Florida 10

Moneyline

PASS.

Texas (-2500) will win this game, but obviously, you are not going to bet $2,500 to win $100 in return. Look to the spread and/or total.

Against the spread

BET TEXAS -21.5 (-110).

After a 3-point win over Vanderbilt and a 15-point loss to Georgia, Texas comes off a bye week looking to solidify its playoff spot. Their remaining schedule is tough, starting with the home matchup against Florida before facing the Arkansas Razorbacks, Kentucky Wildcats, and Texas A&M Aggies. Florida has a question at QB as freshman DJ Lagway (hamstring) is likely out. With Texas averaging 37.6 points per game and boasting the nation’s second-ranked defense (11.1 PPG), the Longhorns have a strong chance to cover the 3-TD spread against Florida’s vulnerable defense (381 yards per game allowed and 24.9 PPG allowed).

Over/Under

BET UNDER 47.5 (-110).

Expect Texas to continue its recent trend of Unders, with 3 straight Unders and 1 push. The 47.5 total reflects confidence that Florida’s offense may struggle to put up points. Texas’ recent posted totals averaged 54.3, while Florida’s were 52.5, so this lower line suggests a tough outing for the Gators.

Texas’ defense is primed to dominate, as shown when they allowed under 7 points across a 4-game stretch last month, even holding Oklahoma to 3. Florida could be in for a rough outing against this lockdown unit.
