The No. 1-ranked prospect in the 2027 class enjoyed his visit to Texas A&M

2027 5-star EDGE Richard Wesley recently visited the Aggies, including attending Texas A&M basketball’s win over LSU

Texas A&M coach Mike Elko and his staff have been building up the 2026 recruiting class. They recently visited three priority prospects in the cycle, including five-star offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell, five-star athlete Brandon Arrington, and four-star cornerback Dorian Barney this week.

Last weekend, it was reported that the No. 1-ranked prospect in the early stages of the 2027 recruiting cycle, five-star edge Richard Wesley, visited Texas A&M for the first time. While the football season is over, the Chatsworth, California native attended the Aggies’ basketball game vs. LSU on Saturday night.

In an interview with GigEm247’s Andrew Hattersley, Wesley enjoyed watching the Aggies defeat the Tigers. Still, his tour of Kyle Field and understanding of the development trajectory the program has built at the defensive end/EDGE position stood out the most.

“The massive stadium stood out to me and how they are developing great prospects in my position stood out to me”

Standing at 6-5 and 250 pounds, Wesley is developing into an elite pass rusher, and has been compared to former Oregon Duck and current New York Giants edge Kayvon Thibodeaux.

Wesley’s memorable 2023 freshman season led to 50 tackles, 9.5 sacks, and 11.5 tackles for loss, as the sky is truly the limit for an elite prospect who will likely end up as the No. 1-ranked prospect in the class.

2026 4-star SF enjoyed his visit to Texas A&M during the Aggies’ win over LSU

2026 4-star wing T.J. Crumble see’s a future with Texas A&M after his weekend visit

No. 13 Texas A&M (14-4, 3-2 SEC) won its first game in over a week against LSU, defeating the visiting Tigers 68-57. The team used an impressive second-half offensive surge and shut down defensive effort to force 18 turnovers and limit the visitors to a season-low in points.

While the return of star guard Wade Taylor IV was the primary talking point, coach Buzz Williams knew that impressing one of the program’s visiting prospects was also a goal on the night. Taking a weekend visit while attending the game, 2026 four-star small forward T.J. Crumble left College Station with a good impression, according to his post on X:

“Had an amazing official visit at Texas A&M this weekend! Thank you to all of the staff for making this a great weekend for me and my family💯

On the court, Crumble has solidified himself as one of the top rebounders and defenders in the cycle. At the same time, his shooting and overall offensive profile have improved heading into his senior season at Richmond Heights HS in Cleveland, Ohio.

In an interview with recruiting insider Kannon Torres, Crumble detailed why he’s considering the Aggies:

“The team plays as a whole. They play very hard, play fast; and have great chemistry together and that’s something I could see myself being a part of”

According to 247Sports, Crumble is currently positioned as the 91st-ranked prospect in the 2026 cycle, the 16th-ranked power forward, and the 3rd-ranked prospect in Ohio.

2025 5-star Texas A&M signee is healthy and ready to play next season

2025 5-star wide receiver and Texas A&M signee Jerome Myles is reportedly healthy and will join the Aggies later this year

Texas A&M’s 2025 recruiting class finished as the 7th-ranked cycle after coach Mike Elko and his staff landed two five-star prospects, led by offensive tackle Lamont Rogers and wide receiver Jerome Myles, who both flipped from Missouri and USC late in the process.

While Rogers is ready to go this spring, Myles, the only signee not set to make it to campus this winter, was previously dealing with an injury that hindered his readiness to practice.

However, according to Rivals Texas A&M insider Landyn Rosow, Myles is set to run track in Draper, Utah, this spring and will be ready to join the Aggies this summer to prepare for the 2025 football season.

Rosow also noted that if Myles had not sustained his injury during his final high school season, he would have joined the program this spring, answering the question that confused some fans after he officially signed with the Aggies early last month.

In just two games into his senior season, Myles recorded nine receptions, 246 yards, and four touchdowns.

Here are the 2026 and 2027 prospects visiting Texas A&M on Saturday

Here are the recruiting prospects currently visiting Texas A&M on Saturday

This offseason is a busy one for Texas A&M coach Mike Elko. The Aggies are looking to make headway with the 2026 and 2027 recruiting cycles, and he and his coaching staff are currently hosting a talented list of prospects and several transfer portal veterans.

When Mike Elko took over the program, some questioned if the long-time defensive coordinator could match former head coach Jimbo Fisher’s recruiting success. Still, after landing the 7th-ranked 2025 class, doubts about his ability to sell the program have been squashed.

After hosting the No. 1 and 2-ranked offensive tackles during the program’s first junior day of the offseason last weekend, a handful of five-star prospects from the 2026 and 2027 classes have descended on College Station for Saturday’s second junior day.

2026 4-star QB out of Cocoa (FL) has flipped from Michigan to Texas A&M

Brady Hart will reclassify to the 2025 class and sign with the Aggies next week

Texas A&M and head coach Mike Elko have landed its quarterback in the 2025 recruiting class after losing 5-star QB Husan Longstreet to USC earlier this month, as former Michigan commit and 4-star quarterback Brady Hart will sign with the Aggies early next week.

While this is certainly related to 2025 5-star QB Bryce Underwood’s shocking flip from LSU to Michigan, Hart has been on the Aggies’ radar for quite some time, while Longstreet’s departure has now been solved looking ahead to the 2025 season.

Standing at 6-4 and 180 pounds, Hart can sling it. He possesses pinpoint accuracy and touch, and his arm strength will continue to develop at the next level. Hart, the son of a former MLB pitcher, is a pure gamer with plenty of confidence and swagger to diagnose any defense, as the junior threw for 3,759 yards and 41 touchdowns during his 2023 sophomore season.

According to 247Sports Composite, Hart is currently positioned as the 98th-ranked prospect in the 2026 class, the 6th-ranked quarterback, and the 17th-ranked prospect in Florida.

Here are the recruits set to visit Texas A&M vs. Bowling Green this weekend

Here are the 2025, 2026, and 2027 recruits who will attend Texas A&M vs. Bowling Green

Texas A&M (2-1, 1-0 SEC) is headed back to Kyle Field for the third time this season, as the Aggies will host Bowling Green (1-1), who is coming off a bye week after losing a close game to Penn State 34-27 inside a packed Beaver Stadium.

After defeating Florida 33-20 last Saturday, head coach Mike Elko has a decision to make on Saturday afternoon, as backup quarterback Marcel Reed’s impressive outing against the Gators was only possible due to starting quarterback Conner Weigman’s shoulder injury.

After Wednesday’s practice, Weigman’s shoulder has slowly progressed but will continue to be day-to-day until further notice, vaulting Reed back into the starting conversation every Saturday. Whoever starts against the Falcons will be playing in front of a packed Kyle Field, along with a long list of 2025, 2026, and 2025 recruits, including several commits.

Following 247Sports’ Andrew Hattersley, here are the prospects who will attend the game on Saturday night.

2025 prospects:

  • 2025 4-star cornerback and Texas A&M commit Detjhon Pettaway
  • 2025 4-star cornerback and Texas A&M commit Cobey Sellers
  • 2025 3-star offensive tackle and Texas A&M commit Tyler Thomas
  • 2025 4-star defensive lineman and Texas A&M commit Chace Sims

2026 prospects:

  • 2026 kicker/punter Ethan Guillen
  • 2026 quarterback Garrett Barham
  • 2026 4-star wide receiver Jabari Brady
  • 2026 4-star defensive lineman Tajh Overton
  • 2026 4-star defensive lineman Bryce Perry-Wright

After 2024 5-Star ATH Terry Bussey’s signing, here are Texas A&M’s Top 10 All-Time commits

After 2024 5-Star athlete Terry Bussey’s signing, where does he rank among Texas A&M’s Top 10 All-Time commitments?

Texas A&M’s 2024 recruiting class is now complete, as head coach Mike Elko finished things out during Wednesday’s National Signing Day, headlined by the signing of long-time commit, 5-star athlete Terry Bussey, followed by 3-star offensive tackle Robert Bourdon and 4-star wide receiver Ashton Belton-Roman.

Finishing with the now 16th-ranked recruiting class according to 247Sports, Elko has already proven this recruiting prowess after two solid seasons as Duke’s head coach and his four seasons as A&M’s defensive coordinator under Jimbo Fisher have aided in his success in developing lasting relationships.

Terry Bussey’s signing is by far one of the program’s most significant recruiting victories for any head coach, as the No. 1-ranked athlete in the class has a chance to have a Travis Hunter-like collegiate career as Elko recently stated that he will start out as a cornerback, but receive snaps on offense throughout his Aggie career.

“For us, he’s going to come in at corner, but he’ll certainly have a role with the ball in his hand in the return game and as a specialist in some situations.”

So, where does Bussey stand among Texas A&M’s All-Time high school commitments? Here are the Top 10 prospects to sign with Texas A&M over the last two decades, per 247Sports.

4-star defensive end Lugard Edokpayi unveils his top 5

Lugard Edokpayi has an official top five.

Lugard Edokpayi has announced his top five as the four-star defensive lineman from Maryland is looking to wind down his recruitment.

A 6-foot-6, 215-pound prospect from Bishop McNamara (District Heights, Maryland), he is an outstanding athlete. Edokpayi is a two-way player who plays the rare dual roles of wide receiver and defensive end. He also plays basketball as a forward.

According to ESPN, he is a four-star recruit as a defensive end. On3 ranks him as No. 28 player in the nation.

This week, he announced a top five of Florida State, Maryland, Minnesota, Rutgers and Texas A&M.

On Saturday, he took a visit to Rutgers for their game against No. 1 Ohio State.

As a prospect, Edokpayi is wildly athletic. A former basketball player, he has very strong footwork. His length and explosiveness make him intriguing as a prospect and he has big upside potential at the Power Five level.

Four-star Eddy Pierre-Louis announces an impressive final five

Eddy Pierre Louis is down to a final five.

Eddy Pierre-Louis has announced his top five, with the Florida offensive lineman including several prominent programs in his final cutdown.

A four-star recruit according to ESPN and Rivals, Pierre-Louis is a monster offensive tackle prospect from Tampa Catholic (Tampa, Florida). He moves very well for checking in at 6-foot-3 and 315 pounds, finishing off his blocks to the whistle.

Rivals ranks him as the second-best guard prospect in the nation and the No. 26 recruit overall.

The final five from Pierre-Louis includes Miami, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Central Florida and Oregon.

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediciton Machine, UCF is a near lock to land Pierre-Louis at 87.1 percent. Florida, who didn’t make the player’s cutdown, is second at 4.9 percent.

Oklahoma is third at 1.6 percent.

This offseason, Pierre-Louis has done a nice job of reshaping his body. He cut weight and is looking lighter on his feet.

And to that end, check out this video of Pierre-Louis running track this spring for Tampa Catholic.

Unreal.

How does Texas A&M’s recruiting spending compare to other Power Five schools?

In USA TODAY’s ranking of the top Power Five schools in college football recruiting budgets, the Aggies finished among the top spenders over the last six years.

In the landscape of college football, you’ll only be as good as the talent on the field. The most innovative coaches and high-end facilities will only take you so far, as it’s the players on the field that truly move the needle. If you want the best recruits, you better be prepared to invest, or so the saying goes.

USA TODAY Sports recently put that belief to the test, as they ranked each Power Five school by the amount of money they’ve invested in their recruiting efforts since 2017. While this list excluded some private schools in their data, you don’t need to be an expert to properly guess who rounds out at the top.

Georgia, Alabama, and Tennessee ranked as the top three schools in recruiting spending and were the only three programs to allocate over $10 million in total to their efforts. Not far below was Texas A&M, who ranked fifth with roughly $9.4 million total dedicated to recruiting spending in the last six years.

That gives the SEC a total of four schools in the top 10 in recruiting spending in the last few years, and once Texas joins the conference in 2024, it will equate to half of those programs hailing from one conference alone. Interestingly enough, Ohio State did not crack the top 10 despite all their success in recruiting. The Buckeyes spent less than the likes of FloridaOregonLSUAuburn, and even Rutgers.

Truth be told, it’s not a shock that the Bulldogs and Crimson Tide are among the Power Five’s leaders in spending. After all, these are two programs that are regularly in the College Football Playoff conversation and are seemingly annual contenders for the national championship.

The school that will continue to draw conversation among this list, of course, is the Maroon and White.

The 2021 recruiting cycle played a major factor in A&M’s ranking in the top five schools in spending after the Aggies dedicated $691,591 to help land the best recruiting class. Of course, like in any business decision, you need to see the return on that investment and last year’s 5-7 regular season campaign was underwhelming nonetheless.

Couple last year’s performance with the amount of money being paid to Jimbo Fisher, and you get an equal amount of media coverage focused on the Aggies’ financials as their play on the gridiron.

But last year’s struggles could prove to be this year’s triumphs, as another year of experience for that top recruiting class should amount to a promising 2023 season for the Aggies. It pays to have the best talent on the field, and the truth of the matter is that this A&M roster is much too talented to put together back-to-back disappointing seasons.

As the saying goes, you need to spend money to make money. Or in the case of these Power Five schools, you need to spend money to get wins. This list only shows that the Aggies are committed to recruiting top talent in order to translate to success on the field.
