4-star OT Robert Bourdon follows head coach Mike Elko from Duke and signs with Texas A&M

“A kid that we were very familiar with, had committed to coach Cushing and I back at Duke, decided to postpone his signing,” Mike Elko said.

After decommitting from Duke on Jan. 22, 4-star offensive tackle Robert Bourdon followed head coach Mike Elko to College Station as he immediately chose Texas A&M and made the choice official on Wednesday.

“Robbie Bourdon is an offensive lineman from Collierville High School in Collierville, Tennessee,” Elko said at his press conference Wednesday afternoon. “Obviously, a kid that we were very familiar with, had committed to coach Cushing and I back at Duke, decided to postpone his signing in December, we were able to get him out in January for a visit and able to get that one over the line.

“I think he’s an extremely athletic offensive lineman, he’s a lacrosse player, has really good feet, has a really big frame and I think he projects to be a really good offensive tackle for us, so really excited for that.”

Bourdon is 6-foot-6 and 292 pounds. He had 27 total offers, six campus visits and two coach visits. On Feb. 2, Bourdon posted a photo to X of him with Elko, offensive line coach Adam Cushing and associate head coach & running backs coach Trooper Taylor.

The Tennessee native is one of three players signed by Texas A&M on national signing day 2024 along with 5-star athlete Terry Bussey and 4-star wide receiver Ashton Bethel-Roman.

With national signing day underway, many prospects around the country have been choosing their future homes and Texas A&M signed a big-time playmaker today.

4-star wide receiver Ashton Bethel-Roman chose to continue his football career in Bryan College Station with the Aggies. On3 Sports national recruiting expert Sam Spiegelman predicted the signing on Tuesday and nailed it.

Report: 5-star commit Terry Bussey swaps LSU visit for Georgia before visiting Texas A&M this weekend

Per Glen West of 247Sports, Bussey will no longer host the Tigers for a visit and instead will host Georgia before visiting College Station.

2024 5-star athlete and Texas A&M hard-commit Terry Bussey has reportedly swapped an upcoming home visit with one SEC school for another.

According to Glen West, the LSU beat writer for 247Sports, Bussey will no longer host the Tigers for a home visit and instead will host Georgia before visiting College Station for his final visit this upcoming weekend. However, LSU does remain in the mix for his services, per West.

Sam Spiegelman of On3 Sports reported Thursday that the Aggies and Tigers are Bussey’s final two after receiving 30 offers and taking a total of five visits respectively to Texas A&M, Alabama, LSU, Oklahoma and Texas.

The 5-foot-10.5, 180-pound playmaker from Timpson High School in Texas committed to the Aggies way back on Sept. 28, during the previous regime under Jimbo Fisher. Despite the change in leadership, Bussey has remained committed to Aggieland.

“I’ve been getting to know the new staff,” Bussey told On3 earlier this month. “It’s been great building a relationship with coach Elko, coach (Ishmael Aristide) and I’m building relationships with other coaches they already have on staff. They’re great guys, great people, they know a lot about football and they’re great football-minded people.”

According to On3, Bussey is currently positioned as the 30th-ranked player in the 2024 class, the No. 1-ranked athlete, and the 8th-ranked player in Texas.

According to an Aggies news release, the council will meet to discuss agenda items that include a meeting with SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey, a review of NCAA and SEC legislative items, a conversation with SEC Chief Medical Advisor Dr. Katie O’Neal and engagement with football officials on rules of the game, student-athlete/referee interaction and careers in officiating. How to watch the Texas A&M participants in the Reese’s Senior Bowl

Here are all the details and how to watch this weekend’s Reese’s Senior Bowl, which includes three former Texas A&M standouts.

As they say, the NFL Draft starts in Mobile, Alabama, as the annual Reese’s Senior Bowl is set to take place this Saturday, with plenty on the line for each participant’s professional football future. All 32 NFL Team representatives will attend to watch one of the more talent-rich rosters in the event’s history.

For Texas A&M, three players, including wide receiver Ainias Smith, defensive lineman McKinnley Jackson, and offensive lineman Layden Robinson, will represent the program as the three veterans looking to make their mark at the next level.

Outside of the Aggie representatives, notable players such as the quarterback trio of Michael Penix Jr, Bo Nix, and Sam Hartman will all attempt to wow scouts with the National Team. At the same time, the offensive line and defensive line rotations on both sides are chock-full of future first, second and third-round picks in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft.

Here is how you can watch the game for all three Texas A&M players this Saturday.

Texas A&M HC Mike Elko recently paid a visit to 2025 4-Star CB Chuck McDonald out of Mater Dei (CA)

Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko recently visited 2025 4-star cornerback Chuck McDonald.

Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko has been the hardest working man in College Station this year, taking recruiting visit after recruiting visit, which has continued into February, as the Aggies’ 2025 recruiting class looks to grow tenfold before spring football begins next month.

This week, it was revealed that Elko took a trip to the prestigious Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, California, to visit 2025 4-star cornerback Chuck McDonald on Thursday afternoon, looking to add a second elite defensive back prospect after landing a commitment from fellow 4-star cornerback Deyjhon Pettaway last weekend.

McDonald is just months removed from his productive 2023 junior season, recording 34 tackles (26 solo tackles), 7 pass deflections, and an interception. Standing at 6-1 and 180 pounds, McDonald’s consistently displays all the tools needed to excel at the next level, including impressive tackling at the point of attack and the size and quickness to excel in press-man.

According to 247Sports Composite, McDonald is currently positioned as the 123rd-ranked player in the 2025 cycle, the 17th-ranked cornerback prospect, and the 12th-ranked player in California.

2024 5-Star ATH and Aggie commit Terry Bussey is reportedly down to two programs

According to On3’s Sam Spiegelman, 2024 5-star athlete Terry Bussey is reportedly down to signing with either Texas A&M or LSU.

Texas A&M’s lone unsigned commit in the 2024 recruiting cycle outside of recent OL Duke flip Robert Bourdon, 5-star athlete Terry Bussey has been committed to the program since last September, forgoing early signing day in late Dec. to gauge his options further.

Last week, it was reported by On3’s Sam Spiegelman that Bussey had planned several last-minute visits to Georgia on Friday, Jan. 26, LSU on Wednesday, Jan. 31, and, coming this Friday, a final visit to Texas A&M on Friday, Feb. 2.

With both visits to Georgia and LSU complete, Spiegelman has revealed that Bussey is reportedly down to just two programs: Texas A&M and the rival LSU Tigers.

Texas A&M has already lost several former 2024 commits to the Tigers since the end of last year, some due to the firing of head coach Jimbo Fisher and the hiring of new head coach Mike Elko just a week later. While Bussey has developed a close relationship with Elko and his staff, nothing is set in stone, as he recently noted in an interview with On3:

“I’ve been getting to know the new staff,” Bussey told On3 earlier this month. “It’s been great building a relationship with coach Elko, coach (Ishmael Aristide) and I’m building relationships with other coaches they already have on staff. They’re great guys, great people, they know a lot about football and they’re great football-minded people.”

According to On3, Bussey is currently positioned as the 30th-ranked player in the 2024 class, the No. 1-ranked athlete, and the 8th-ranked player in Texas.

Report: Texas A&M’s coaching staff visited 2024 4-star LB out of San Juan (CA)

It has been confirmed that Texas A&M’s coaching staff have paid a visit to 2025 LB Weston Port out of San Juan, California.

Texas A&M’s hiring of new head football coach Mike Elko has already paid dividends this offseason, already showing that he can recruit. At the same time, his hiring provided a sense of calm to a chaotic atmosphere during the last two years under the Jimbo Fisher regime.

With a focus on building the 2025 recruiting class, Elko’s first in his tenure, the Aggies have already landed three players in the cycle, including recent acquisitions in 4-star linebacker Kelvion Riggins and 4-star cornerback Deyjhon Pettaway last weekend.

This week, it has been reported by TexAgs’ Andrew Hattersley that Texas A&M cornerbacks coach Ishmael Aristide, one of the Aggie’s leading recruiters among Elko’s new staff, traveled to San Juan Hills (CA), to pay Port a visit and further grow the relationship between both parties.

Even after adding Riggins to the class, Weston Port’s versatility as an outside backer with defensive end experience and an already polished pass rush arsenal is much too intriguing to pass up for the future. During his 2023 junior season, Port recorded 128 tackles (84 solo tackles), 2.5 sacks, 11 QB hurries, 13 tackles for loss, and two interceptions.

According to 247Sports Composite, Port is currently positioned as the 355th-ranked prospect in the 2025 recruiting class, the 39th-ranked linebacker prospect, and the 32nd-ranked player in California.

Former Texas A&M OL Erik McCoy has been selected for the 2024 Pro Bowl

Former Texas A&M center Erik McCoy has made the 2024 Pro Bowl in place of Detroit’s starting center Fran Ragnow due to injury.

Ahead of this weekend’s 2024 Pro Bowl festivities, it was announced that former Texas A&M offensive lineman Erik McCoy had been selected to the NFL Pro Bowl roster in place of Detroit Lions center Frank Ragnow, who has continued to deal with multiple injuries.

After five seasons as the New Orleans Saints’ starting center, McCoy, who didn’t miss a single game during the 2023 season, has remained one of the most dependable offensive linemen year after a year, outside of dealing with several injuries over the last couple of seasons.

Coming out of the 2015 recruiting class, McCoy was a highly underrated 3-star prospect out of Lufkin, Texas, redshirting during his freshman season before earning the starting center job during the 2016 campaign.

Adding weight and strength over the years, McCoy’s technically sound hands and feet, paired with a keen understanding of leverage, led to starting 38 games during his Aggies career, entering the 2019 NFL drafter after his junior season.

Erik McCoy is the first Saints’ starting center to be selected to the Pro Bowl since center Max Unger in 2018.

Texas A&M offers 2025 4-Star WR out of Scottsdale (AZ)

Texas A&M has offered speedy 2025 4-star WR Cooper Perry out of Notre Dame Prep.

Texas A&M’s 2025 recruiting class is shaping up to be an impressive haul when all is said and done, providing new head football coach Mike Elko an encouraging start ahead of his inaugural 2024 season.

With three commits in the 2025 cycle, including 4-star linebacker Kelvion Riggins and 4-star cornerback Deyjhon Pettaway, who both committed to the program last weekend, Elko and his staff continue to field offers at every position, including 4-star wide receiver Cooper Perry.

Entering his senior season at Notre Dame Preparatory in Scottsdale, Arizona, Perry is coming off a productive 2023 junior campaign, recording 72 receptions for 1,190 receiving yards and 18 touchdowns through the air, including two rushing scores. Standing at 6-2 and weighing nearly 190 pounds, Perry possesses game-breaking speed and an impressive catch radius.

Perry has already received 20-plus offers and is a tentative favorite to land with the Oregon Ducks. However, new Aggies offensive coordinator Collin Klein’s new offensive scheme should be enticing enough for Perry to consider visiting College Station in the coming months.

According to 247Sports, Perry is currently positioned as the 220th-ranked player in the 2025 cycle, the 24th-ranked wide receiver and the No. 1-ranked player in Arizona.
