Stanford statistical leaders through 11 games

The Irish can’t lose to this team, right?

Stanford is trying to salvage something out of its season. Even its win over Coach Prime and Colorado has become lessened by the fact that Buffaloes turned out not to be much better than the Cardinal. A victory over Notre Dame would by far be the signature of their season. That won’t be easy though.

There are a few talented players on the Cardinal, but they only can do so much to make up for their shortcomings. For instance, the offense lives off the pass to the point where the quarterbacks actually are the top rushers. For our purposes though, we’re discounting them in that category for this listicle. That alone should speak volumes about the Cardinal.

It’s no surprise that a team with this many shortcomings has dragged the Irish to the dying Pac-12 Network for its final live football game. If it somehow pulls off the upset, here are the players most likely to factor in:

Class of 2022 four-star outside linebacker Tevarua Tafiti released his top 14 schools today and included in his list are the Wisconsin Badgers.

The Honolulu, Hawaii native is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 234 recruit in the class of 2022, the No. 19 outside linebacker and the No. 1 player from the state of Hawaii.

As seen above, other Big Ten teams pursuing Tafiti include Michigan and Nebraska.

Paul Chryst and company have recently missed on a few 2022 recruits, namely four-star WR/TE Jerry Cross, so adding Tafiti to their No. 12-ranked 2022 class would be a massive addition as they try to carry momentum forward from their impressive 2021 recruiting season.

Notre Dame Offers Star Hawaiian Linebacker

Notre Dame has created a nice pipeline to recruiting Hawaii and just made a new scholarship offer to the state’s top prospect in 2022.

Notre Dame’s recent pipeline to recruiting Hawaii is well-documented with Manti Te’o, Robby Toma, Alohi Gilman and the late Kona Schwenke being just a few players that came to South Bend, Indiana from the islands.

Now Notre Dame has their eye on another defensive star as they’ve made a scholarship offer to 2022 outside linebacker Tevarua Tafiti.

Tafiti is listed at 6-3, 205 pounds.  He may have a bit of a narrow build but packs a huge punch as a pass rusher as 247Sports ranks him as a four-star talent.

Notre Dame is the 13th team to make an offer to Tafiti as the Irish join Arizona State, Colorado, Hawaii, Louisville, Michigan, Nebraska, Oregon, Oregon State, Utah, Washington, Washington State and Wisconsin in doing so.

Tafiti had 27 tackles for loss, 11 sacks and three forced fumbles as a sophomore at Punahou High School in Honolulu.
