First look: Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Pittsburgh Steelers odds and lines

Looking at Sunday’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Pittsburgh Steelers Week 6 NFL odds, lines and trends. Here’s what you need to know.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-2) travel north in Week 6 to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers (1-4) Sunday at 1 p.m. ET. (FOX). Below, we look at Buccaneers vs. Steelers odds from Tipico Sportsbook; check back for all our NFL picks and predictions.

The Steelers looked dreadful in a 38-3 Week 5 loss at the Buffalo Bills Sunday. Rookie QB Kenny Pickett, who made his 1st NFL start, was not to blame. He was thrown to the wolves and played as good as could be expected under the circumstances – throwing for 327 yards with no TDs and 1 pick. With the entire offense being shut down, including only 20 yards for RB Najee Harris, the Steelers could be in for a long season.

Also seeAll Week 6 odds and lines

The Buccaneers received a huge gift in a 21-15 home victory over the Atlanta Falcons. With 3:03 to go, Atlanta DL Grady Jarrett sacked QB Tom Brady on a 3rd-and-5 play at the Tampa Bay 42-yard line, but Jarrett was flagged for a questionable roughing-the-passer penalty. The call allowed the Bucs to continue their drive and eventually run out the clock.

Going on the road now, Tampa Bay might not get such friendly calls, but it doesn’t matter. If the Steelers continue to play the way they have been, the Buccaneers will leave Pittsburgh with an easy victory.

Buccaneers vs. Steelers head-to-head

These teams rarely play each other. They’ve only played twice since 2014.

In 2014, the Bucs upset the Steelers 27-24 as 7.5-point road underdogs. In 2018, the Steelers returned the favor, winning at the Bucs 30-24 as 1-point dogs. However, these teams are completely different since that last meeting.

The only commonality between then and now is Pittsburgh coach Mike Tomlin. Just about everything else has changed.

Those past two head-to-head contests both cashed Over tickets. But after only scoring 3 points against Buffalo Sunday, it is difficult to see Pittsburgh putting up 20 in this game.

There is always a scenario in which Brady and the Buccaneers get close to covering the Over number themselves, but after the way they have looked in recent weeks, do we even trust them here?

This total of 43.5 (-117) will likely climb higher by game time. It is a safer play to let it rise and then bet the Under.

First look: Atlanta Falcons at Tampa Bay Buccaneers odds and lines

Looking at Sunday’s Atlanta Falcons at Tampa Bay Buccaneers Week 5 NFL odds, lines and trends. Here’s what you need to know.

The Atlanta Falcons (2-2) will visit the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-2) Sunday at 1 p.m. ET (FOX). Below, we look at Falcons vs. Buccaneers odds from Tipico Sportsbook; check back for all our NFL picks and predictions.

After dropping their first 2 games of the season, the Falcons evened their record with a 23-20 home victory against the Cleveland Browns in Week 4.

In what looked like a lackadaisical offensive performance all around, QB Marcus Mariota completed 7 of 19 passes for 139 yards with no TDs and an interception.

Trailing 13-10 after 3 quarters, Atlanta outscored Cleveland 13-7 in the 4th to claim victory in front of their home crowd. The Falcons hope to keep the win streak going as they visit the rival Bucs, who they are tied with atop the NFC South.

Also seeAll Week 5 odds and lines

Tampa Bay is coming off a tough week, dealing with the aftereffects of Hurricane Ian which forced the team to practice in Miami all week, and losing 41-31 to QB Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.

The game started with a fumbled kick return, which put the Chiefs immediately in scoring position on which they capitalized with a TD and never looked back.

QB Tom Brady did shine on offense though, going 39-for-52 for 385 yards and 3 TDs, but the running game never got going with only 3 total yards the entire game.

Although the Bucs suffered a 2nd consecutive loss, the bright spot for Tampa Bay fans is the team did not give in and continued to try to claw back the entire night against one of the best teams in the NFL.

Falcons vs. Buccaneers head-to-head

This will be the 5th time these teams have faced each other since 2020 and Tampa Bay has dominated the matchup, winning the past 4 games in the series. As a matter of fact, the Buccaneers have won the last 3 contests by at least 2 possessions. Until the last meeting, a Tampa Bay 30-17 victory with an O/U line of 51.0, the rivals played 7 Overs in a row.

The Falcons have not played well against the spread recently in the series. They are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 in Tampa Bay and 2-5 ATS in their last 7 overall meetings. They will need to adjust on the fly with dual-threat RB Cordarrelle Patterson going to the IR with a knee injury.

First look: Kansas City Chiefs at Tampa Bay Buccaneers odds and lines

Looking at Sunday’s Kansas City Chiefs at Tampa Bay Buccaneers Week 4 NFL odds, lines and trends. Here’s what you need to know.

The Kansas City Chiefs (2-1) and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-1) face off on Sunday Night Football in a rematch of Super Bowl LV. Kickoff from Raymond James Stadium in Tampa is set for 8:20 p.m. ET (NBC). Below, we look at Chiefs vs. Buccaneers odds from Tipico Sportsbook; check back for all our NFL picks and predictions.

Also seeAll Week 4 odds and lines

The Chiefs are coming off a surprising 20-17 loss to the Indianapolis Colts in Week 3. QB Patrick Mahomes had an up-and-down day with 262 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT. The Chiefs special teams unit had a rough day with a muffed punt by WR/PR Skyy Moore and a missed field goal and extra point by PK Matt Ammendola, who has been sitting in for an injured Harrison Butker.

The Bucs lost a close one Sunday to the Green Bay Packers 14-12. With minutes to go, QB Tom Brady led the Bucs on a TD-scoring drive, hitting WR Russell Gage for a 1-yard TD pass. The Bucs failed to score on the 2-point conversation and did not recover the onside kick, leading to their 1st loss of the season.

Chiefs at Buccaneers head-to-head

Super Bowl LV was the last matchup between the Chiefs and Bucs. It was the first Super Bowl where a team (the Bucs) had home-field advantage. The Bucs ended up crushing the Chiefs 31-9. The teams had faced off earlier that season with the Chiefs winning 27-24.

The Bucs lead the overall series over the Chiefs 8-6, and are 4-0 ATS against the Chiefs in their last 4 meetings.

The Chiefs are 1-2 ATS in 2022, failing to cover as favorites in their last 2 matchups. The Bucs are 2-1 ATS, although they failed to cover as 1-point favorites over the Packers last week.

Neither squad has been great at meeting the Over on total points this season. The Chiefs have only done so once, while the Bucs have yet to go over in 2022. In Week 3 the Chiefs fell 13.5 points short of their projected 50.5-point total, while the Bucs fell 16.5 points short of their projected 42.5-point total.

First look: Packers at Buccaneers odds and lines

Looking at Xday’s Team Y at Team Z Week X NFL odds, lines and trends. Here’s what you need to know.

The Green Bay Packers (1-1) visit the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-0) Sunday for a 4:25 p.m. ET (FOX) kickoff at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa. Below, we look at Packers vs. Buccaneers odds from Tipico Sportsbook; check back for all our NFL picks and predictions.

Green Bay lost in Week 1 but bounced back with a 27-10 victory over the rival Chicago Bears in Week 2. Against Chicago, the Packers scored 3 second-quarter touchdowns and were never threatened in the second half – all while holding the Bears to just 48 passing yards for the game.

The Buccaneers logged a 17-point 4th quarter in a come-from-behind 20-10 win over the New Orleans Saints Sunday. The Bucs were a plus-4 in turnovers, riding 3 picks and 2 fumble recoveries in the Week 2 road triumph. One of Tampa Bay’s interceptions turned into a pick-6. A staunch Bucs defense allowing just 276 total yards per game kept the Saints out of the end zone until late-game garbage time.

First look: Los Angeles Rams at Tampa Bay Buccaneers odds and lines

Looking at Sunday’s Los Angeles Rams at Tampa Bay Buccaneers playoff NFL odds, lines and trends. Here’s what you need to know.

The Los Angeles Rams and Tampa Bay Buccaneers both cruised in the wild-card round with lopsided victories over the Arizona Cardinals and Philadelphia Eagles, punching their tickets to the divisional round. Now, they’ll square off for the second time this season, a rematch of their Week 3 meeting and their third showdown in the last two seasons. Kickoff in this marquee playoff matchup will be on Sunday at 3 p.m. ET from Raymond James Stadium. Below, we look at the Rams vs. Buccaneers odds and lines; check back for our NFL picks and predictions.

After collapsing in Week 18 by blowing a 17-point lead in their 27-24 overtime loss to the San Francisco 49ers, the Rams bounced back in a big way against the Cardinals.

They steamrolled their division rival, winning 34-11 at home Monday night in what was one of the best defensive performances in the first half you’ll ever see in a playoff game.

The Cardinals gained 40 yards and had three first downs in the first 30 minutes, struggling to form any sort of offensive production.

QB Matthew Stafford played mistake-free football with 202 yards and 2 touchdown passes on only 17 attempts, keeping the offense in a rhythm and allowing RB Cam Akers and RB Sony Michel to carry the load on the ground.

Also see: All Divisional Round odds and lines

The Buccaneers won almost as easily in the wild-card round, crushing the Philadelphia Eagles, 31-15. Despite not having RB Leonard Fournette or WR Chris Godwin, the Bucs still gained 349 yards on offense, including 106 yards on the ground.

Most importantly, they shut down the Eagles’ top-ranked rushing offense, allowing just 95 yards on the ground – 34 of which came on one run by Philadelphia RB Boston Scott.

QB Tom Brady completed 29 of 37 passes for 271 yards and two touchdowns, with WR Mike Evans catching nine of those completions for 117 yards and a touchdown.

Rams at Buccaneers head-to-head

Since Brady joined the Buccaneers, Los Angeles and Tampa Bay have squared off twice. The Rams won both games, beating the Bucs 27-24 in 2020 and 34-24 in Week 3 of this season.

All-time, the Rams hold a comfortable series lead, going 18-9 against the Buccaneers dating back to 1977. They’ve won seven of the last eight meetings, as well.

When it comes to the playoffs, the Rams and Buccaneers have met twice. The Rams won both games, which were each low-scoring affairs: 9-0 in the 1979 playoffs and 11-6 in the 1999 playoffs. Each time the Rams faced the Bucs in the postseason, they went on to reach the Super Bowl.

First look: Philadelphia Eagles at Tampa Bay Buccaneers odds and lines

Looking at Sunday’s Philadelphia Eagles at Tampa Bay Buccaneers Wild Card NFL odds, lines and trends. Here’s what you need to know.

The Philadelphia Eagles (9-8) are on the road for an NFC Wild Card game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (13-4) Sunday. Kickoff from Raymond James Stadium is set for 1 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Eagles vs. Buccaneers odds and lines; check back for our NFL picks and predictions.

Also see: All Wild Card odds and lines

The Eagles were absolutely trounced 51-26 by the Dallas Cowboys in their season finale Saturday, although they had won six of their seven games prior.

Starting QB Jalen Hurts was rested for the Week 18 defeat while starting RBs Miles Sanders (hand), Boston Scott (COVID) and Jordan Howard (COVID) all missed the defeat as well. Hurts is expected to be good to go against the Buccaneers, while the running back situation remains more fluid.

Philadelphia is returning to playoffs after missing the postseason last year.

The Bucs finished the season with three-straight victories and wins in seven of their last eight games. QB Tom Brady finished the season with 5,316 passing yards and 43 TDs, both of which lead the NFL, but he’ll be without two of his top weapons for the playoffs as WRs Chris Godwin (MCL, ACL) and Antonio Brown (cut from team) will both be absent for the playoff push.

Tampa Bay won the Super Bowl last season, their first with Brady under center.
