The Bengals ran the smoothest trick play with Joe Mixon throwing a Super Bowl touchdown

We didn’t see that coming.

You’ve heard of the Philly Special, no? What about the Cincy Special?

We’ll work on the name, but it was a well-timed play that resulted in the Cincinnati Bengals’ first touchdown of Super Bowl 56, a six-yard pass from running back Joe Mixon to wide receiver Tee Higgins.

Yes, you read that right. Joe Mixon on the pass.

Trailing the Los Angeles Rams 13-3, Mixon took a toss from quarterback Joe Burrow on what looked to be a typical outside run. Then he shifted the ball to his throwing hand, and at that point it was clear the Rams were toast.

The pass was the first of Mixon’s NFL career, but it’s not completely new to him. According to the NBC broadcast, Mixon’s last pass came in college and also resulted in a touchdown.

It only took two possessions for Matthew Stafford to go over his rushing yards betting line

Well, that didn’t take long.

It didn’t take long for Matthew Stafford to go over the line set for his rushing yards against the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl 56.

Just barely five minutes into the game, on the Los Angeles Rams’s second possession, Stafford broke out of the pocket for a seven-yard gain before sliding down. The rush put him over 5.5 rushing yards line set before the game.

If the number seems low, it’s because it is. Stafford is mostly a stationary QB who hit at least six yards just four times in the regular season. But he’s taken off more in the postseason, hitting six yards in each playoff game. Now, that includes the Super Bowl.

Now, over bettors need for him to not take too many negative yards on a rush, or kneel down for too much of a loss. But he does have three more quarters to add to his total.

NFL fans tried to convince Tom Brady to unretire after seeing his calendar reminder for Super Bowl 56

Tom Brady really is not done with football.

Tom Brady has officially retired from the NFL and is out of football for the foreseeable future and I, for one, am very glad about that.

One person who probably isn’t, though, is Tom Brady himself. Football has been his life for, well, ever. And it’s probably hard to have that life abruptly shift away in such a drastic way.

It’s like one day you’re playing in a playoff game to, hopefully, get another shot at repeating as a Super Bowl champion. Then you’re just out of there the next day. And, well, that probably sucks. Especially considering that Brady has been in Super Bowls for half his career.

Which is probably why the dude has a calendar reminder set for the Super Bowl on his phone.

He shared the reminder on Twitter and it was pretty funny.

You can take the player out of the game but you cannot take the game out of the player. This is clearly a man who was ready to play some football today.

And, sure. This tweet was meant to be funny and is probably just a joke. But this is also Tom Brady. He clearly wanted to be playing today. It would not shock anyone if this was set the moment we found out Los Angeles was hosting the 2022 Super Bowl years ago.

NFL fans saw this and decided it was the perfect opportunity to try and convince this man to come back and play more.

10 movie trailers we can potentially expect to see during the Super Bowl

‘Top Gun: Maverick’ and ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’ top the list.

Some people watch the Super Bowl for the game. Others are more excited about the halftime show. But lots of folks are excited about the commercials.

As always. the Super Bowl 56 commercials will include some incredibly exciting movie trailers for upcoming movie releases. So we tried our best to guess which the major motion picture distributors are going to promote with a multi-million dollar advertisement.

Meanwhile, for those who are especially big fans of movies, here is a quick explainer on how to hack Netflix using category codes to find every movie offered in a specific genre.

You can also check out some of our other lists if you are looking for more recommendations:

Otherwise, while you are watching the Los Angeles Rams take on the Cincinnati Bengals, keep a careful eye out for the following trailers:

Prince’s Props: Joe Burrow, Matthew Stafford and more Super Bowl 56 player prop bets

The Rams aren’t likely to make life easy for Joe Burrow and the Bengals offense.

After such a good round of picks in the Divisional Playoffs, I regret limiting myself to just two picks in the Conference Round. I ended up splitting on those, but the near-hit on Joe Mixon’s receiving yards let me know I’m in a nice little groove.

I won’t make that mistake again for the Super Bowl. I’m going back to my traditional six-pick format from the regular season, not just because it’s the biggest game of the year, but also because I’ll have a better chance at improving my playoff record to over .500.

Sure, this could also backfire in a huge way, but keep that negative energy over there!

Let’s get into my player props from the Los Angeles Rams and Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl LVI.

Conference Round: 1-1 (Playoffs: 6-6)

Most bettors are putting their money behind Bengals over Rams in Super Bowl 56

Cincy’s odds are apparently too tempting to pass on.

With the Super Bowl just three days away, it’s quite obvious which team the betting public is putting its money behind.

Bettors are fading the favored Los Angeles Rams, with 71% of the moneyline action so far being put on the Cincinnati Bengals. Bettors also slightly favor the Bengals against a 3.5-point spread, with 51% of those bets being placed in favor of Cincy.

As the underdog, the Bengals’ odds result in a bigger payout. That may have something to do with bettors favoring them. Their moneyline odds are +165, meaning a $100 bet would win $165. The same bet on the Rams (-200) would only win $50. The spread is much closer with -115 odds on the Rams and -105 on the Bengals.

Bettors also slightly favor the under on 48.5 total points, with 53% of bets going that way.

How Mike Tirico’s double duty with the Super Bowl in L.A. and Winter Olympics in Beijing will work

Mike Tirico is hosting coverage of the Olympics AND the Super Bowl.

NBC has the rights to the Winter Olympics and the Super Bowl, which means one of its top broadcasters will be on double hosting duty.

Mike Tirico, who has been one of the best broadcasters in the business, has a lot on his plate during the lead up to the Super Bowl. Since February 3, Tirico has been anchoring NBC’s Olympics coverage from Beijing, and he’s doing that through Thursday, February 10 before flying to Los Angeles for the Super Bowl, per NBC.

But his Olympics coverage won’t end just because he’ll be back in the U.S. Friday and Saturday night, Tirico will still host the Olympics, and then he’ll switch gears for the Super Bowl pregame show Sunday, February 13.

It’s Tirico’s third Olympics as the prime-time host and his fourth Super Bowl.

“It is a career highlight to host the biggest sports broadcast day any media company has ever undertaken,” Tirico said an NBC release in January. “The foundation of our Olympic and NFL productions are the incredible people behind the camera. It is their planning and excellence that make this possible. I have never been more excited for a work project and to quote the great Ernie Banks, ‘let’s play 2!’”

When the Super Bowl ends, Tirico will immediately return to hosting Sunday night’s Olympic coverage.

This is a historic moment for Tirico and NBC, who are setting multiple firsts with their dual broadcast of the Super Bowl and Winter Olympics.

Super Bowl 56: 9 prop bets with a simple ‘yes’ or ‘no’ answer

It’s simple: Will this thing happen or won’t it?

We should rename Super Bowl Sunday to Super Bet Sunday, because there are SO MANY bets available for the game. From your typical spreads and moneyline to player props to special props crafted specifically for this game, there will be no shortage of ways to win (and lose) a lot of money when the Cincinnati Bengals and Los Angeles Rams play.

Some of those prop bets require picking a team: Which team will score the first touchdown? Some ask for a choice of plays, like first turnover: Fumble, interception, no turnovers. In this case, we’re looking at the ones that require a simple ‘yes’ or ‘no’ answer.

They don’t call it gambling for nothing, so there’s no definitive way to know what exactly is going to happen. But there are some trends that shed light on many of these props. That’s where I’ll turn to help give a yes or no and hopefully win a little cash in the process.

Betting lines and odds for the NFL divisional playoffs

See who the favorites are to move on to the conference championships.

The wild card round of the playoffs is nearly finish, with just one game remaining on Monday. That means matchups for the divisional round are just about set, as are betting odds for each of those games.

The Cincinnati Bengals, Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs all advanced in the AFC, while the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and San Francisco 49ers moved on in the NFC. Left to be played is the first round matchup between the Arizona Cardinals and Los Angeles Rams, with the Bucs awaiting the winner.

Below is a look at how the playoff picture looks going into the second round and the lines that are available for each game.

Why each team in the AFC will win the Super Bowl

Reasons why each team in the AFC will find their way to the title.

The regular season is over, slates are clean and each of the 14 teams to make the NFL playoffs have new optimism for ending the 2021 season with a Super Bowl title.

No matter their odds entering the year, each team remaining has a chance to go all the way. Over the course of 18 weeks, they all showed what they’re capable of. Now it’s just a matter of emphasizing those respective strengths, minimizing their weaknesses and limiting opponents from doing the same for the next four weeks. Whoever does it at the highest level will likely hoist the Lombardi Trophy when the big game wraps on Feb. 13.

Let’s take a look at each playoff team in the AFC and why it could be them:
