It’s business and brinner for Ndamukong Suh

Not even mealtime can stop Bucs DT Ndamukong Suh from conducting a little business.

Tom Brady was the Bucs’ big free-agent signing this offseason, but retaining Ndamukong Suh is a huge victory for a team that finished first in rush defense in 2019.

Suh agreed to another one-year deal with the Bucs, bringing him back for 2020 as the team looks to make a run at the postseason for the first time since 2007. For now though, it’s business and brinner for the big defensive tackle, who showed off his ridiculously good meal on Instagram tonight.

Peter King thinks Ndamukong Suh returned to the Bucs for this reason

Find out what Peter King of NBC Sports says the tipping point may have been for Ndamukong Suh’s return to the Buccaneers.

While Tom Brady is the free agent signing everybody wants to talk about, and rightfully so, the Buccaneers made a number of other big moves that have them looking formidable entering the 2020 season, like the tagging of NFL sack leader Shaq Barrett and the two-year deal they struck with Jason Pierre-Paul.

Not to be overlooked, though, is the re-signing of defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh. The number two pick in the 2010 draft came to the Bucs last offseason to replace Gerald McCoy, and helped turn the Bucs’ rush defense into the league’s best.

While Ian Rapoport’s tweet above indicates Suh wanted to return to play for Todd Bowles, Peter King of NBC Sports believes Suh’s return to Tampa was sparked by another reason.

Per King:

“I think the first signing that illustrates how much a player wanted to play with Tom Brady was Ndamukong Suh’s one-year, $8-million deal with the Bucs. One team talking with Suh believes playing with Brady was the tipping point in Tampa Bay’s favor.”

Suh is still after that elusive Super Bowl title, having come up short in Super Bowl LIII when his Los Angeles Rams fell to, you guessed it, Tom Brady’s New England Patriots.

If you can’t beat them, join them.

Free agent Ndamukong Suh is enjoying that beach life

See how Buccaneers defensive tackle and soon-to-be free agent Ndamukong Suh is spending his offseason.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will have a number of big decisions to make this offseason when it comes to their list of unrestricted free agents.

Quarterback Jameis Winston, who threw for 5,109 yards, 33 touchdowns and 30 interceptions, is among that group. Head coach Bruce Arians said after the season that the team would evaluate Winston in the coming weeks, but an announcement wouldn’t be imminent.

Linebacker Shaquil Barrett, who led the NFL in sacks and broke the franchise’s single-season record with 19.5, probably won’t be as nervous as Winston this offseason. After signing a one-year deal with Tampa Bay last offseason, Barrett is in line for a major payday, and both he and the Bucs seem ready and willing to work out a long-term deal.

But, let’s not forget about veteran Ndamukong Suh. The number two overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft replaced the player picked right behind him, Gerald McCoy, after the Buccaneers parted ways with the veteran last spring. Suh is set to be a free agent as well, and after helping the Bucs rank as the league’s best rush defense, you can be sure Arians and Todd Bowles will try and bring the big man back.

For now, though, Suh is living his best life. A few weeks ago he was celebrating his birthday in Napa Valley, and today, the offseason travel continues as Suh is soaking up the sun.

Ndamukong Suh is living his best life in wine country

See how Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh spent his birthday weekend.

The NFL’s Wild-Card Weekend saw some major upsets that’ll make next week’s divisional round all the more intriguing for those still involved in the postseason.

But, for those teams and players not fortunate enough to take part in the playoffs, the weekend provided a little time away from the game to get their bodies and minds back in order.

Take Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh, for instance. The big man, who helped turn the Bucs’ rush defense into the best in the league this season, spent the weekend enjoying wine in Napa Valley with his lovely fiancee, likely celebrating his birthday, which just so happens to be today.

Suh signed a one-year deal with the Bucs last offseason to replace the hole left by veteran Gerald McCoy. Given how well Tampa’s defensive front played this season, you can be sure the Bucs will try and bring Suh back for another go in 2020.

It’s not Christmas without Ndamukong Suh in pajamas

Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh took to Instagram to post a Christmas message.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, everyone!

While NFL players have to deal with the yearly possibility of playing on Thanksgiving Day, they are lucky enough to have Christmas off to be with their family and loved ones (sorry, NBA players).

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans seems to have his movie list lined up for today, while teammate Ndamukong Suh posted a Christmas message on Instagram, revealing one of his holiday traditions.

Take a look.

Suh has been a welcome addition to the Bucs defense this year. He was signed to a one-year deal in the offseason shortly after the team released Gerald McCoy. It’d be great if the Bucs could retain him in the offseason, but, according to some mock drafts, Tampa Bay may very well look to get younger at defensive tackle.

Wherever Suh ends up next season, you know he’ll have some fresh pajamas waiting to celebrate Christmas next year.
