Bobby Wagner responds to streaker’s police report

Wagner is not amused by the streaker’s action, and showed no remorse for his actions.

The Los Angeles Rams have seen their share of drama so far in 2022, but none as bizarre as what has occurred between starting linebacker Bobby Wagner and a streaker who interrupted their Monday night matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. After running onto the field with a device that emitted copious amounts of pink smoke, the streaker was summarily tackled by Wagner and a teammate before being escorted into the custody of law enforcement per standard procedure.

Today, news broke that the hooligan had filed a police report against Wagner, alleging that he was the victim of a “blatant assault” by the pair of Rams, which may open the door to legal recourse depending on the results of the Santa Clara Police Department’s findings.

Wagner responded to the report’s filing on Wednesday, saying that he had been apprised of the situation.

“I’m aware of it,” Wagner said. “[But] I’m more concerned about the security guard who got hurt trying to chase him.”

His total disregard for the safety of the streaker is on-brand for a player who put a swift end to stadium shenanigans in primetime. Especially on the road, players must always be aware of their surroundings and the behavior of fans who may be quick to make their mark on the game unnecessarily.

In the event that Wagner faces any legal trouble over the incident, the Rams organization would likely provide any council necessary to make sure any charges brought against him would be quickly dismissed. After a loss on the road, potential court proceedings are the last thing that the team wants its star players to worry about, especially as they head into the meat of their grueling 17-game schedule.

Bills WR Stefon Diggs absolutely laid out a fan who ran on the field in the 4th quarter

Diggs leveled a streaker, and all was right with the world.

Stefon Diggs had a quiet night on the stat sheet in the Buffalo Bills’ 42-36 overtime loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. The Pro Bowl wide receiver took a backseat to Gabriel Davis’s record-setting performance and had only three catches on six official targets for seven yards. While he added a two-point conversion in the fourth quarter, it was an uncharacteristically quiet night for a stellar player expected to feast against the Chiefs’ inconsistent secondary.

Diggs found a way to channel his frustration, however. Right into the shoulder of a fan dumb enough to run onto the field with two minutes left in a 26-21 playoff game. While the CBS broadcast only caught the tail end of security wiping a streaker from the turf, this video from the stands shows the Buffalo receiver taking the initiative and hitting someone stupid enough to trespass on his field:

Look at that. Diggs wasn’t even near this guy. He had to run past the line of scrimmage to get to him. But a true professional never passes up an opportunity, and Diggs seized his. He saw a man dumb enough to get arrested before arguably the greatest two-minute stretch of playoff football in NFL history and let him know just how stupid he was. Physically. By hitting him.

It was the on-field equivalent of “getcha popcorn ready,” only Diggs didn’t need to say a single word to convey his excitement. We should have known right there the ending to Bills-Chiefs was going to be special. This would have been incredible to watch from the stadium. One very dumb fan had to hear the aftermath while being detained by security instead.

The Super Bowl LV streaker is actually a Miami Dolphins fan

The Super Bowl LV streaker is actually a Miami Dolphins fan

Sunday’s final act of the 2020/2021 NFL season brought plenty of fireworks for the hometown Tampa Bay Buccaneers. A 31-9 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs may have brought little fourth quarter drama from snap to whistle, but it did offer a little bit of untraditional excitement late in the game.

In the form of a streaker.

And now, thanks to some investigative work, the streaker has been identified — and some additional context has been provided to both his appearance in Super Bowl LV and the consequences of his actions. Most notably, Yuri Andrade has been banned from Raymond James Stadium. But as it turns out, Andrade may not have too much use for Raymond James Stadium in the future because he’s actually a Miami Dolphins fan.

The revelation comes courtesy of CBS12 News of West Palm Beach, who landed an exclusive interview with Andrade earlier this week amid the fallout of his sprint across the field. Andrade is quoted as saying he “doesn’t care” about his ban from the Buccaneers stadium because he’s “more of a Miami Dolphins fan”.

Here’s hoping the Dolphins team continues to trend in the right direction in the coming months and years to ensure that the team gets better representation at upcoming Super Bowls than a Dolphins fan streaking across the field. But for now, Andrade’s loyalties can be a fun trivia fact about the big game this past week.
