Pablo Torre’s stellar Celebrity Family Feud comeback was an all-time great performance

Family Feud fans will always remember the name Pablo Torre.

When we think about the great performances in sports history, we don’t often enough think about the accomplishments of sportswriters.

Perhaps, however, that is because sports media personalities rarely achieve greatness quite at the level that Pablo Torre did. Torre, a former ESPN host and Sports Illustrated writer who now hosts the podcast Pablo Finds Out on Meadowlark Media, appeared on ABC’s Celebrity Family Feud.

He played alongside ESPN’s Mina Kimes, golfer Michelle Wie West, restaurateur David Chang, and author Chris Ying. Torre and his team faced off against a team led by John Legend and Chrissy Teigen.

Torre was tasked with anchoring the Fast Money segment and he did not disappoint.

After an uninspiring 54-point performance from Chang, it was up to Torre to climb out of the hole (per Awful Announcing):

“In fact, host Steve Harvey said it would take a Celebrity Family Feud record for a second contestant to reach the 200 points needed to win.”

So with a historic performance needed to earn $25,000 for their charity, the Southern Smoke Foundation, the sports media star simply did exactly what he needed to do — and he made it look easy.

He made history, or something like it, by notching 174 points and securing a victory. Torre also sarcastically thanked John Legend in the middle of Harvey totaling the score from the round, which was also very fun.

There are even t-shirts sold to celebrate this remarkable TV moment. Kudos to Torre on a job well done.

WATCH: Washington legend Brian Mitchell on Celebrity Family Feud

Mitchell was one of five NFL legends on the latest Celebrity Family Feud.

Brian Mitchell enjoyed a 14-year NFL career before retiring after the 2003 season. Mitchell enjoyed most of his success in Washington, where he spent the first 10 seasons of his career and was a part of the franchise’s last Super Bowl champion.

These days, Mitchell is back in the DMV and co-hosts a radio show on 106.7 The Fan in D.C. called “BMitch & Finlay.”

On Tuesday, Mitchell was on national TV as one of five NFL legends on “Celebrity Family Feud” with Steve Harvey.

Mitchell joined T.J. Houshmandzadeh, Andre Rison, Terrell Owens, and LeSean McCoy as they faced off against five United States Olympians.

Check it out:

Here’s a graphic of the faceoff:

Mitchell ended his career as the NFL’s all-time leader in kick and punt return yardage, and sits behind only Jerry Rice as the league’s all-time leader in total yardage.

Yet, somehow, Mitchell is still waiting for induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Former Ohio State star Chase Young to appear on Family Feud

Former Ohio State defensive end Chase Young will appear with other NFL greats to compete for charity on the Family Feud.

Former Ohio State defensive end Chase Young has already accomplished a great deal in life. He was the 2019 Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year, a unanimous All-American, drafted No. 2 overall in the 2020 NFL Draft, and was voted NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year. And that’s just the shortlist.

Now Young will have another honor to add to his resume. The former Buckeye stand-out will be taking on one of America’s favorite and longest-running game shows, The Family Feud.

Young posted a shot of himself and Feud Host, Steve Harvey, on his personal Instagram account a few days ago to announce the news. The exact date of the airing has not been announced just yet, but it looks like the full series of Celebrity Family Feud will air this summer, which will include Young and other NFL stars.

It is also unknown how the teams will be set up, but taking a look at the background of Young’s picture we see “NFLPA Legends”. This might mean a competition between some retired greats and current stars. And you know with those competitive motors, we’re in for a treat.

We love watching these guys do their thing on the field. However, it is can be equally entertaining to watch players try to answer questions that are set up for a laugh.

The teams will be playing for charity and donate any winnings to a predetermined beneficiary of their choice. What a great way to give back and add a little comic relief at the same time.

Hall of Famer Bruce Smith’s awful ‘Family Feud’ answer got the best Steve Harvey reaction

What an answer … and what a reaction!

Bruce Smith is one of the greatest pass-rushers in NFL history and the owner of the most sacks of all time in league history.

But when it comes to Family Feud? Not so much when it came to one answer.

The former member of the Buffalo Bills and Washington’s team was with a group of fellow Hall of Famers who played on a celebrity edition of Family Feud, and he was given the all-important job of second position in the final-round “Fast Money,” which means he couldn’t repeat the answers of the first participant.

So when asked “If Captain Hook was moonlighting as a handyman, he might replace his hook with what tool?” he said “hammer,” which had already been said. Then, he couldn’t think of another tool. With the clock ticking, he said … “Penis.”

Check out how host Steve Harvey reacted:

Amazing.

Watch: Rob Gronkowski hilariously spikes lego head of Steve Harvey

Rob Gronkowski ended 2019 on a high note.

Rob Gronkowski ended 2019 on a high note.

The former New England Patriots tight end thoroughly enjoyed his first year of retirement. He became a FOX Sports analyst, danced with the Laker Girls, revealed his partnership with a CBD company and so much more.

He also co-hosted FOX’s New Years Eve broadcast and sabotaged Steve Harvey’s bust made out of Legos. Harvey was in disbelief after Gronkowski joyfully spiked it.
